Mr Jimi Agbaje, the Lagos State Gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday urged residents of Badagry to get their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC).
Agbaje said this at a Town hall meeting he organised for party officials and supporters in Badagry that the card was important to enable them to perform that civic obligation.
"Voting is your right and everyone must ensure that he gets his voter's card as this is the only way you can vote.
"With your voter's card, you would be able to vote for the party of your choice.
"There have been marginalisation in Badagry and this place is supposed to have been more developed than this but it is still the same," he said.
Agbaje assured them that if elected into power, he would bring the necessary developments that Badagry deserved.
He also assured the people that tourist sites, among others in Badagry would be revived.
"This is not about me making promises because I want to tell the masses what they want to hear, we know what this state needs and we are ready to provide it.
"We will make sure that the state isn't just for the elites but the poor will be able to afford the basic things in life," he added.
He expressed optimism that the PDP would win the Lagos State election
