A member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II at the Lagos state House of Assembly, Mrs. Omowunmi Olatunji Edet has opened up on her relationship with Fuji legend K1 de ultimate. During an interview with Sun Newspaper she was asked questions based on this which she made clearifications...

There are speculations that you are in a relationship with King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal. Can you clear the air on your closeness to him?
When you see a man and a woman standing even under a tree, you would easily conclude that there is something going on between them. The relationship between myself, and KWAM I was ordained by God. I had been working as a Board Member of the State Ministry of Youth and Sports before I met him. I had contested several elections and lost, but somebody with whom I had worked with else where told me to go and meet KWAM 1, that he would be of help to me. In Isolo, where I come from, there are two people that are very prominent in my history, Dr. Fredrick Fasehun, and KWAM I. You cannot ignore these two people. The day I went there, I gave them my business card at the gate, and I told them I was from the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Sports and he gave me audience. I told him that I had contested election twice and lost and that I needed him to support me. He gave me an endorsement, as his candidate and since then, we have worked together.

So, the allegation that I was dating KWAM 1 is baseless and untrue. To even go further, I can tell you that for three years after my marriage broke up, I never set my eyes on him. Thank God, that there was no link. If there had been a link, people would have had photographic evidence. The irony of it all is that Wasiu and I are even related. His mother is from Ilupeju in Lagos and my father's mother and Wasiu's mother are first cousins; so he is my big brother. There are people that I consider very important to me. I call helpers of destiny. They have helped me in my journey. Wasiu has helped me at a point, so I cannot leave him. He is not my boyfriend, husband or sugar daddy. He is my father and he would remain so in my life.

He was nominated in absentia as he was in Lagos where the party's national convention was held.

ONE hundred Nigerians were deported yesterday from four Scandinavian countries for immigration and related offences.

The deportees were sent from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

They were flown into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, aboard a chartered aircraft that took off from Oslo, the capital of Finland, en route Madrid, Spain.

The aircraft arrived in Lagos about 6.50am and taxied to the cargo wing of the airport, where the deportees were handed over to security agents for documentation.

After disembarking from the aircraft, the deportees were escorted by security personnel to the palace gate entrance of the cargo terminal.

It was gathered that they were deported from their Finland's deportation camp after they failed to secure asylum.

Some of the deportees with criminal and related offences were taken away from the courts in a Coaster bus driven by sheriffs.

After documentations yesterday, about three of the deportees were taken away in a Hilux Pick up van to the Beesam Police Station to answer for violence while on board.

Their documents, it was learnt, were confiscated by relevant security agencies.

One of the deportees, who declined to give his name, alleged that Nigerian Embassy officials in Sweden connived with Norwegian authorities to facilitate their deportation.

Another deportee, who also declined to give her name, said despite her being pregnant, the authorities maltreated her in Finland.

She said she moved over to Finland to seek asylum from Greece, where she had spent over eight years.

Another male deportee said he spent 14 years in Finland with valid documents and yet, he was sent home.

He said he was forced to abandon his family, adding that his deportation could have adverse effects.

A man, his wife and two teenage children born in Greece, who sought asylum in Finland, were also deported.

The deportees said the authorities in the Scandinavian countries were hostile towards Nigerians, as nationals of other African countries were granted asylum.

Some of the deportees were seeing appealing to airport workers to give them mobile phones to call their relatives in Lagos to take them home.‎

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has appealed the confiscation order on his autobiography; "My Watch" by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Obasanjo, through his legal team, led by Gboyega Oyewole filed an appeal challenging the confiscation order, saying declaring that he had 10 grounds on which he could indicate that the trial judge erred in his ruling.
Former President who, however, frowned at the media reports which he said gave an impression that he intended to "dareconfront a judge or the judiciary" described the report as highly misleading.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State Prince Buruji Kashamu had dragged Obasanjo before a federal High Court in a-N20 billion libel suit instituted seeking to stop him from going ahead with the launch of the book .
The court had granted Kashamu an ex-parte application restraining the former President from launching his new book, but, Obasanjo went ahead to launch the three-volume book, which criticised President Goodluck Jonathan and other past leaders in the country last Tuesday in Lagos.
Reacting to Obasanjo's action, Justice Valentine Ashie of an Abuja High Court at Wuse zone 2, on Wednesday, had ruled on Wednesday, that irrespective of the public presentation, the former President erred by not obeying his court injunction.

BOOK LAUNCH—From left: Former Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Ibidapo Obe; former Education Minister, Dr Oby Ezekwesili; author/former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Guest of Honour, Prof. Olu Akinkugbe and Publisher of the book, Dr Eghosa Imasuen, at the presentation of a book: "My Watch", by Olusegun Obasanjo in Lagos, yesterday.
Justice Ashie also gave Obasanjo 21 days within which to show reasons why he should not be punished for disregarding a subsisting court order that restrained him from publishing his newly released autobiography entitled "My Watch".
The judge further held that former President acted in clear breach of its order, an action it said was tantamount to contempt.
He therefore ordered the Inspector General of Police, Director-General of the Department of state services and the comptroller of customs to confiscate Obasanjo's book from vendors across the country.
In his appeal, Obasanjo in a Suit No. CV/472/14, copy of which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, contended that he was dissatisfied with the ruling of the High Court and therefore "appeal against the said ruling upon the ground set forth."
Among the 10 grounds of appeal according the counsel, include that,  "the learned Trial Judge erred in law when he granted Interlocutory Orders of Injunction which inter alia restrained the Defendant from the publication of his book "My Watch" or the content of the letter to the President which is the subject of the suit before the trial judge in the said book "My Watch."‎

The Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, on Thursday said that the police lacked sufficient evidence to prosecute a governorship aspirant, Dr Tola Kasali, for murder.
The DPP, Mrs Olabisi Ogungbesan, made the statement when the case was mentioned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates Court in Lagos.
She said that evidence brought against Kasali and his co-accused did not sustain the murder charge.
The director advised that the police should conduct more investigations into the case.
Kasali, 62, a former Commissioner for Special Duties in Lagos State, was a governorship aspirant in the state on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC.
The police arraigned the aspirant and two others on Nov. 11, on a four-count charge of conspiracy, murder and illegal possession of arms.
The court did not take their pleas as the Chief Magistrate, Mr E.O. Ogunkanmi, said that he needed the DPP's advice.
The court, however, granted them bail on self- recognition.
The other accused are 65-year-old Folami Musiliu, a Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor, and 35-year-old Tobun Abiodun Lukman, a Chief Security Officer.
The police accused Kasali and the others of killing Mr Musiliu Ogboye Lamidi at Akodo, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, on Nov.9.
They said that the accused were arrested in possession of a pump action Avar Magnum gun with serial number 6381, without appropriate licence.
According to the charge, the offences contravene Sections 231, 211 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, and Section 27 (b)(1) of the Fire Arms Act. Cap 28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
A team of Messrs G.O. Osuji, N. Nosa and George Nwosu, appeared for the prosecution of the case for the police.
However, after Osuji had announced the appearance of the team, Mr Femi Adamson, a Senior State Counsel, also announced his appearance also as a prosecutor in the matter.
Adamson told the court that the state wished to take over the prosecution of the case from the police.
However, Osuji submitted that the case was an application for remand.
He said that the state could only take over the case after the accused might have been properly arraigned.
The team later conceded to the state counsel, and withdrew from the case.
Mr Taiwo Ajala, counsel to the accused, had urged the court to grant the accused bail on self-recognition because of their social status.
The court adjourned the case to March 20 for mention.‎

About 16 Killed In Jos Suicide Bombing

No fewer than 16 people were killed when two suicide bombers detonated bombs on Thursday at Terminus area of Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Security sources told our correspondent that the two bombs went off in quick succession around 6.30pm, from the two bombers who carried the lethal weapons in two sacks pretending to be traders.

It was not immediately established whether the bombers were male or female.

It was learnt that the first blast went off at about 6.30 pm in front of the popular Mr. Biggs eatery situated at the busy Terminus area of the end of the Ahmadu Bello Way.

The second one targeted at some traders at the junction leading to Bauchi Road from Muritala Mohammed Way, just opposite the demolished 'Mama Tapgun' statue near the burnt Jos Main market, exploded few minutes later.

The statue was erected by the administration of a former second civilian governor of the state, Fidelis Tapgun, but was demolished by Governor Jonah Jang, who said that it ridiculed the dignity of Plateau women.

This is the second time in 2014 that the area would be attacked by suicide bombers.

More than 200 people were killed when two bombs went off around the same area on May 20.

The state Police Public Relations Officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police Emmanuel Abuh, confirmed the Thursday's incident. But he said that casualty figure had yet to be ascertained.

However, security sources said that the number of those that died in the blasts was as high as 16 and could be more.

The source said that casualties were more from the second blast.

This may not be far from the truth as Terminus is usually heavily populated in the evenings when traders who had been sacked from the area usually return to do business.

It also serves as a park for commuters rushing home after close of work or business.

Attempts by the state government to relocate the traders from the area had been met with stiff resistance from traders.

But the government had used the opportunity of the May 20 twin explosions around the same area to relocate the traders.

The government has also refused to open the road from Muritala Mohammed Way to Terminus area, leading to Bauchi road, in readiness for the planned demolition of shops around the area

But the traders, who had gone to court to stop the government from carrying out the exercise, returned after few months when security agents appeared to have relaxed their patrol of the area.‎
