A group of young people today took to the streets of Seme, the town bordering Nigeria and neighbouring Benin Republic in anger protesting against 16 years of electricity unavailability.
The Youths during their peaceful protest lamented that for the past 16 years they have living in perpetual darkness and there seems to be no succour in sight.
Speaking with BlackBox Nigeria, a recent graduate who preferred to be anonymous disclosed that "the last time I saw light in this area, I was in primary school and today I am graduate of over two years. This is a pathetic situation and we call on the government to do something urgently."
The protesting youths have also declared that they would not be participating in the upcoming general elections if nothing is done to their predicament.
