A former commissioner for justice and Attorney-General of Lagos state, Professor Yemi Osibajo has been picked as the running mate of APC's presidential flagbearer; General Muhammadu Buhari.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that Osibajo's emergence came up after heavy politicking in the camp of the APC as Lagos Governor; Babatunde Raji Fashola and his counterparts in Edo and Rivers state were initially tipped for the ticket while former Ekiti Governor; Kayode Fayemi was also favoured but Osibajo eventually got the nod.

Professor Yemi Osibajo is a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God and is a close confidant of Pastor Adeboye which the APC power brokers considered as a heavy plus for the party to garner christian support for Buhari who is quite popular amongst Nigerian muslims.
