BREAKING! @anticorruption : Nigeria Ranked 136th of 175 Corrupt Countries In The World
THE global corruption watchdog, Transparency International, has scored Nigeria 27 out of 100 and ranked her 136 of 175 corrupt nations in the world.
In the report made available December 3, 2014 and tagged "Corruption Perceptions Index 2014: Clean growth at risk", the @anticorruption agency noted that,"Corruption is a problem for all economies, requiring leading financial centres in the EU and US to act together with fast-growing economies to stop the corrupt from getting away with it, anti-corruption group Transparency International said today."
Since 1995 TI has been publishing the CPI annually, ranking countries by
their perceived levels of corruption, as determined by expert
assessments and opinion surveys. The CPI generally defines corruption as
“the misuse of public power for private benefit.”
In 2001, out of 91 countries surveyed, Nigeria was 90th
most corrupt, while in 2011, when the President Jonathan led administration came
to power, Nigeria was 143rd of 182 countries surveyed.
