The English Premier league drama continues as Manager Alan pardew quits mid table Newcastle United to join relegation threatened Crystal Palace FC in a move that shocked many.
The decision of Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to offer Alan Pardew a 7 year deal following his 5th place finish in the 2011/12 premier league season was regarded by many pundits as an aberration.
We must also appreciate the fact that the team started this campaign on a poor note but a 6 match winning streak ensured that the team retained its place in the mid table to end the year.
BlackBox Nigeria understands that three factors led to the departure of Manager Alan Pardew from Saint James Park after a turbulent three years spell. The first is the lack of faith and loyalty from the clubs supporters, the manager felt after guiding the team to 5th place in the past, he deserved more than "Pardew out" from the fans.
Secondly, Alan Pardew was said to have left a transfer meeting with an abysmal morale after he was told by the club chairman Mike Ashley that he will not be given a penny for transfer when the January transfer window open.
Finally, the potential departure of Mousa Sissoko in January, which was made known to the manager in a transfer meeting was said to have angered the him.
Alan Pardew was reported to have pleaded with owner, Mike Ashley to reduce his five million pounds compensation fee to two million pounds and he has signed a four year deal worth two million pounds per year with Crystal Palace. It is also note worthy that Alan pardew is a fans favourite at the south london club.
