Despite Comedian AY's Goal, Entertainers Lose To Ex-Internationals As CopaLagos Comes To An End

Sports enthusiasts across Lagos ignored the much anticipated BPL rivalry Match between Manchester united and Liverpool to attend the 2014 Grand finale of the copa Lagos
The first match saw Spanish giants Barcelona embarrass Nigerian Federation cup champions Enyimba of Aba 9 goals to 2, it is noteworthy that the Catalans defeated all their Nigerian opponents in the course of the 2014 Copa Lagos.
Just when we taught the goal bonanza was over, African football giants Ivory coast killed off their Ghanian counterparts 9 goals to 4 winning to the applauds of the beach soccer lovers. Although that victory handed the title to the the Ivorians but the unbiased lagos fans, who love to watch the beautiful game continued to cheer them up as they destroyed their fellow western Africans.
Organizers of the event even treated the fans to an entertaining game between ex-internationals and Nigeria entertainers, the likes of Fred amata,AY, victor Agali,Victor ikepeba,Peter rufia,Aloy Agu,sexy steel,Taribo west to mention a few are on the beach to do battle.
The highlight of the celebrity game saw comedian AY display his outstanding soccer skills on the beat by scoring a goal and also following it up by entertaining the crowd with his football jogging skills. The ex-internationals won the celebrity contest through a long range effort from Victor Agali to run away with a slim 2-1 victory over AY led Nigeria celebrities.
After some tantalizing dances from the world class cheerleaders, Captain Isiaka Olawale led out the Sand Eagles against their Senegalese opponent to battle for the second place. It is noteworthy that the Sand Eagles of Nigeria have won the last 3 editions of the Competition in front of their home crown but the match day two lose to the Ivorians spelt doom for the African Champions. The sand eagles won the game 5-4 amidst tension from the the crowd to claim the seven thousand five hundred dollars for the second placed team as the Ivorians took home a mouth watering ten thousand dollars cash prize for the champions.
Finally, the organizer of the event treated the crowd to a concert where upcoming artists were giving the opportunity to display there talent. Though the concert went a little nasty when a fight broke out between a faction believed to be the "1960bet" click and some Victoria Island based guys but the gallant men of the Nigeria police force where swift to restore normality to the venue, not only that the organizers also treated their "VIP" guests to a fashion show at the Eko Atlantic beach.
It is also noteworthy that most beach soccer faithful will have to wait a little longer to get another treat of the Copa Lagos, for the 5th edition will be held in Portugal and you need not be an analyst to conclude that not all Nigeria fans have the financial means to travel.
