The results further shows that the Senate President also led in Ado, Otukpo, Okpokwu, Ohimini and Agatu local government areas.
A break down of the senatorial results shows that in Okpokwu LGA, the PDP polled 13,355 while the APC polled 4,290.

Nwulu
Muniru

Tony Nwulu appears to be the man of the moment at this time as reports obtained by BlackBox Nigeria has it that the PDP candidate for the Oshodi/Isolo (II) Federal Constituency have defeated the incumbent, Hon. Hakeem Muniru of the All Progressive Congress who was seeking a second term in office.

BBN gathered that Nwulu's victory might not be connected to the huge population of his kins men from the South-East in that axis. A voter who incidentally is a supporter of APC said "Igbo people trooped out from Okota, Ire akari estate, Ajao Estate, Ejigbo etc and proved difficult even as we tried to canvass them."
Although the official results have not been released but the already collated results have shown that the PDP candidate carried the day.

Hon. Muniru who is a protege of APC leader, Asiwaju Tinubu BBN gathered might be considered for a juicy position at the Federal level if Buhari eventually emerges as it was uncovered that Tinubu has promised him such while urging him to take heart over the loss.

Contrary to reports going viral on social media and as reported in some "National Newspapers" that the Spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Committee, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode couldn't deliver his ward to the president, Fani-Kayode has come out to refute same saying it is a "shame" such news emanated.

Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees member, Chief Bode George, says the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, failed to have an alternative plan for possible failure of smart card readers used for the elections.

George, who lost his ward to the APC, said if Jega had listened to the PDP's suggestion that a viable alternative should be planned, the problem of faulty card readers would have been easily resolved.‎
He said, "Jega is experimenting with our lives, our future. The card readers have failed in many places. Where they worked, fingerprints could not be identified.
"People are ready to vote, but Jega has not provided the logistics. And we have said this election is not the time to massively use the card readers.
"INEC did not have incident form at my polling unit. My name and details were written on a scrap of paper."

He, however, urged Nigerians to exercise patience and restraint in view of many irregularities in the voting process.

Amaechi Accuses PDP Of Causing Violence In Rivers State

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
FOLLOWING the wave of politically motivated violence in Rivers State, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, has accused the People Democratic Party of breaking the peace accord facilitated by the Nigeria Police Force ahead of the 2015 general election.

Amaechi, who was reacting on Saturday to the attack on an APC ward-to-ward rally in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, where several persons sustained machete cut injuries, said the PDP had made nonsense of the peace agreement.
It will be recalled that the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 6, Calabar, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, had in February 2015, organised a peace meeting with major political parties in the state, including the PDP and APC.

But Amaechi, who spoke to about 15 members of his party, who were injured by suspected thugs, explained that the attacks on APC members was becoming unbearable.

Amaechi, who spoke through the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Chief Tony Okocha, described the peace accord as a ruse, adding that the police was not investigating the attack against APC members in the state.‎
He said, "The question anybody would be asking now is that what happened to the peace accord. The peace accord is a ruse because not even the police is investigating what is happening. The peace accord was signed with the police as witness. In fact the peace accord was even facilitated by the police.
"The PDP in the state is making a nonsense of the entire peace accord because our people are not allowed to hold meetings without interference. At some point, we just avoid them; at some point, any area we designate for our meetings, before you know it, they (PDP) will go and erect canopies there.

The governor of Anambra State, Dr. Willie Obiano has expressed his displeasure at the conduct of the presidential elections in his state.

Obiano who spoke yesterday evening with ChannelsTV program dedicated to the coverage of the 2015 elections said the usage of the controversial Card Readers by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was a setback in the conduct of elections.

According to Obiano, many voters in the state were disenfranchised due to the Card Reader machine malfunction. "I went to vote in my polling unit. The INEC officials tested all my ten fingers but it [the machine] didn't accept. I didn't grow new fingers overnight!‎
"I immediately called Professor [Attahiru] Jega and complained to him that no Card Reader machine is working in the state."

Obiano said he resorted to speaking with President Goodluck Jonathan to register his grievances.
"The did not give me any incidence form. I left, but when I returned to the polling unit people had started voting. Manual accreditation was approved by INEC and I later voted."

You'll recall that Pres. Jonathan also had a gruelling time voting at his Otueke hometown in Bayelsa State. All four Card Reader machines provided by INEC malfunction leaving the first family no choice but to get manual accreditation.

Jonathan and his family later succeeded in exercising their franchise.

President Jonathan Says He Is HOPEFUL!

At exactly 3.09, President Goodluck Jonathan and wife, Dame Patience, voted at his polling unit, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
After casting his vote, he had this chat with reporters

What is your impression of the process?
I want to congratulate Nigerians for coming out en masse to exercise their right to vote.‎
But I want to sympathise with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the Smart Card Readers across the country that malfunctioned. I want to urge Nigerians to continue to be patient and that they should bear with the commission.
In fact, because of the Card readers that malfunctioned, the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, expressed anxiety and anger and he was boiling because of what INEC had done.   I had to calm him down.
Even the governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, also called me to express his disappointment and anger because of the failure of the Card Readers.   I also had to calm him down too.
Do you have hope that all will be well at the end of the day?
I am hopeful that the elections would be successful, free and fair.
I want to plead with Nigerians to exercise some patience even though some people are said to have waited more than necessary at the polls.
Do you have information as to what went wrong?
Yes, I have some information regarding some of the activities of INEC but it is only Professor Attahiru Jega, the National Chairman of INEC, alone that can speak for INEC.
It is their duty.
I can't speak for INEC.
Jega will speak for INEC just as I can speak for the Federal Government.
There were stories of violence and a bomb blast in Enugu State?
There was no bomb blast.
The information I got was that somebody saw something that he suspected looked like an Improvised Explosive Device, IED.   I think the object was inspected and it was discovered that it was not a bomb.
I spoke with the governor of Enugu State this morning and he confirmed that there was no bomb blast.
On the other incident, you know that the war on the terrorists is on-going as we want to take over Sambisa Forest. I was informed that some of these terrorists were on the run and they ran into the military and they were stopped.
What outcome are you expecting?
I am very hopeful.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) seemed to be in the lead in some polling units as results of yesterday's presidential and National Assembly polls trickled  in.

At Ward 11, Polling Unit 2, Olusomi's compound in Sokori, Abeokuta, where former President Olusegun Obasanjo cast his vote, APC won with  a  wide margin.
Also,  at  Ajura ward 4 in Obafemi-Owode where Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun cast his vote,  APC won with a wide margin.
Meanwhile, some senatorial and House of Representatives candidates in the state were among those disenfranchised following their inability to obtain Permanent Voter Cards.
They include  the  APC senatorial candidate for Ogun Central, Lanre Tejuoso,  APC  House  of Representatives candidate, Mikhail Kazeem and former Special Assistant to erstwhile President Obasanjo on Women Affairs, Chief  (Mrs) Titilayo Ajanaku.
Reports from many parts of Ogun  indicated that the APC was leading  in almost all the voting units across the state. The race was, however, neck  on  neck between APC and PDP in Ijebu area of  the state.

PDP Speaks On Fumbling Card Readers

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965‎‎
The Peoples Democratic Party has said that reports of challenges with the use of voter card readers across Nigeria have vindicated its opposition to the deployment of the device.

While card readers functioned smoothly at various voting centres during Saturday's presidential and national assembly elections, there were complaints from many centres about slow or completely dysfunctional machines.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, authorised the use of manual verification of voters after several complaints.

The PDP, which had opposed the use of card readers for the elections, said the development has justified its argument against card readers.

The party's Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, told PREMIUM TIMES the ruling party had been vindicated.‎
"It was only the PDP that raised the issue of the challenges we might have with card readers. We said INEC should rectify or discard the card readers.
"When we raised these issues, people said we were being alarmist and opposed to the card readers. Now the election is going on and there are challenges with the card readers all over the country," he said.

He added that as things stand, PDP was only concerned about "free, fair and credible election".
"All we want is for this election to be free, fair and credible. If anyone rigs this election, it would be obvious to Nigerians."

The Peoples Democratic Party had led other groups and individuals to pose stiff opposition to the use of the card readers for the elections.
