Nigeria popularly known as the giant of Africa have been preparing for a while now the presidential and governorship elections to decide who will chair the affairs of the country for the next four years, but one of the notable factors is that the election is going more tensed and violence is now the order of the day.
As it stands now there is a struggle for power between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), which has been a fierce contest and the country has recorded pre-election violence and the funniest thing is that there might be more violence if certain measures are not put in place.
Although the issue of the dreadful Boko Haram insurgency has been put in control to an extent but they might still be a threat to Nigeria if they are not totally wiped off before the elections.
The federal government need to do more work to have a credible 2015 election like strengthening its security apparatus; working closely with relevant state governments toward achieving a better election without violence and ensuring elections are held in all states.
We have seen all political parties sign different memoranda of non violence but they really need to demonstrate it in there act and security men should also do there best by proving they don't belong to any party or do not support any party , if we are all going to have a good and credible election.
