Ikorodu Youths Mobilize for General Muhammadu Buhari, Release Campaign Song
As the campaign
to take over Aso Rock intensifies, youths in Ikorodu seems to be aligning their
support with the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential candidate,
General Muhammadu Buhari, as a group of volunteers from the town released a campaign
song in support of Buhari's aspiration.
A member of the
group, Sholanke Lateef 'Arizona', who spoke on behalf of others, said they are
doing this mobilisation out of personal convictions that a Buhari
administration would return sanity to the country's political landscape.
"We are
getting involved because we believe in GMB's honesty and integrity. We believe 90% of the youths know the better
truth not in Ikorodu alone but the nation at large. Aside this
campaign song, we are also planning to brand our cars and do banners, if we believe
in the Change project, then we should be ready to sacrifice," he said.
When asked if they
are expecting anything in return for their efforts, Sholanke said they are only
doing their civic responsibilities of participating in the electioneering
process and supporting what they believed in.
"We do not expect any personal thing from
this, we've never met GMB before nor belong to any political party but we
believe coming together with the little resources we have in other to enhance his
campaign. We are also going 2 engage our self in house 2 house conversing
during d election," he said.
The campaign song
was sang by Sholanke Adesanya Keji popularly called 'Unfazed' featuring Shittu
Ajibola with the stage name 'Shittu-j'.
Some other
members of the group are Adekunle Lateef 'Haslath', and Quwam Omolaja Mabunmi.
