#TBT! This Throwback Photo Shows Obasanjo Having Breakfast With His First 'First Lady', Iya Iyabo...plus sad tales of a romance gone sour

Since many people online these days are only conversant with happenings of recent time, it is pertinent you take this as an history lesson. The late Stella Obasanjo who was Nigeria's first lady between ‎1999 and 2005 when she died in Spain during a "cosmetic surgery" was actually not the former President's first wife(...infact,she is not even the second).
Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo as a young military officer who rose to become Nigeria's Head of State in 1979 was married to beautiful Oluremi Esther Obasanjo(nee Akinlawon) who gave birth to baba's most recognised children like Iyabo and Gbenga Obasanjo.
Unfortunately, the marriage didn't stand the test of time as Baba Iyabo is said to have continually turned Mama Iyabo into a constant punching bag with occasional slaps which came more often than kisses a romantic man would give the love of his life. Bizarre revelations even showed that OBJ once chased his wife down the street with a knife...LOBATAN!
Anyway, all those story is just to tell you how important this picture is...seeing the now sworn enemies once having a nice time together...EPIC!

Angry LASU Students Respond To Accusations By Fashola's Aide..."it is regrettably lugubrious"

No comments :
Add BBN on 2BAFB965
The Lagos State University Students Union (LASUSU) has responded to accusations that it was involved in the continuous closure of the citadel BlackBox Nigeria has gathered.
The obviously annoyed students refuted the allegations that the union is responsible for the continued closure of the institution earlier made by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Fatai Olukoga on Tuesday when he stated that "workers and students' unions are to blame for the continued closure of the university".

The Students' Union in a statement sent to BBN and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adebanjo Fatai berated the Special Adviser for making such an "erroneous and unacceptable statement which is capable of inciting the students against the students union leadership".
"‎It's a pitiable dismal abysmal, and regrettably lugubrious that an elder statesman like the SA to the Governor on Education Otunba Fatai Olukoga can make such erroneous and unacceptable statement against the Students Union of LASU that the Union is part of the reason why the citadel is still wallowing in the jacuzi of election recess."

The Union reiterated it's call for the reopening of the school saying the Otunba Olukoga had earlier deceived them about resumption.
‎"As a Union that wanted a lasting solution on the issues on campus, we made a visit to the office of the SA Education on the 20th March, 2015 to consult him on how the issues on our campus can be solved and the gate would be opened. It was then that he told us that, election recess will be declared in our school because they envisaged  pre and post election crisis, and they don't want the students to be victims of such crisis. Subsequently, on the 23rd March, 2015, the open ended recess was declared which the Students Union condemned in it totality that why would a recess have no resumption date.  Furthermore, since after the April 11 peaceful election, our school had not been reopened, then we visited the leadership of the University management and the Governing Council countless of time  which never yielded positive change. We then visited the SA Education again on the 20th April, 2015 to ask him about the closure of the school, and we were told we couldn't  see him as Monday is their state Exco meeting day, that we should come back another day. We were there again on the 21st April, 2015 and we met him on his way going home, and he explained to us that they were holding on to our resumption because they haven't completed our school fees refund. We therefore told him that we were ready to resume, that they can reopen the school and at the same time continue the payment process. It was then that the SA Education put a call through the Chairman Governing Council in our presence and he told him that " please meet and find out modalities on how LASU would be reopened because the students said they want to resume". We were assured by the SA that by 27th April, 2015 we would surely resume. We left his office in happiness all because we have been promised that we would resume the following  Monday. We went on social media to inform our students of the new development, and told them to get ready for resumption. Unfortunately, the school was never reopened on the said Monday, and all we could see on the University site on the 26th April, 2015 was that " the declared recess is still very much in force", which shows that the State Govt and the university  are not ready to listen to our yearning. We then made a peaceful march from Allen junction to the Governor's Office to submit our position letter to the Governor as the visitor of the school, so that he can do something as the SA Education has failed us totally, by blatantly deceiving  us. To our greatest surprise, the SA Education took to media yesterday that the students' union is part of the continued closure in LASU, and the the Students Union was part of those who called for the sack of the vice chancellor. We held our congress on the 20th March, 2015 which was attended by over 400 students, and the decision of the Congress was that we should not support that  the VC must go as that cannot solve the problem, that the VC should stay and complete his tenure. Then the question arose that " why would an elderly statesman like Otunba Fatai Olukoga be blowing hot and cold at the same time,he is approbating and reprobating on the same issue", the statement further read.
The Statement further revealed that failure to resume soon would affect the already inconsistent academic calender especially as final year students of the Faculty of Law might not be able to meet up with the October law school calender.

The university was shut down on March 25 after some staff union began a protest against the school management and calling for the sack of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oladapo Obafunwa.

Tragedy struck in Osogbo, Osun State on Wednesday after a 200-level law student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Miss Mary Ibitolu, was crushed to death by a bus owned by a private secondary school in Osogbo.
Our correspondent gathered that the deceased was on a commercial motorcycle when the bus, which was said to have suffered brake failure, hit the motorcycle and knocked her down.
She was said to have been rushed to a private hospital at Okefia where she gave up the ghost. The motorcyclist was said to have survived the accident.
A commuter, who was waiting to board a bus, was also said to have been knocked down, but survived the incident.
One of the eyewitnesses, a hawker, told our correspondent that the school bus broke down, but the driver called on some passersby to assist him to push-start the engine.
He said when the engine started running, the driver discovered that the brake had failed when he was approaching the motorcycle conveying Ibitolu.
"He tried to stop the bus from hitting the okada but he failed. She fell off the motorcycle and was rushed to a hospital at Okefia, but she died there.
One of the members of the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students at the OAU, Mr. Timothy Agbor, told our correspondent that Ibitolu, was a member of the fellowship.
Agbor said, "I was shocked when somebody called and informed me that she died in an accident. Mary was a God-fearing lady. I can't believe she is gone."
He added that a requiem Mass was ongoing for the deceased at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osogbo as of the time of filing this report.
The bus and the motorcycle were said to have been taken to the Dada Estate Police Station.
Although the vehicle was seen at the station, policemen at the counter declined comment on the accident. They referred our correspondent to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro.
However, efforts to speak to the PPRO proved abortive as calls made to her phone did not connect.

Okada Riders On Rampage In Lekki...many injured, properties destroyed

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Pandemonium broke out on Wednesday in the Lekki area of Lagos State after some commercial motorcyclists (okada) took to the streets to protest against the arrest of some of their colleagues by policemen from the Maroko division.
The policemen were said to be acting on the directive of the residents' association to stop the operation of the okada riders in the highbrow area.
It was learnt that more than 15 vehicles parked on some roads in the Lekki Estate Phase 1 were damaged, while many residents were injured.
A security officer in the estate, who was reportedly attacked, lost consciousness.

It was learnt that some of the riders wielded cutlasses and held residents hostage.
They were also said to have barricaded the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge for more than one hour and chased policemen in the estate away.
A resident, who did not identify himself, explained that the riders were banned from operating in the estate about a year ago, but the general elections prevented the police from enforcing the ban.
He said trouble started after policemen from the Maroko division started making arrests on Wednesday.
He said, "Before now, the Lekki Phase 1 Residents' Association placed a ban on the activities of commercial motorcyclists in the estate. We had been fighting them for about a year, but every day, they grew bolder and increased in number.
"During the general elections period, they became friends with the politicians and it became difficult to stop them from operating.
"Later, the residents had a meeting with policemen from the Maroko division to assist in flushing out the motorcyclists.
"This morning, the policemen started arresting the okada riders. The motorcyclists then mobilised and returned to wreak havoc on the estate."

One of those injured during the fracas, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said it was a "traumatic experience" that he would never forget.
He said, "They left the police who were arresting them and started attacking residents. They cannot be less than 50. They came to the residents' association's secretariat and chased away the policemen that were there and started breaking into offices in the estate.
"I was in one of the offices, we were about three in number, and we had to lie down. They broke the windows. God saved us.
"One of us was seriously injured, while I had bruises. The motorcyclists entered into the estate and started vandalising vehicles. My vehicle was also affected. I fled the place in panic."
The witness said the residents' association wanted to get rid of the okada riders because of their menace, adding that security had been affected by the influx of the motorcyclists.

The Chairman of the Lekki Phase 1 Residents' Association, Mr. Obiora Agbu, disclosed that some auditors working with them were injured.
He said, "Some auditors working in our office were injured. One of our security men was left unconscious and had to be rushed to the hospital. They vandalised no fewer than 15 vehicles in the estate.
"They barricaded Admiralty Way. There was no free flow of traffic for about one hour. They blocked the bridge. It was really terrible."

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said the incident was unfortunate.
He said, "What the residents say they want is in line with keeping their neighbourhood safe. If you identify the cause of crime in your area and you want to stop it, I don't understand why anyone should be crying more than the bereaved. There are places in Lagos where okada riders are not allowed to operate at all and nobody is complaining.
"This morning, the motorcyclists attempted to breach the public peace and we advised them against it. Those who refused and went ahead to foment trouble were arrested by our men. We have restored sanity to the area and everyone has started going about their lawful duties."

President Jonathan Celebrates 'Five Years' As Nigerian President With Special Prayers

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday marked five years since he took over the mantle of the nation's leadership.‎
It will be recalled that Jonathan was on May 6, 2010 inaugurated as the President by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu.
That followed the death on May 5, 2010 of the late President Umaru Yar'Adua who he served for three years as Vice President.
The nation's constitution recommends that the Vice President automatically takes over upon the death of the President.
After completing Yar'Adua's tenure, Jonathan contested and won the 2011 presidential election but lost his re-election bid in 2015.
The President however marked the fifth anniversary of his Presidency in a low-key manner.
As the day coincided with the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council, he only asked two ministers to pray according to the Christian and Islamic injunctions.
That was a clear departure from the past when the second stanza of the National Anthem was always used as the opening prayers during the council meetings.
The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo; and the Minister of State for Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, took turn to render special prayers for the President, his family and the nation.
Jonathan took the council members by surprise when he arrived the Council Chambers and announced that a member was celebrating his birthday.
When members could not identify the celebrant, the President came to their aid, saying it was the anniversary of his Presidency.
They all clapped to the admiration of Jonathan.
"Today, we will not say the national prayer. Somebody is celebrating birthday, so we will offer special prayers for him. Two very godly people will pray, Nebo and Yuguda. Do you know the person (celebrating)?" the President had asked.
"On May 6, exactly five years today, I was sworn-in as substantive President," he explained later.

OMG! Lagos Pastor Runs Away With 10M Loan Obtained By Businessman To Start A New Venture..."I asked him to help me pray on it"

Life for a certain Lagos State based business man hasn't remained same after the visited his Pastor and gave him N10 million to pray over it before he could use the money to start a business.
The pastor who has been identified as Timothy Gabriel is from Ihite, Anambra State, eastern Nigeria, resides at Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, where he also uses as his church and where the incident happened.
It was gathered that the victim (namewithheld) reportedly obtained the loan from a bank with an interest which he intended to use to start a new business.
Before the victim went to the bank to process the loan, he informed the pastor whom he regarded as his spiritual father.
The pastor promised him that he would offer prayers to God so that the loan would be obtained successfully..
When the victim finally got the loan, he  informed the pastor about it and  the pastor told him that he had a revelation from God that the money was a blood money and if he used it for the business he intended to use it for, it will be unsuccessful.
The dubious cleric reportedly told him that he should bring the money so that he would anoint it and offer some prayers for three days before he would use it to start the business.
Subsequently, the businessman took the money to him at his home at Jakande Estate which also serves as his church.
The pastor told him to come back in three days' time to collect the money and start the business.
The victim, who did not suspect any foul play, went back to his base and when he returned to collect his money from the pastor, the man had packed his property and fled with the money.
He became confused and did not know what to do initially but later went to the police and reported the matter.
Meanwhile, the Police sources at Ejigbo Division confirmed the incident and have their ears and toes on ground to trail the fake pastor.

Real Madrid have kept their place at the top of the Forbes' list of the most valuable football teams in the world  despite a five per cent
decrease in their value.
The club have led the rankings since displacing Manchester United in 2013 and with a value of
€2.9 billion are once again at the summit ahead of arch rivals Barcelona (€2.8bn).
The reigning European champions' total revenue of €658 million is the highest of any sports team on the planet.
Eight Premier League teams feature in the top 20 of Forbes' list, which is put together by using equity and net debt based on current stadium deals, pre-tax operating income and player
trading.

United, whose operating income of €186 million dwarfs that of any other club, are third on the list with a value of €2.7bn. Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are also in the top 10.
The value of Premier League teams seems likely to only increase thanks to a new domestic TV deal that pays an average of €2.3bn annually for three years starting from the 2016-17 season.
Forbes says that when the Premier League's international rights are finalised at the end of the year, its total media rights will surpass €3.5bn - second only to the NFL's national rights (€4.4bn).‎
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are fourth on the list, with Serie A duo Juventus and Milan who suffered a 10 per cent drop in value rounding off the top 10.

Messi Double Hands Barca Vital Win

No comments :

Barcelona's Lionel Messi struck twice and set up Neymar in the final 13 minutes as Pep Guardiola's return to the Camp Nou as Bayern Munich coach ended in a 3-0 defeat in the
first leg of their Champions League semifinal.
On his 100th appearance in European football, Messi's double moved him back ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo as the all time leading scorer in the Champions League and Barca to the brink of their first final in four years.

Manuel Neuer had kept Bayern in the game with a string of fine saves, but was helpless as Messi drilled home the opener from the
edge of the area in the 77th minute and then delightfully chipped the German three minutes later.
Messi then fed Neymar in stoppage time to roll past Neuer and hand Bayern an almost impossible task in next week's second-leg.
