May D Denies Baby Mama Beating Allegations
Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Popular singer, May D was in the news last week but not for very good reasons. Adebola Olowoporoku, the mother of his child, hit the internet with pictures and stories of how the singer had battered her silly while she was in a relationship with him for eight years.
But speaking on his behalf when Saturday Beats called the singer on the phone earlier in the week, Oreoluwa Akinbode, his cousin who also doubles as his manager, denied the allegations that he is a woman beater.
In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, Akinbode claimed there was no truth in the young lady's allegations and wouldn't have an idea why May D's baby mama would push such news into the public.
"The truth is that the news has been out for a while and I haven't spoken to anybody about it and May D has not either. When we read the news, we were shocked because it is false. We have spoken to our lawyers and our PR team and they have something they are working on. We want anything that would come out to be the official statement of the company. We don't want to release individual responses. Aside from being his manager, May D is also my cousin. Anything I say can be considered to be a statement from both his management and brother. That is why I am skeptical about going into details.
"Anything that will come out will be from our lawyers or PR team. We want it to be official. Funny enough, you do not need to hear from May D before you know that he does not beat women not to talk about the mother of his child. If you followed the news, a lot of people replied on May D's behalf that it is not possible without us saying anything. Anybody that knows him one on one knows that he is not capable of such. She is still the mother of his son and because of that, we have to be cautious. We need to think of the family and that is why we need to be reasonable at this point. I don't know why his baby mama would put out such a story about him. It is a personal relationship between them," he said.

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
According to reports, the boy, popularly known as Ekanem, had gone to a native doctor, who allegedly prepared a love charm for him to use on his mother and one of the matrons in the college where he is a boarding student.
While speaking to journalists, the suspect's mother said, "I did not know how it all happened, but all I can say is that a young man who looked like my son suddenly found his way into my room at the wee hours and I was speechless," adding that the whole exercise had remained inexplicable.
Speaking at the police headquarters to journalists, the suspect said, "I am deeply sorry for all that has happened, I did not mean to do this. I saw myself falling in love with her after the love charm prepared for me. I have to confess because I know by so doing, God will touch her mind and I know she will forgive me. I suddenly found that I was making love to mum when I thought the charm will not work, and upon the revelation, I threatened to kill her and the matter was reported to the police", he said.
DSP Celestina Kalu, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, who confirmed the report, disclosed that the boy had since been arrested over threat to life.

"Let it be said of you in the future that you stood up to be counted. Deep down inside everyone of us, we want a peaceful, transparent, credible and violence-free election."
As long as you remain peaceful and law abiding people, the state will ensure that its security personnel act professionally, in keeping you safe because they and their families also have a stake in a peaceful election. Certainly, afflictions shall not rise a second time.
Again, I call on the youth to resolve not to be instruments in the hands of politicians who don't wish our people well. Those who divide and pitch us against ourselves are not of us; they are not our friends, they are our enemies and we must avoid them.

Family Business! Twin Brothers Nabbed For Kidnapping In Edo...elder brother at large
Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Two brothers identified as Stephen Odion and Stephen Akhere, both 26 years old, have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for alleged kidnapping.
The suspects, alongside one Stephen Ehikioya, 33, suspected to be the elder brother to the twins, were said to have ambushed one Alfred Ehikioya along Era-Ekpoma Road, shot him in the leg and kept him in a forest for four days.
The abductors were said to have released the victim after receiving a ransom of N500, 000 from his relatives.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Adegbuyi, who paraded the brothers in Benin, alongside other suspects arrested for various criminal offences, said the suspected kidnappers and others at large had earlier abducted a priest, who was later released after payment of N1m ransom.
Adegbuyi noted that they also attempted to abduct a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police who escaped after being shot in the hand.
He also added that the police recovered one Qlink motorcycle marked "URU DFD QD" and a Toyota Dianna Truck with registration number "NZM 425 XZ."
The CP said, "After their arrest, investigation revealed that the suspects had on January 11, 2015, attempted to kidnap one Inegbedion Peter, ACP (rtd) whom, while escaping from their attack, sustained a gunshot injury on his hands."
However, one of the twins, Akhere, explained that he was lured into the crime by another man whom he could not identify.
"Since I was born, I couldn't afford to go to school. I was working as a labourer at Ugba when a man deceived me into the act.
"When I got home, I told my brother about it; I told him that we would do it only once and stop. In our first attempt, we were successful and got some money from it.
"We were four in the group and we got N1m in total as ransom. But my brother and I got N500, 000 and bought a vehicle with the money.
"It was in our second attempt that we were caught in a farm. The double-barrel gun we used was given to us by someone who got it from his father. But we couldn't find him when we went to return it," he said.

Have they returned? Niger Delta Militants Bomb Pipeline In Delta State
Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Are the Niger Delta militants posing a threat to the incoming administration of the former Head of State and president- elect, Major General Muhammadu Buhari as they did to current and past regimes?
This question has become relevant because, barely four days after Buhari was declared winner of the Presidential election, beating incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, suspected militants have blown up a major high pressure gas pipeline at Ighwrenene Community in Delta State, warning the President-elect that he may have his hands full in containing the economic sabotage.
The incident allegedly occurred around 2:30 am yesterday.
The economic sabotage was coming about one week after some former leaders of the Niger Delta militants threatened to return to the creeks and resume their war against the Nigerian state in response to General Buhari's election victory over Jonathan. But Jonathan's quick congratulatory message to Buhari even before INEC, the electoral body, officially declared him winner doused tension in the land and forced some of them to retract their words. However, yesterday's incident made the situation hazy.
Also, a group of Urhobo youths under the aegis of Urhobo Gbagbako yesterday claimed responsibility for the March 22, bombings of the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, oil pipe lines in Ekiugbo, Ughelli Local Government Area "on a massive scale." It said that the aim was to give vent to their demand for pipe line surveillance contracts.
Nigeria is almost a one- product economy with oil contributing to about 90 percent of her wealth.
Late former President, Alhaji Musa Yar'Adua had to grant amnesty to the Niger Delta militants who fought from the creeks to drive home their demand for derivation and resource control in the country.
The Federal Government also approved 13 percent derivation as well as other programmes aimed at cushioning the effects of degradation occasioned by oil exploration for the oil producing states.
However, as at 10am yesterday when Saturday Vanguard visited Ighwrenene Community, an official of the NPDC accompanied by two mobile policemen were at the scene making frantic calls on how to extinguish the inferno which was ravaging the area.
Another official attached to the Pipeline Surveillance Unit, PSU, in the area who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the affected pipeline was a trunk line which convey the product from Eriemu, Kokori, Afiesere, Uzere, West-End at Kwale, Ogini, Olomoro and Owhe to the Ughelli Quality Control Center, UQCC.
Attempts by fire fighters from the NPDC, SPDC and the Delta State Fire Service departments to extinguish the fire had not been successful even as one of their trucks got stuck along the road to the scene of the explosion making access to the spot almost impossible.
Meanwhile, the Commanding Officer of the 222 Battalion, Agbarha-Otor, Lt. Col Mathew Oyekola told Saturday Vanguard that 15 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.

Pipeline surveillance contracts: Urhobo youths commence bombings of oil installations
In a statement yesterday, leader of Urhobo Gbagbako, Priest Omodjuvwu, said the group carried out the latest round of bombing along the Afiesere and Ekiugbo axis of the council area, during which it shut down all the oil fields in Urhobo and Isoko nations.
Omodjuvwu said, "We have earlier warned NPDC and the Federal Government on the pipeline surveillance contract to no avail.
''The contract is going on without the inclusion of the Urhobo, and that is injustice being meted to the Urhobo, which we will resist to the end. We need the pipe line surveillance contract now or the bombings will continue.
"We have now commenced bombings of oil and gas installations in Ekiugbo/Ighrenene/Afiesere areas and we will continue in an unprecedented scale, until we get the pipe line surveillance contracts in our area."
He also, added that the group's quest for oil contracts was immediate, in the absence of which the youths would continue the assault on oil facilities in their domain, without waiting for the expiration of the 14 days ultimatum earlier credited to it.
The Federal Government was said to have on March 16, reviewed its new plan to safeguard the waterways and oil pipelines by allegedly directing the Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, to quit the job for some companies, which had been signed on by the government.
The companies were reportedly owned by some former Niger Delta militants and prominent citizens including Government Tompolo; Mujaheedin Asari-Dokubo, Chief Bipobiri Ajube (aka Gen. Shoot-At-Sight) as well as the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, led by Dr. Frederick Fasehun and Gani Adams.
About seven companies were said to have been allocated "regions" or operational areas as follows: Egbe Security River One (Bayelsa); Gallery Security (Mosinmi -Ore); Close Body Protection (Edo State); Adex Energy Security(Rivers) ; Donyx Global Concept(Lagos and Ogun); Oil Facilities Surveillance-(Delta) and New Age Global Security (Mosinmi-Ibadan).
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), it was said, would coordinate the jobs.
Nigeria has been battling with huge revenue loss due to vandalism of oil and gas pipelines.

NFF Denies Nike Deal

The Nigeria Football Federation has described as 'false' news that the country's national teams will now be dressed by US-based sportswear company Nike.
Many news sites on Friday morning claimed that the NFF had agreed with Nike to supply the kits and training equipment for the Super Eagles, Super Falcons, the Dream Team, the Flying Eagles, the Super Falcons, Falconets, the Golden Eaglets and the Flamingoes.
But NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire confirmed that the claims were untrue and the country's football house did not go into any kind of
agreement with the sportswear giant.
That is not true and I'm not aware of that. If the story was real, it would have first been published on the Nigeria Football Federation
website," Olajire said.
Previous provider Adidas had written to the Nigeria Football Federation last August notifying them of their decision not to renew their contract.

Former LG Chairman, Children Murdered In Rivers
Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Unknown gunmen, Friday night, unleashed mayhem in Obrikom, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, killing a former Chairman of the area, Christopher Adube, and his two children.
The gunmen also shot and killed two persons, who were with the former chairman at his residence before leaving the building unscathed.
The incident, which was said to have happened at about 8.30pm, caused panic within Obrikom and its neighbouring community. Adube was also described as a traditional ruler.
It was gathered that the gunmen first shot at the second son and the first daughter of the former chairman before killing him (Adube), who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the area.
Speaking in a telephone interview with, the State Deputy Chairman of the APC, Prince Peter Odiche, disclosed that Adube's driver was also not spared by the unknown gunmen, who shot and killed him at close range.
Odiche, who is an indigene of Egba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, added that the residence of the State House of Assembly candidate for the APC in the area, Mr. Vincent Ogbuagu, was touched by suspected arsonists.
"I learnt they (unknown gunmen) killed Hon. Christopher Adube, his second son and his first daughter, his driver and two other persons that visited him (Adube).
"The incident happened this evening at about 8.30pm. The house of the APC House of Assembly candidate for ONELGA, Hon. Vincent Ogbuagu was burnt," Odiche stressed.
He explained that the ugly incident, which occurred barely a week to the governorship and House of Assembly election, was aimed at intimidating APC members and supporters.
The state APC deputy chairman blamed the Peoples Democratic Party in ONELGA for the development, saying, "The PDP in ONELGA is trying to do everything to stop us (APC) from coming out to vote. They want to scare us."
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, promised to get back to our correspondent, adding that he was still making contacts to ascertain what happened in the area.
Reacting, the State PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, told our correspondent that the APC was playing politics with security matters.
Nwanosike said, "If the APC chieftain is accusing the PDP in ONELGA for an incident that just occurred, then the police should interrogate him (APC chieftain). The PDP in ONELGA is not violent. So, the police should be allowed to do their investigation.
"The APC should stop politicising security matters, especially when it involves human lives. I will not make further comment until the police conclude their investigation."
