Davido is African King As 2face, D'banj, Others Win Big At AFRIMA Awards

The 2014 edition of All Africa Music Awards, held on Saturday, December 27, at the Grand Ballroom of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and it was a big win for Nigerian artistes.
There was no doubt that BET Best African Act, Davido, is the rave of the moment as the young man bagged yet another Artiste of the Year award, Best African Hip Hop (Aye) and the Best Male West Africa award.

The 2014 edition of All Africa Music Awards, held on Saturday, December 27, at the Grand Ballroom of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and it was a big win for Nigerian artistes.
There was no doubt that BET Best African Act, Davido, is the rave of the moment as the young man bagged yet another Artiste of the Year award, Best African Hip Hop (Aye) and the Best Male West Africa award.
African King of pop, 2face Idibia, who was also the host of the ceremony, went home with Best African RnB and Soul Award, while D'banj also won Best African Collaborations (Cocoa Na Chocolate)
Mavin Record boss, Don Jazzy, also collected award for the Producer of The Year, while Nick Laoye was honoured with Best Female Artiste African Inspirational Music.
Other Nigerian artistes who won awards at the show are P-Square (Best African Group/Duo or Band), Brymo (Songwriter of the Year), Yinka Iyanda (Best Traditional African Music) among others.
The International Committee of AFRIMA also paid tribute to lives affected by the scourge of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in some West African states and terrorist insurgency in Northern Nigeria, Somalia and part of Kenya. The tribute programme was anchored by ONE, an international campaigning and advocacy organisation of more than six million people taking action to end extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa.
AFRIMA which is in partnership with the African Union Commission, is proudly supported by ONE, Africa 2.0, Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, PRMAFRICA among others and being sponsored by Kenya Airways, Procter and Gamble, Peugeot, Diamond Bank, and UBER.
