The Africa correspondent for The Globe and Mail, Geoffrey York who is based in Johannesburg, has said some foreign journalists are being blocked from getting visas that will enable them cover election campaign ahead of the February 2015.
York disclosed this in a series of tweets last night saying,
"Latest Nigerian scandal: scores of foreign journalists being blocked from getting visas to cover election campaign. Some waiting months at Nigerian Info Ministry, bored official shows no interest in helping journos enter; demands "security clearance" from "intelligence". Nigeria allowed many foreign journos to cover "Bring Back Our Girls" last year; yet now it's blocking at least 40 from covering election."
