Italy's World Cup winning captain, Fabio Cannavaro has been handed a 10-month jail sentence for breaching orders to keep out his property after it was seized by Italian authorities.
According reports, the former Real Madrid star had been under investigation for tax evasion and got his properties seized by Italian police as part of the case in October 2014.
But the matter got twisted even further when the former star player breached the orders by going into the villa which is included as one of the properties seized by going for a dip alongside his wife, Daniela Arenoso and his brother, Daniel Cannavaro who were also sentenced to 6 months in prison.
However, the three have appealed the judgment, which means sentences are suspended until the court has re-visited the case.
Cannavaro won the Ballon d'Or in 2006 after leading Italy to their World Cup triumph that same year in the tournament hosted by Germany. He moved to Real Madrid that summer and won two La Liga titles with the Spanish giants.
The 41-year old recently kickstarted a managerial career with Chinese side, Guangzhou Evergrande after retiring from football in 2011.
