Afrobeat prince and leader of Fela's Egypt 80 band, Seun Kuti has criticised new generation Nigerian musicians over what he referred to as "singing about trivial things". Seun while in an interview with BlackBox Nigeria...(which is still ongoing) disclosed that it is rather pathetic that musicians sing merely on shallow issues without discussing matters that affect the major populace of Nigerian.

Seun Kuti revealed that it was sad that they focus on ordinary things which less than 2% of the populace can relate with.
"They sing about flashy cars, how my babe is beautiful than yours etc which is annoying," Seun disclosed.
