E-Governance! Lagos To Provide WiFi Service To Residents

The Lagos State government is working on making Wi-Fi accessible to every resident of the southern Nigerian State, an official said.
According to the Permanent Secretary of the State's ICT Ministry, Mrs Nike Animashaun, the first phase of the Wi-Fi connectivity would be deployed at parks located at different parts of the state.
She said the Wi-Fi would be deployed at parks in Oshodi, Alausa and Ajegunle.
"The Wi-Fi services will be in some of the parks in the state and when it is deployed, residents of Lagos State would be able to access Wi-Fi in some of the parks," she said
Mrs Animashaun said that the state government came up with the idea to stimulate and encourage the interest of children in science and technology.
She did not state if the Wi-Fi would be free.

At a '2015 Ministerial Press Briefing in Alausa', the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Adebiyi Mabadeje, said the ministry would continue to provide advisory services for all Ministries Department and Agencies on science and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
Mr Mabadeje said the government was using ICT to strengthen the state's E-governance capabilities in other to conveniently serve its residents.
"In line with our ministerial responsibilities and mission statement of employing science and technology in all activities towards improving the quality of life of Lagos residents and transforming Lagos into a developed industrial and modern city of international statute, the state has leveraged on science and technology to improve service delivery, especially leveraging on ITC to strengthen our government's capabilities and enable the state to serve residents better," he said.

Lets stop jumping the gun, we are wiser now, give us constant electricity we are ok paying for our data, if there is constant light business will improve.
