And PDP's Ekweremadu Retains Seat As Deputy Senate President
The Deputy-senate President in the 7th National Assembly, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has retained his position in the newly inaugurated assembly.
Ekweremadu was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated APC's Ali Ndume who represents Borno South. Ekweremadu polled 54 votes while Ndume got 20.
This is the first time since the return to democracy where different political parties would be producing the leadership of the Senate.
Earlier on Senator Bukola Saraki had emerged senate president in an apparent upset to the powers that be within the All Progressives Congress.
