Senator Ahmed ​Zanna​, ​of Borno state is dead following a long battle with Liver cancer.​ Mr. Zanna died Saturday in Abuja. He was 59 years old. The spokesperson for the Senate, Enyinanya Abaribe, confirmed Mr. Zanna's death. He said prayers were ongoing at the National Mosque for the late lawmaker.‎
Mr. Zannah, who represents Borno North Senatorial District, was re-elected during the April ​11 ​general elections on the platform of ​the ​A​ll ​Progressives Congress, APC.
