A student of Computer Science Department of University of Calabar name withheld almost lost his sight after a notorious lecturer known as Chris Otu in the Department of Economics, University of Calabar stabbed him with his-car key during lecture hour.
According to an eye-withness Mr Otu was supposed to have a class with year 3 students of Computer Science Department by 10.am, today 21 Nov. He failed to appear on time, but showed up aound 12 noon, 2 hours after the original lecture period.

After the lecturer's arrival, the waiting students assembled themselves at the lecture venue New CES building room 7 behind Unical Library.

The victimised student (name withheld) who is the lecturer's class rep. took a white board marker to the lecturer (Mr. Otu) which is a regular routine in various Universities in Nigeria. But the lecturer for no reason used a book in his hand to hit the student on his head and as if that was not enough, he stabbed him with his car key and walked him out of the class.

The injury was bleeding profusely when the lecturer who felt zero remorse told the injured student and other students in the class to go and ask around who he is.

Mr Chris Otu who lost one of his eyes during a battle is believed to be an ex-cultist and because this is Nigeria, he claims nothing can be done to him.

I can't help but wonder why a lecturer will act in the manner suggested above without provocation.
Even if he was provoked, inflicting injury on anyone as pictured is still very wrong.

Some students in a school in Slovenia shared a video online claiming they caught their headmaster giving oral sex to a female maths teacher during school  hours.

The 41-year-old headmaster, Drago Kamenik, was allegedly found by students between the legs of 45-year-old teacher, Manja Mertelj after they heard moans of pleasure coming from a classroom that was supposedly empty. Choi. #Luckywoman...:-). Continue...



The embarrassed headteacher first threatened to sue the students who uploaded the video on Youtube then later denied it was him after the video went viral in their country.

One of the students said;
'We heard the noises and knew someone was having sex in there, but we thought it would be other students. We couldn't believe it when we saw our maths teacher and headmaster.'
The headmaster, who is a married father-of-two, sclaims the video is fake, and says he has reported the clip to police, according to Slovenske Novice.
"The man in the video is not me, it has been photoshopped. I also spoke to my wife. Can these fools even begin to imagine what damage they have caused by doing this?! As for the maths teacher, she is a very good teacher and has had many positive things said about her.' he said.
Another student called his bluff and said that:
'We can put up more to prove it but I don't think anyone really doubts us.'‎

The news that English striker Daniel Sturridge is set to be sidelined for another six weeks has given the Meyerside Reds a big cause for worry and the Clubs hierarchy and fans are understandably worried about the players fitness level.

It is hugely disappointing to be without a player of his quality. Most players you will find want to play through an injury to get on to the field and when the incident happened in training it was through quite an innocuous action.

"He just flicked the ball and instantly felt the pain, it wasn't a shot or anything that looked as if it might be serious."

"So there seems to be an underlying issue somewhere. Our medical team are looking into it, the latest scans show a slight tear just below where he had a previous injury.

Chelsea Goalkeeper Petr Cech has always been in the transfer news since losing his place to returning youngster Thibaut Courtois this season.

The shot stopper signed for Chelsea from Rennes in 2004 and has established himself in the first team prior to the arrival of Courtois.

The happy one had this to say when responding to the rumor that Cech is almost a gunner "Which Mickey Mouse website did this appear on? On my desk, there are zero proposals."

A team of medical personnel are battling to save the life of Mrs. Mary-Ann Oguezuonu, a female teacher at Obosima Secondary Technical School, Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, who was brutalized by irate male students of the college.

Reports emanating from Obosima revealed that the students attacked the nursing mother with machetes.

The teacher's alleged offence was that she spotted a female student that changed her school uniform into a skimpy outfit and threatened that the college authorities would send her packing if she wore such an indecent dress to school again.

It was also gathered that while Mrs. Oguezuonu was cautioning the JSS2 student, a male SS1 student jumped into the classroom and rudely confronted the teacher on why she was embarrassing the female student.

"The male student, who was not satisfied with the verbal insults he heaped on the teacher, went further to grab Mrs. Oguezuonu's blouse," a student added.

The student recalled that the ensuing noise attracted other teachers to the class and the offending student was dragged to the staff room where he was flogged.

Another teacher revealed "While still cuddling her five-month old baby in the staff room, the irate male student mobilized others, suspected to be fellow cult members.
"They came into the staff room, armed with cutlasses and attacked the teacher."

When contacted, the teacher's relation, Mr. Francis Moore, confirmed the story and pointed out that the matter had been reported to the police.

He said: "The matter has been reported to the police and some arrests have been made, but the main suspect, Chimaobi Precious Agu, is still at large at the time of this telephone interview."

A total of 16,458 graduands were yesterday conferred with different awards at the 39th and 40th convocation/44th Founder's Day ceremonies of the University of Benin, UNIBEN.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Osayuki Oshodin, who disclosed this while addressing the congregation, said the university combined the 30th and 40th convocation because of its inability to hold the 39th convocation last year due to the strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Noting that this convocation would be his last as Vice Chancellor of the university, as his tenure ends this month, Oshodin said since the inception of his administration in 2009, 173 staff were promoted to the rank of full Professor, while 214 were elevated to the position of associate Professor.
"Apart from several infrastructure we put in place with the help of the federal government, two new faculties were established during this period; these were the Faculty of Environment Sciences and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Also, the Distance Learning Centre was established to provide additional access to the number of distance learning candidates."‎

The acting Governor of Taraba state has been ordered to vacate the seat by the supreme Court of Nigeria.

The political architecture in Taraba State has changed drastically from this Friday as the Supreme Court has ruled that the impeached ex-Deputy Governor, Sani Danladi, was wrongly impeached. It was his removal that led to Governor Dambaba Suntai appointing Garba Umar as deputy governor.

You may wish to know that Garba Umar has been having issues with Governor Suntai since his accident and the moves by his wife and others to rule the state by proxy. But with this judgement, Umar no longer have any stake, whatsoever, in the government of Taraba State. Politics in action!
Sani Danladi is now being sworn in as Acting Governor pending the return of Governor Suntai.‎

Two suspected car snatchers, Adekunle Esho and Chibuike Ugu, have been arrested by officers of Edo State Police Command in connection with a stolen Toyota Camry Car allegedly snatched in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on November 14.
The car, with number plate JJJ 777 AJ, according to a statement by the command's spokesman, DSP Noble Uwoh, was snatched from the owner by armed robbers.
He said operatives of Edo State Command traced the vehicle to Urubi Street in Benin, where two persons were arrested and the car recovered on November 15.
Uwoh, who said the two suspects confessed to the crime and that they intended to sell the car in Benin, advised the public against buying stolen vehicles to avoid being treated as receiver of stolen property.‎

The Nigeria Football Federation has accepted full responsibility for the failure of the Super Eagles to reach next year's Africa Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea.

The African champions battled back to draw with South Africa's Bafana Bafana in Uyo on Wednesday, when the narrowest margin of victory was needed, and left the country's teeming football fans in sour mood. But NFF President Amaju Pinnick stated that it was a time for sober reflection rather than trading of blames or looking for scapegoats.

"The NFF takes full responsibility for what has happened. It is a tragedy for us to come so near and yet fail to reach the finals. We made so much effort and sacrifice in Congo to achieve the victory we needed there on Saturday and really had no business bungling it here.
"However, our commitment is to build a sustainable football culture in the country and nothing has changed. This is a disappointment but for us, we gave it our best shot and supported the team fully."
Pinnick said Wednesday's failure could turn out to be blessing in disguise.
"All things work together for good for those that love God, according to Romans 8:28. This has happened but we believe it will work together for us to toil hard and achieve a renaissance that will take Nigeria football to much higher heights than it has ever been.
"I use this opportunity to thank the Akwa Ibom State Government for all the support they gave the team and the assistance they offered the NFF. This is a dark moment but we will emerge into sunshine shortly."

Former Arsenal star and Tottenham Hotspur's Emmanuel Adebayor is on a war path with his family after they accused him of neglecting them.

The Togo captain is alleged to have ejected his mother madam Alice Adebayor from the US$ 1.5million he bought for the family.
It is reported that the former Arsenal man split with his relatives because they were doing rituals against him.

"For the past six years Adebayor has rejected his mother and his immediate family whilst doing charity outside on the premise that our mother is a witch," Adebayor's cousin Margaret told Accra-based Peace FM.
"We have been thinking of his future as a footballer and did not want this issue out in the media but it is becoming too much.

"Could you believe Adebayor ordered his machomen to sack our mother and his own mother from a house he built in Togo claiming she is a witch?
"As we speak our mother lives in an apartment rented by our junior brother, Kola Adebayor, who currently lives in Germany.
"My mother weeps bitterly about the issue every day.  Anytime his mother or any of us (his close relatives) call and he realizes, he will quickly cut the call.
Margaret added: "I personally supervised the building of his house in Trassaco and he gave us an apartment in the house. But all of a sudden he changed his attitude towards us, one afternoon his machomen came to drive us away from the house."

But in a rebuttal, Adebayor denied the allegations although he admitted his relationship with his family has been severed.
"Ask my sister Margaret whether I did not build them a house in East Legon, and what happened to it? I bought my younger sister Lucia a car worth $35,000, where is it?" Ade explained.

"If they want the issue resolved they should stop spreading the news and let's meet to resolve it but they aren't willing to do so." Adebayor added.

The US embassy in Abuja has ruined the planned honeymoon of Nigerian Athlete Blessing Okagbare after they refused to grant her new husband, Igho Otegheri, visa to travel to the US with her.

The couple had planned to travel to LA where the sprint queen is based but the US embassy refused to grant visa to Igho, leaving Blessing distraught. Blessing tells Vanguard

"I feel so bad that America Embassy would turn down the visa request by my husband to travel with me to Los Angeles. I have resumed training for the season and I have to go back to my base with my husband so that I can concentrate.

"I have sent copies of my documents, including my Resident Permit in Los Angeles to them so as to facilitate my husband's traveling with me to the States, but they refused.

"Help me appeal to them to grant him visa because it won't be easy for me to shuttle between Nigeria and the States every time.

"I have to concentrate on my training and the only way to do so is to have my husband with me in the States. I have been so sad since my husband returned from Abuja with this bad news. They have to do something about it," she lamented.

Dejo Tunfulu has been hospitalised. The comic Yoruba movie industry actor, Kunle Mac-Tokunbo who is popularly known as Dejo Tunfulu was on set of his new movie 'Igbo Sambisa' when he suddenly began to cough out blood.

The unprecedented incidence happened in Abule-Egba area of Lagos State. It was reported that just as it was Dejo's turn to act on set, he started to vomit blood and was immediately taken Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Ikeja for treatment.

According to reporters, Dejo suffered an internal injury in his nostril which was not treated in time because he thought it was something minor. To stop the bleeding, his nostrils had to be blocked with wool to make breathing a little easier.

Former Vice President and one of the front-line runners for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, stated recently that he has signed a pact with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on how to save Nigeria from its current unenviable state.

Speaking with BBC Hausa Service monitored in Abuja, Atiku revealed that a closed-door meeting he recently had with the former president at the Otta Farm, Ogun state, was fruitful and was in the best interest of Nigeria.

He regretted in the course of the programme that a piece of advice he offered President Goodluck Jonathan in the past on the need to effect plans that would lead to the successful enlistment of volunteers like 'Civilian JTF' into the Nigerian military was not given consideration.

Speaking earlier on the presidential primaries of the APC which is fast approaching, Atiku assured that; "There is no problem that will arise after our primaries because we are one and will work for whoever that emerges."

He then went on to comment on his visit to Obasanjo by disclosing that: "We discussed challenges our country is facing, and we reached a pact that we will work together and ensure that our country is out of the mess we are in presently."

A Chinese company yesterday signed a $12 billion agreement to build a railway along Nigeria's coast. The project would connect Lagos to Calabar covering 1,402 kilometres (871 miles).

China Railway Construction Corp. Ltd. (CRCC) signed the official construction contract with the President Goodluck Jonathan led administration in Abuja.

The railway will stretch for 1,402 kilometres (871 miles) along the coast, linking Lagos, the financial capital of Africa's largest economy and leading oil producer, and Calabar in the east, according to the report made available to BBN.

The 22-stop rail project is estimated to create up to 200,000 local jobs, directly or indirectly. Up to 30,000 fixed job posts may also be provided when the railway is operational.
