The news channel made this absurd assertion when analysing a report about the postponement Nigeria's‎ elections which it condemned.
The controversial report also states that Boko Haram now controls 80% of Borno state.

The above image was initially posted on Instagram by respected journalist, Dele Momodu who is also a big supporter of opposition candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari. Otunba Momodu also posted that he hopes the news medium wouldn't be sanctioned. Momodu was however backlashed by some followers who criticised him for being immature and a bad role model with his insighting statements against the President.

Three American students have been shot dead at a residential complex of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a suspect has been arrested over the incident, according to the local police.
Chapel Hill police told local news outlets that Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, was arrested and charged with killing the three Muslim students. He is being held at the Durham County Jail.
Hicks turned himself in after the shooting on Tuesday in Chapel Hill, just outside the campus of the University of North Carolina, AFP news agency reported.
Police officers responded to a report of gunshots at around 5:15pm on Tuesday, and found three people who were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police in Chapel Hill have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack. They were not immediately available for comment.
The police website released a statement confirming the three deaths and saying the department is "questioning a person of interest in the crime and has reason to believe that there is no ongoing threat to the public".

The victims were identified as 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, his 21-year-old wife, Yusor Mohammad, and her sister, 19-year-old Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, police said.
"I'm kind of in shock. I'm really confused and I have been since 5:30," said Kristen Boling, who lived in the complex where the shooting occurred.
The university said that Barakat was a second-year student at its dentistry school, his wife was planning on starting there in the fall, while her sister was a student at North Carolina State University.

Residents told local media that the complex was a peaceful place.
"It's a very quiet community," Bethany Boring, who lives in the complex, told television station WRAL.
"It's a lot of graduate and professional students. You know, professionals' families."
Friends and family and the online community shared photos of the victims via social media after the incident.

Man Rapes 11-Year Old Daughter, Blames It On Konji

The Police in Bauchi State have arrested one Abubakar Magaji, a resident of Liman Kagum in Bauchi local government, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 11-year-old daughter.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Lawal Shehu, who confirmed the development, expressed worry over the increasing rate of rape cases in the state and vowed that all rape suspects will be charged to court and prosecuted.
"Since January, we have arrested over 10 suspected rapists, only this week we recorded over five cases. It is worrisome that among the suspects arrested is a 45-year-old man who raped his 11-year-old daughter and two aged men who are between 45 to 54 years who raped teenage girls of between two years and four years.

"This is why I'm sounding a note of caution to parents, especially mothers, to always monitor the movement of their female children. I particularly want to warn mothers to be always on alert because rape is on the increase and teenagers and little children between five and fifteen years are now the victims.

"Any suspect arrested in connection with a rape case will be charged to court and be prosecuted; they should also know that the offence is not bailable. Even when courts are on strike, the suspects will remain in detention till the strike is called off", he warned.
Meanwhile, Abubakar, who confessed to the crime, said he could not resist defiling his daughter when his wife left him because of a misunderstanding between them.
The 45-year father of four who was ashamed to lift his head while answering questions from journalists said: "I engaged in the ugly act because I had a misunderstanding with my wife and she left me. I am ashamed of my self because it was temptation that led me to do it.

"I divorced her mother and married another wife but unfortunately, my wife also left me a month ago so I needed a woman to be with; so that was why I did it. I also have a problem with my sexual libido. It is so terrible that I desire any woman I see, but what stops me from approaching them is that people respect me as a married man. So I felt the only way I could relieve my sexual tension was to sleep with my daughter, since she is so young and had no knowledge about sex.

"It was after I defiled her and I was arrested by the police that I understood the gravity of my offence. I can't imagine that I did this to my own daughter. I regret my actions and I pray that God will forgive me".

The woman pictured above is Yejide Badmus and the man beside her is her husband named Alhaji Kayode Fashola, an uncle to the present Governor of Lagos State, Raji Fashola.

He was alleged to have done this inhumane act to her and this has been recorded as the highest form of violence between a man and his wife. Yejide has come out to share her horrific experience and advise women against staying put with their abusive husbands.

Yejide has come out to share her horrific experience and advise women against staying put with their abusive husbands.

Here is her story:
"Am sure majority of you all would be wondering what's all these talk of domestic violence all about? Lots of you are going through it right now, some had been through it before, while some will go through it sooner than later, I had been in it for three solid yrs of serious battering and assault but stayed there cos of African mentality that women endure all kinds of hardship in any relationship. But guess what domestic violence is not one of it, kept it all bottled inside of me taking the Shit, but had to take a walk and bow when I saw the gate of heaven, don't be deceived or floored by any man/woman behavior, we humans are the most complicated creatures to understand, it has nothing to do with age or exposure, you will be surprised that the older they are the more animalistic their behavior. Please am not ashamed sharing these with you all cos I never can say whose life am saving @ the moment, you back biting assholes, please go ahead and make fun but am not bothered cos what you all are facing in your matrimonial home or relationship is worse off what I or any body had.

"Got engaged to a 65yr old man, thinking the older the better, older men take care of younger ladies and vice versa but alas it's all lies, this elderly man is not what he made me think he was, instead he's nothing but animal, below is my picture of one of his assault, I call it MAJOR MASSACRE " COS I was beaten from 12pm midnight till 5am in the morning with no one to help but almighty allah that says it's not yet time for me to die, he went Scott free cos there's absolutely nothing I can do, cos of the name he carries. NAME" That's another thing we ladies should be careful of. After these incident, stayed in the relationship for another one year plus, even stick by him when he had close shave with death when robbers attacked him and had serious broken limb, was in the hospital with him for 9 solid months, lost my kid bro in between his crises(Badmus Oriyomi ) of blessed memory) both home and abroad, you would think the assault would stop with his condition? Nope, instead took advantage of his crippleness to assault me more and went ahead to call British police (crying pathetically) that I maltreated him cause he's a disabled patient. After stabbing me in my jaw with wine opener, that was when I made up my mind that if I don't quit then I will be dead sooner than later.

"Am out of the relationship happier and back to be my old self, am back to the good old yejide badmus that everybody knows, the jolly good girl that love life too much to sacrifice for any one."‎

Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been handed a €20,000 fine for insulting a ball boy in his side's 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Belgium international lost his temper as Wolfsburg were a goal down in last week's encounter and shouted "'Give me the ball, you motherf***er." towards the 15-year- old ball boy.

De Bruyne has since apologised to the ball boy in question and has offered him a signed Wolfsburg jersey, yet this has not stopped the
German Football Federation (DFB) from handing out a punishment.
"The sport court of the DFB has handed down a €20,000 fine for Kevin de Bruyne," a statement on the club's official website reads.
"The penalty was served in relation to an incident of unsportsman like conduct during the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 19.
"Kevin de Bruyne and VfL Wolfsburg have accepted the verdict."
The 23-year-old has been in sublime form for the Bundesliga outfit so far this term, helping them to second place in the table with eight
goals in 11 assists in 20 Bundesliga appearances.

Jose Mourinho says Romelu Lukaku is proof Chelsea "don't sell garbage" and believes the striker has already justified the €38 million Everton paid the Blues for his services in the summer.

Lukaku joined the Toffees on a permanent deal after becoming disillusioned by a lack of first-team opportunities with the Blues despite an impressive loan spell at Goodison Park last season.

The Belgian has since struggled, scoring just 10 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions, but Mourinho insists no one at Chelsea is in any doubt as to his talent.

"No, he doesn't have a point to prove," he told reporters when askedBabout Lukaku. "I think he proves every weekend that he's a good player.

"Nobody has doubts at Chelsea that he's a good player. He has nothing to prove to us. He is a difficult opponent. You have to know
that. We know that better than anyone.

"We know [Andre] Schurrle is a good player. [Kevin] De Bruyne is a good player. [Juan] Mata is a good player. But that's football, that's
life, that's the market.

Mata: world champion. Schurrle: world champion. Lukaku: one of the best young strikers, fantastic prospect. De Bruyne: one of the bestVyoung players, also. Both playing for a very important national team, probably one of the best national teams for the next decade.

We sell top players and we get top fees. If we didn't get top fees, we
wouldn't sell them because we want to keep them.

Curses, Bane Of Nigerian Football -Tafibo West

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

Former Nigeria defender Taribo West has said that the poor treatment meted out to former national team players has engendered a curse on the fortunes of the Super Eagles.

Nigeria won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations after 19 years but failed toqualify to defend the title this year.

West, a former AC Milan and Inter player, said that lack of care for former players who have died in penury has resulted in resentment
towards the national side.

"Administrators in the past committed a lot of atrocities against Eagles players and in anger these players cursed the team," West told
the Punch.‎
"Stephen Keshi led the Eagles to win the Afcon title two years ago through the grace of God. We all saw the problems the team encountered before winning the trophy in South Africa.
"Imagine a nation you served, you get injured and nobody cares; they dump you. Look at the way a player like [Rashidi] Yekini served the
team and died. It shouldn't have been.

Somebody needs to go to his family and compensate them. [Sunday] Eboigbe has been paralyzed for years and nobody has gone to see him. Will you say such a man, who gave his best for his country, shouldn't curse his country," he asked.

While West was forced out of the national side himself, he says that he has now overcome the pain.
"I have forgiven them but look at the way I was sent packing from the national team. I spoke for the young players in the team, who didn't have a voice and they banned me.
"Why won't I be aggrieved? Since then they haven't had a good defence," he said.
West then urged the administrators to create a scheme for taking care of retired footballers who have played for the national sides as is
done in Europe.
"Here there is nothing for ex-internationals. In all the countries I played in Europe, there are some monies like pension that I will collect when I attain a certain age because I paid my taxes while there. We don't have such here," he said.

I old pass you! Age Fights Leads To Spinal Cord Loss

No comments :

A car wash attendant, Michael Taiwo, has allegedly broken the spinal cord of his friend, Akeem Amoo, after a scuffle between them.
It was learnt that 28-year-old Taiwo and Amoo were boyhood friends in the Alagbado area of Lagos State before a disagreement over age marred their relationship.

Our correspondent learnt that Amoo had been admitted to an orthopaedic hospital in Lagos, while Taiwo was charged to court by the police on Monday.

It was said the defendant, who claimed he was older, had accused the victim of being disrespectful to him whenever there was a discussion among their caucus in the community.
Our correspondent gathered that they kept each other at arm's length after several altercations on the issue.

On January 28, around 8pm, Amoo, a commercial motorcyclist (popularly called okada rider), reportedly went to a car wash at Omisesan Junction – where Taiwo works – to wash his motorcycle.
Taiwo was said to have challenged Amoo to a duel after accusing the latter of grazing his leg with the tyre of his motorcycle.
In a show of strength, the suspect, it was learnt, lifted Amoo up and smashed his back on the floor, leading to what was later described by doctors as a spinal cord injury.
Taiwo was later arrested and arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate's Court sitting in the Ijaiye-Ojokoro area of the state on one count of assault.
The charge read, "That you, Michael Taiwo, on January 28, 2015, at about 7.40pm, at Omisesan Junction, Alagbado, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did cause a grievous harm on Akeem Amoo by hitting him on ground full of stones which broke his backbone and left ankle and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011."

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
He was granted bail by the presiding magistrate, Mrs. T. Akani, in the sum of N100,000 with a surety, who, according to her, must also present evidence of tax payment and means of livelihood to the court for verification.

The case was adjourned till March 23, 2015 for mention.

President Jonathan Says His Administration Has Created Most Jobs

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday boasted that his was the first administration in the history of the country to create 5,400 direct jobs for the nation's unemployed youths.

The President said the feat was achieved through the Federal Government's Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria, otherwise called YouWin.

Jonathan spoke during the inauguration of the Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The programme was designed to encourage youth employment and self-reliance.

Jonathan also said 2,500 entrepreneurs empowered by his administration had also created an average of nine jobs each, therefore, bringing the total jobs created to 22,000.

The President said, "This will be the first government in the history of Nigeria that will directly create 5,400 jobs through the YouWin programmes. I am also proud to say that the 2,500 entrepreneurs have created an average of nine jobs each, making it a total of 22,000 jobs so far.

"Entrepreneurs are the engine room of Nigeria's economy as they are responsible for more than 60 per cent of our $510bn Gross Domestic Product and the MSMEs are responsible for almost 98 per cent of the new jobs created in our economy on an annual basis.

"The new jobs we are targeting will come from the SMEs."

Jonathan expressed delight that the success story of his administration's job creation efforts was impressive and beyond expectation.

The failure rate of the programme, he added, was less than 10 per cent.

He said his administration at inception identified unemployment among youths as one of the greatest challenges to tackle.

This, he said, was the reason why his government took numerous steps to tackle the challenge.

He said his administration's target was to create not less than two million jobs annually.

The Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, had earlier described the programme as a private sector-driven initiative that sought to empower youth.

The Chief Executive Officer of Anabel Group, Mr. Nicholas Okoye, said the present administration had empowered over seven million youths.

Okoye said the figure had surpassed the total of those empowered by previous administrations put together.

"Those who say you (Jonathan) have not done anything for the youth are simply not saying the truth," he said.

Noting that all Nigerian problems are subset of employment crisis among the youth, Okoye commended the Federal Government for tackling the challenge headlong.

Former President Obasanjo Finally Endorses Buhari, Cautions Against Coup

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

After months of berating the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared his support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

Obasanjo, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, made his opinion known during an interview with the Financial Times at the launch of his controversial autobiography titled, 'My Watch', in Nairobi, Kenya.

Obasanjo said Buhari, who ruled Nigeria between December 1983 and August 1985, was aware of the challenges of Nigeria today and was qualified to rule the country.

He said, "The circumstances he (Buhari) will be working under if he wins the elections are different from the one he worked under before, where he was both the executive and the legislature – he knows that. He is smart enough. He is educated enough. He's experienced enough. Why shouldn't I support him?"

Obasanjo said he was confident that Buhari would be able to effectively tackle corruption and insecurity.

The former President said Buhari would restore the morale of the military which, he said, was needed in the fight against terrorism.

He said President Goodluck Jonathan betrayed the armed forces by allowing corruption to undermine their operations.

He said, "It is a question of leadership – political and military. I think you need to ask Jonathan how he let the army go to this extent. Many things went wrong: recruitment went wrong; training went wrong; morale went down; motivation was not there; corruption was deeply ingrained; andwelfare was bad."

Obasanjo added that he was saddened by the rate at which the nation's resources were dwindling, adding that when he left office, Nigeria had $45bn in its reserve but the resources had been depleted by more than half despite the increase in oil prices.

Reacting to the postponement of the elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission for security reasons and a better distribution of Permanent Voter Cards, Obasanjo said he hoped the Federal Government was being truthful.

He urged Jonathan to put the interest of the nation ahead of his own ambition.

He said warned that manipulating the electoral process could lead to a coup d'etat, adding that the May 29 handover date remained sacrosanct.

"I sincerely hope that the President is not going for broke and saying 'look dammit, it's either I have it or nobody has it'. I hope that we will not have a coup. I hope we can avoid it," he said.

President Goodluck Jonathan, has counselled Nigerians to speak good and peaceable words over the country, stressing that the 2015 polls is a contest among brothers and sisters from the womb of one Nigeria.

"I want to remind us all that we have no other country other than Nigeria and as we approach the election, it is wise that we speak good and peaceable words over Nigeria because we will have to eat our words, so let us make them sweet rather than bitter. We must see the coming polls as a contest amongst brothers and sisters from the womb of one Nigeria," he said.

He urged political gladiators to avoid the use of threats and desperations in their campaign, noting that whatsoever be the outcome of the polls that victory should be for Nigeria and Nigerians.

"We must avoid threats and desperation as we make our case to the electorate. Head or tale, Nigeria wins. Therefore, I urge all Nigerians to join me in saying it is well with Nigeria and by the special grace of God, it shall continue to be well with our great country Nigeria," he added.
