So that you do not get confused by the Dollar figure, BlackBox Nigeria decided to do the breakdown for you in Naira... it is not that we are interested though!

On Tuesday, Forbes released a new report on People Who Make More Money Than Us, this time in the 2014 “Women in Music” edition. Unsurprisingly, Beyoncé has shimmied to the top of the list thanks to her lucrative 'On the Run' tour with hubby; Jay Z, which made her $51 million more than runner-up Taylor Swift. What is surprising, however, is just how many buckets of cash the singer/songwriter/Earth goddess amassed between June 2013 and June 2014.

Beyoncé’s 12-month earnings equal $115 million, according to Forbes, which also included Bey’s endorsement deals in the estimate. This means that Bey made over 3,000 times what the average full-time, year-round working U.S. female made in 2012, according to U.S.Census Bureau numbers.

(For comparison purposes, Bey also made more than 2,300 times what the average full-time, year-round male worker made in 2012.) Bey’s fortune would even grow higher later this month when the singer releases a platinum-edition box set of last year’s self-titled album, which includes two new songs.

Forbes’s list of top female earners in the music industry is rounded out by Taylor Swift ($64 million), Pink ($52 million), Rihanna ($48 million), and Katy Perry ($40 million).

BBN EXCLUSIVE! Why Inec Reduced Lagos Registered Voters •Fashola, Others Might Not Get PVC

BlackBox Nigeria has exclusively uncovered that the Governor of Lagos State, Barrister Babatunde Fashola and many others might not get their Permanent Voters Card as the distribution commences across the state Friday.

News went viral recently about a reduction in the number of registered voters in Nigeria's commercial capital of Lagos which has made many cry blue murder which prompted BlackBox Nigeria to emerge on this investigative findings.

Only yesterday, Governor Babatunde Fashola lamented the large difference in the wide margin in the number of those who allegedly registered in 2011 which INEC had pegged at 6,247,845 (Six Million, Two Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty Five) to 4,800,000 (Four Million, Eight Hundred Thousand).

This has continued to arouse suspicious and accusations on the electoral body over what Fashola described as a possible "plan to disenfranchise Lagosians from exercising their rights to choose their own representatives."

BlackBox Nigeria has now uncovered that what truly happened was the deletion of multiple registers in Lagos.

BBN sources in INEC authoritatively confirmed that the electoral umpire has engaged its staff to clean up its database ahead of PVC distribution scheduled for Friday 7th of November to November 9th.
BlackBox Nigeria sources confirmed that already over two million double registration cases has been deleted.

BBN was further informed that due to logistical issues, the Permanent Voters Cards would only be distributed in 11 local governments. These are Ikorodu, Kosofe, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Mushin, Ojo, Ajeromi Ifelodun, Ibeju-Lekki, Agege, Ikeja and Ifako-Ijaiye Local Governments.

28th of November has however been fixed for the remaining LGAs which means that it is expected that the distribution of the PVC in the affected areas would come up before the end of the month.

The Lagos Governor had questioned INEC over the missing PVCs but BBN has been informed that many electorates in the state engaged in multiple registration which amounted to dual and sometimes multiple PVCs for some voters.

It was further discovered that for some Local government, no PVC was printed at all in several wards, an issue which can be faulted on the electoral body. The affected Local Government here include Badagry, Mushin, Alimosho, Ojo and some others who have peculiar issues.
In the case of Ojo Local Government, it was discovered that no single PVC was printed in many wards in the LGA. These include Ojo town, Okoko-Iba Axis etc.

Our source further revealed that like the state Governor, many electorates would have to wait until the commencement of the Continuous Voters Registration(CVR) before they would be eligible to get their PVC.
Of the 20 Local Government recognized by INEC in Lagos, only three has a clear state where no issues were recorded this include Lagos Island, Shomolu and Apapa Local Government even though Shomolu wouldn't be getting their PVC just yet.

With this revelation, the matter might have been settled but one expects INEC to come out to officially explain to the general public.

300 Italian doctors call African migrants “Trojan Horses of Ebola”

300 Italian doctors call African migrants “Trojan Horses of Ebola”

Three hundred Italian physicians have sent a petition to the country’s minister of health calling African migrants to Italy the “Trojan Horses of Ebola.”
The doctors are demanding the quarantine of everyone arriving from an Ebola-stricken nation and have warned “each arrival poses the risk of being a Trojan horse that could spark a tragedy.”

An Ebola threat to Italy is particularly relevant to the U.S., because soldiers returning from Africa are being quarantined at a U.S. military base in Vicenza, Italy.

Dr. Giulio Scigliano, the Italian neurologist who arranged the petition, said he was motivated because he believes Italy’s health ministry is addressing the Ebola threat “not in terms of health but in political terms.”

“No reasonable person can deny the necessity of quarantine for people coming from … African countries. But our politicians do not even consider this measure to avoid giving a negative connotation to immigration,” Scigliano said.

“In fact, they claim that immigrants are a resource, while general public perceives them as a problem,” Scigliano added in an email to WND.

His petition, signed by 300 practicing Italian physicians, addresses a “massive and continuous surge of migrants arriving from Africa.” It was posted on numerous Italian news and health websites.

As in other European countries, Italian airports are open to flights arriving from West African nations hit with Ebola. Italy relies on airport personnel to report and isolate any suspected cases.

“But the isolation of infected people can only be effective from the very beginning, that is, before these people come into contact with other individuals,” reads the petition.

“The only effective measure is to quarantine anyone arriving from an area at risk, as is the case with the states of New York, New Jersey and Illinois, and with the soldiers of the American base in Vicenza,” the petition says.

Scigliano’s petition accuses Italian authorities of a “deadly mix of political demagoguery and irresponsibility,” which “practically impedes” conventional wisdom “dictating that everyone be under observation for an adequate period of time.”

The petition claims African migrants to Italy “either disappear or are dispersed throughout various cities within the country, in areas with dense populations where a possible spread of the virus can be much easier and faster than in isolated areas.”

Last month, under a presidential directive, the military deployed roughly 1,400 U.S. military personnel to West Africa to bolster the international community’s efforts to contain the deadly virus. The U.S. expects to deploy at least 3,000 troops throughout the fall, with new estimates of more than 4,000.

Last week, it was reported 11 soldiers, including a two-star general, were under quarantine in Vicenza for 21 days after returning from an Ebola aid mission in Liberia.

Osoba, Ogun Deputy Gov, Others Dump APC

A former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, and the Deputy Governor, Segun Adesegun, have defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Social Democratic Party.

A reliable source, who made this known on Wednesday, also said that   the three APC senators from the state and six members of House of Representatives had joined the SDP train.

The Senators are Adegbenga Kaka, Gbenga Obadara and Akin Odunsi, who represent Ogun East, Ogun Central and Ogun West respectively.

The members of the House of Representatives are Kunle Adeyemi, Babatunde Olabode, Olumide Osoba, Abiodun Abudu, Odeleye Kehinde and Bukunola Buraimo.

News of their defection coincided with the resignation of Governor Ibikunle Amosun's Senior Special Assistant on Environment, Abayomi Odunowo.

Adesegun had on October 24 sent a stinker to Amosun, accusing him of   starving his office of funds, and allocating old vehicles to him.

In the letter personally signed by him and published exclusively on October 29, by The PUNCH the deputy governor advised Amosun to fear God and warned that he might not win the next governorship poll in the state.

A part of the letter read, "Your Excellency, while writing this letter, my thoughts race to my university days in Ile-Ife, Osun State where I joined a group of bikers travelling around the country out of youthful exuberance.

"During this period, one of my pastimes was reading inscriptions on cars and buses to amuse myself. In 1978, I witnessed a   fatal accident near a big tree at Alakia Junction in Ibadan on the way to Ile-Ife involving a white Peugeot 504 station wagon. Nearly everybody in the car died; shockingly there were several amulets hung over the car that had the word "I shall return" boldly inscribed on both sides. Unfortunately, it did not return. I therefore   conclude that we all must fear God."

Kaka and Obadara confirmed the defection of the politicians during separate telephone chats with our correspondents.

One of our correspondents had asked the Senator if the Osoba group had left the APC, he replied "Something like that."

When asked to be specific on Osoba and Adesegun, he said, "All of us; we will soon have a formal unveiling."

Kaka also disclosed     that Osoba   and   the National Assembly members loyal to him had started consultations and sensitisation visits to the Local Government Areas in the state.

He said, "What we are doing currently is that we are going about to the local governments to sensitise the people of the need to register and get their permanent voter cards.

"But we have not formally defected. You know that if someone wants to defect to another party, it must be done formally, so we need to do that."

On his part, Obadara   said, "Yes, I am in the SDP. But it has not been made formal; we are in the process of making it formal. In fact, all the senators and members of the House of Representatives are also in the SDP.

"We are out to rescue Ogun State from recklessness and provide good governance. We are not going to run a government of my friends, my school mates and my family."

When contacted , Adesegun said he would always be in a party where his leader(Osoba) belonged.

He said, "Osoba is our leader, I am talking about politics in Yorubaland. Nobody can create leaders for us in Ogun State."

Efforts   to speak with Osoba did not yield any result, as he neither picked a call made to his telephone line nor responded to the text message sent to him on the matter.

When contacted, the state commissioner for Information and Strategy,   Yusuph Olaniyonu, said,   "It is purely a party affair."

But the national leadership of the APC expressed shock over the defection, saying     the party would restrategise to cushion the effect of the defection of the politicians.

It said through its   National Publicity Secretary,   Lai Mohammed,   that it was inching towards reconciling the factions in its Ogun State chapter.

"We read it only in the newspapers like you read it. We thought we were making a breakthrough in our reconciliation talks. So, it was a shock to us," the APC added.

It admitted that the defection might affect its chances of retaining the state in 2015, but said it "will go back to the drawing board and   redouble our efforts."

On what would happen to the deputy governor of the state, the APC said, "The party in Ogun State will decide what to do with the deputy governor. Right now, our own is to face the new challenge."

Just as news of the defection of Osoba and others gained ground, the SSA on Environment to Amosun disclosed that he had resigned. His resignation came barely two months after the Special Adviser to the governor on Environment, Abimbola Lanre-Balogun, quit.

Odunowo, in his   resignation letter dated October 31, 2014 and addressed to the Secretary to the State Government,   Taiwo Adeoluwa, said he wanted to pursue a new opportunity, which has ''presented itself.''

Part of the letter read, "This is to inform you that an opportunity has presented itself that will enable me to work in the area of my stated preference.

"I believe the reasons leading to this decision are known to you and I will therefore leave them unsaid at this time.

"I am therefore tendering my resignation letter and wish to inform you that 5th November, 2014, will be my last day in employment."

Odunowo thanked the governor for the opportunity given him to serve, describing it as a ''truly outstanding experience.''

Odunowo told our correspondent that he resigned to pursue his senatorial ambition, stressing that he wanted to effect a change for the people of Ogun East.

Opinion: BREAKING MY SILENCE; NANS AND ITS STRATEGIC STOMACH RESTRUCTURING

Few weeks ago some unscrupulous element and disgruntled oldies in the name and disguise of the National Association of Nigerian Students were busy distributing a rather seeming shameless award to some sycophantic leaders of theirs all in the name of merit and the end result is not unknown to some who have been active players for years appointment or getting the cash. Initially I intend keeping mum but in the face of tyranny and one still adopt the option of keeping mute then posterity will never forgive such individual who has the means of belittling the hazardous act of some few microscopic individuals to taint the image of the vast population of the youths, which makes it important to break my silence on the disdainful act embark upon by the leaders of Nans.

Objectively Nans metamorphose from the well structured and willing West African Student Union to National Union of Nigerian Students to what we today refer to as National Association of Nigerian Students. Its formation was to strive for justice, equality and fight for the right of the timid population of the Nigerian students in the light of any intimidation. Nans as it is fondly called as over the years depicts its shallowness, greed and act of desperation at the expense of the original students who are entitled to the post the self acclaimed students' leaders occupy presently.

The composition of Nans should be students who are currently running a programme and not school drop outs, touts and graduates. The essence of the association is to engage the government of the day in constructive debate as to its policies as it affects the education sector and all other spheres of the economy, but the reverse is the case as our so called union leaders embark on a voyage of award sharing. Which reasonable individuals will give an award to a government that has refuse to bring back our girls, that has refused to provide us with basic amenities to survive as citizens, there's lack of power, small scale business are not thriving, unemployment, lack of security of life's and property which is the main function of our government, our roads are death traps, corruption is the order of the day, boko haram strives daily, our armies morale are down, our 20 billion dollars is still missing, cabinet full of criminals and sycophants.

Our dear Nans should realize that the future they are toying and joking with is not that of the unprivileged ones alone but that of the entire nation as an injustice done today is threat to justice forever. while it might not be too late to cleanse the union of the rotten ones, because am sure there are few good ones too, the totality of the real Nigerian students must be on the lookout in other to salvage the situation themselves and that will only happen if there is active participation.

Get involved today in deciding the next phase of your future both as Nigerian students, youth and full fledged Nigerian citizens.

A prosecution witness, Inspector Simeon Kunamon, in the ongoing trial of the murder of a three-week-old baby, Princess Happiness Moses, yesterday told a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere how a motorcycle rider, popularly known as Okada, Ilaya Peters, was paid N5,000 to murder the baby.

Kunamon, who was led in evidence by the state prosecuting counsel, Ebere Agu, testified that the baby's father, Moses Joseph, who is attached to Nigerian Navy, Amuwo Odofin, paid the defendant and others at large the said sum to forcibly take the baby from her mother, which he threw into the lagoon.
The witness, who gave testimony before Justice Raliatu Adebiyi, told the judge how the baby was forcibly taken from her mother, Gloria Yusuf, at about 1a.m. at her residence at 8, Odofin Close, Ajegunle, and thrown into the lagoon.

Kunamon also told the court that Moses organized some thugs on February 2, 2012, to steal the baby from the mother and deliver to him at Liverpool, where she was thrown into the lagoon in a peak milk cartoon, adding that the deceased baby's body could not be recovered.

According to him, trouble started when Gloria Yusuf, mother of the baby told Moses, her lover of one year, that she was pregnant, and that Moses asked her to terminate the pregnancy, which she refused.
This, according to him, made her to pack out of the house and rented an apartment at Ajegunle, until she gave birth on January 13, 2012, to a baby girl she named Princess Happiness Moses.
He said the baby was killed on February 2, 2012, at about 1a.m., four weeks after the father of the baby paid her a visit.

The defendant had earlier been arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and murder preferred against him by Lagos State.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him as Justice Adebiyi adjourned the matter to February 18, 2015.

18-Year Old Undergrad Makes History As America's Youngest Lawmaker After Defeating 44-Year Old Opponent, 66-Year Old Incumbent

An 18-year old undergraduate has made history in the United States of America after emerging the youngest lawmaker in the history of the country. Fiscally conservative; Saira Blair of the Republican party defeated her opponent, a 44-year democrat; Layne Diehl in what many has described as one of the most matured elections. Saira Blair will represent a small district in West Virginia's eastern Panhandle, about 1½ hours outside Washington, D.C., after defeating her Democratic opponent 63% to 30%, according to the Associated Press. A third candidate got 7% of the vote. A West Virginia University freshman who did most of her campaigning out of her dormitory room became the youngest state lawmaker in the nation Tuesday. In a statement, Ms. Blair thanked her supporters and family, as well as her opponents for running a positive campaign.  "History has been made tonight in West Virginia, and while I am proud of all that we have accomplished together, it is the future of this state that is now my singular focus," she said. Ms. Blair campaigned on a pledge to work to reduce certain taxes on businesses, and she also holds antiabortion and pro-gun positions. She defeated Democrat Layne Diehl, a 44-year-old Martinsburg attorney, whose top priorities included improving secondary education and solving the state's drug epidemic. Ms. Diehl congratulated Ms. Blair on running a good campaign and said she knew she was also up against broad dissatisfaction with Democrats in the state, partly from the widely held view that the Obama administration's energy policies are hurting the coal industry. "I'm very proud of the race that was run on both sides," Ms. Diehl said. "Quite frankly a 17- or 18-year-old young woman that has put herself out there and won a political campaign has certainly brought some positive press to the state. I look forward to seeing what her leadership brings to the state of West Virginia." Ms. Blair gained national attention in May when she defeated the 66-year-old Republican incumbent in a primary when she was 17. She will be the youngest state lawmaker in the nation, according to records kept by the National Conference of State Legislatures. There are more than 7,300 state legislators in the U.S., and fewer than 5% are under the age of 30, according to Morgan Cullen, a policy analyst at NCSL. Ms. Blair said she would defer her spring semester to attend the part-time legislature's 60-day session and make up classes in the summer and fall. She promoted her youth as an asset during the campaign, saying the voice of younger voters should be heard in the state capitol. An economics major, she hopes to become a financial planner, and she supports term limits. She also contributed nearly $4,000 to her own campaign. "Candidates should have some skin in the game," Ms. Blair said in a recent interview. "I wanted voters to know I was serious."

The governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari has said that Nigeria is facing the problem of insecurity because the nation has offended God.

Governor Ngilari made this statement in Yola, the state capital in reaction to the recent attack by Boko Haram on Mubi town.

According to Premium Times, Ngilari said:
"The reason why we are facing this insurgency is because we have offended God, and when the rest of the world is going to space it's unfortunate that we are left behind, plagued by insurgency and other problems."  "We are under siege for now, although security agents are doing their best. With prayers, very soon, Boko Haram will become a thing of the past. No matter the situation, one day it will come to an end," he added.

The governor also stated that though the insurgency defies logic, it would soon be part of history as even the Second World War which claimed 20 million lives is now part of the past.
