Impeached Speaker, Patricia Etteh Graduates From Buckingham University

Rt Hon Patricia Olubunmi Etteh, Nigeria's first female Speaker of the House of Representatives, was one time accused of attempting to steal, tagged an 'illiterate hair dresser,' but today, she is a proud Law graduate from Buckingham University.

Mrs. Etteh was evicted from her leadership position in the House of Representatives amidst a blistering scandal in October, 2007. Barely four months after she was 'unanimously' voted into leadership of the House, her colleagues turned on her and demanded that she step down from her exalted position following accusations of corruption.

According to a report by the legislators, the speaker signed off on a contract that would see the spending of N628m for the renovation of her official home and that of her deputy as well as the purchase of 12 official vehicles. The legislators insisted that the award of the contract did not follow due process.

Mrs. Etteh's removal continues to stir controversies today as some people say the former speaker's removal was "driven by anti-gender sentiments". She is aged 61.

She was recently reported to have dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party For the All People Congress.

Or was the producer insinuating that GEJ is vexing that Yomi Casual sew the same attire he made for him for GNB also?

Tiwa Savage: This Is The Medical Repercussion Of Mrs Billz' Stage Twerking According To A Doctor

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Does twerking pose any danger to a pregnant woman? At what point does it becomes a risk? Several questions has followed the video clips of Marvin Records singer, Tiwa Savage on stage in Uganda.

Entertainment Express sought the view of Doctor Temitope Omole (@OmoleMD) who is based in Shagamu, Ogun State.

According to the young Doctor, the energetic gyration by the Eminado crooner poses little or no risk to her unborn child but he quickly adds a warning.

It would be recalled that celebrity chereographer, Kafayat Shafau popularly known as Kaffy has been spotted on stage performing usually until her final stages of pregnancy.‎
"Well that that was unexpected and energetic but in all it poses little or no danger at all to the baby because the baby is suspended perpetually in an ocean-like fluid medium which serve as massive cushion for any pressure from outside," Doctor Omole explains in simple terms.
He continued, "as she dances the fluid move in a back and forth movement as well as up and down but the baby doesn't feel any different from when the mother was lying calmly in bed."

Asked further how far the singer can go with such acrobatic performances, Doctor Omole expressed some caution.
"She would need to slow down towards the terminal stages of the pregnancy because by then, the baby is preparing to come out of the womb and all the "luxury" protective system too will slow down so as "make the womb less comfortable" thus send an undirect message to the baby that says,  "hey dude, this is not your final abode, you are getting too old to remain here. You gotta move on."
"So I'm saying towards the end of third trimester, she should slow down but notwithstanding it doesn't portend any danger "provided there are no underlying pathologies". Well, I guess we can't totally avoid technical jargons afterall any major danger.

#ShoroNiyen! I Went Into Reggae Because Of The Ladies -Patoranking

No comments :

Who would believe Patoranking came into the music industry barely 14 months ago? The young once upon a time rat poison seller has transformed into one of the most sought after artistes. Currently, he is MTV Base artiste of the month.

Even as a reggae artiste, Patoranking has revived the genre and now, everybody, especially the ladies, love him.

Indeed, he said in a recent chat with Saturday Beats that he chose reggae genre because of the ladies.
"One of the reasons I chose reggae even though it might sound funny is because of the girls. I remember back then in secondary school, if you did not know how to mime songs, you could not get the girls and I like standing out. I thought it would be wise for me to mime the songs that my colleagues won't know. I listened to more reggae songs. Whenever I did that, the girls were always impressed. I listened to a lot of Bob Marley and Lucky Dube's songs," he said.

Known to have female artistes dance erotically for him, popular singers like Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay are also among the female singers who 'twerk' for him on stage.
"It is not that the female singers just twerk for me, it is a performance and we make sure we give people what they want. Most people think they twerk for me and I get aroused or 'catch feelings' but I don't even respond to stimuli at all. We are just trying to make it look like what they do abroad. You see the likes of Beyonce twerking for Kanye. It is just a stage performance," Patoranking said.

And as he has a lot of female fans, Patorankng told Saturday Beats that marriage is not on the cards for him as he does not have a girlfriend.
"If I tell you that I want to marry right now, would you not lie me down and beat me? I am single and ready to mingle. Right now, I am just concerned about my career and family. Marriage is not in the question for me. I don't have a girlfriend. I am not a promiscuous fellow and if I ever need to blow off steam, I would rather make use of soap in the bathroom than be with random girls," he said jokingly.

THE Presidential Candidate of the United Progressive Party, UPP, Chief Chekwas Okorie has disassociated his party from its recent inclusion of political parties loyal to the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential election.
Chief Okorie described the inclusion of his party in the alleged loyalty to the APC presidential candidate as "inconceivable, malicious and a wicked political blackmail to drag the name of our Party to a gang-up we know nothing about."
He further added, "We have tried to the best of our ability to avoid hate-speeches, campaign of calumny, denigration of elder statesmen and public office holders and the use of acerbic language likely to heat up the polity in all our campaign up till this time."
In a statement through the Director-General, Chekwas Okorie Presidential Campaign Orgonisation, COPCO, Dr. Ugorji O. Ugorji, in Abuja, weekend, Chief Okorie said he found the inclusion of UPP in the midst of 12 political parties that had pledged loyalty to the APC's Presidential candidate insulting.
According to him, "We find the inclusion of our name in the list of these compromising Political Parties in absolute bad test."
He said that UPP in its inaugural National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of 13th November 2012 zoned its Presidential slot to the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria and that the policy statement was actualized on the 11th of December, 2014 at the Party's National Convention held at Aba where he emerged as the presidential flag bearer and Alhaji Bello Umar as vice presidential candidate.
He further said that the UPP had commenced campaign for the coveted office of President thereafter with as much commitment and diligence as it could muster, adding, "It is a common knowledge that our Presidential Candidate Chief (Dr) Chekwas Okorie has emerged as one of the three foremost contenders for the office of President of Nigeria."

INEC Chair Jega Supports APC, Tackles Police IG's 'Vote and Go Home' Order

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, and the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on Friday clashed over the police chief's "vote and go home order."

While the IGP had warned voters to go back to their homes after casting their votes on election days, Jega said the electoral law did not state that voters could not or should not wait to watch and ensure that their votes count.

The IGP, who addressed accredited observers for the forthcoming general elections in Abuja, said the possibility of committing electoral offence was very high if voters stayed back at the polling booths for votes to be counted.

He said that each polling unit would have at least two or three policemen to protect votes cast by the electorate.‎
"We will go on to protect the electorate. Every eligible voter should feel safe enough to cast his votes. We will be there to protect the votes and make sure no one disrupts the process," Abba said

But Jega disagreed with the police chief.

The INEC chairman, who appeared as a guest on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily on Friday, said there is no part of the Electoral Act that forbids voters from waiting at the polling booths, adding that the law was only against loitering.

Also, Jega's Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kayode Idowu, stressed the position of the commission's boss, adding that no law bars voters from staying around polling centres.
He said, "Jega did not contradict the IGP; he did not contradict anything that is in the law and what the IGP said. What the IGP said was that this regulation of INEC that says people can stay back in polling units, that he is uncomfortable about it because the Electoral Act provides that anybody who loiters around the polling units or commits an electoral offence can be prosecuted.
"He said if you stay at the polling unit, there is a very high chance that you will commit an electoral offense. People who loiter within the polling units do not have legitimate business.
"That was exactly what Jega said, that if you want to stay, you must stay on the condition that your conduct will not constitute an electoral offense. You will not abuse people, you will not be aggressive towards people, you will be calm and you will not be unruly. As such, the security agents will not apprehend you."

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has begged the striking lecturers of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, to return to classrooms to prevent disruption of academic calendar.

Fayose, who appealed to the lecturers to show understanding over non-payment of the September 2014 subvention owed by ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi's administration said the future of the students would have to be prioritised in the interest of all.

The governor spoke at the university's convocation ceremony where no fewer than 6,807 were conferred with Degree and Post Graduate Degree awards in various courses.

The lecturers have declared an indefinite strike over non-payment of their two-month salaries of January and February.

Fayose, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Olusola Kolapo, said "You can all attest to the fact that Governor Fayose is passionate about the payment of salaries and other benefits. ‎
"We are begging for your understanding on this issue because allowing the academic calendar to be disrupted may not be in the interest of these students, whose parents have so much invested in.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Patrick Aina, expressed delight over the accreditation granted the institution's College of Medicine by National Universities Commission, saying "the result of the Medical and Dental Council is still being awaited, but with good prognosis."

Disregard Police IG Instruction -APC Urges Voters

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
All Progressives Congress (APC) has told Nigerian voters to ignore the unlawful order by the Inspector-General of Police urging them to go home after casting their ballots during the forthcoming elections.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the electorate should rather listen to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, who said the electoral law does not state anywhere that voters cannot or should not wait to watch and ensure that their votes are counted.

It therefore urged the electorate to make sure they stayed behind to protect their votes after casting their ballots, as was the case in 2011.

APC said contrary to the suspicious directive by the IGP, INEC encourages voters to stay behind and watch their votes counted, saying the law expects such voters to stay behind but to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.‎
"According to Jega, who appeared on Channels TV on Friday morning, the electoral law says anyone that has no business with the electoral process at the polling booths but desires to monitor events should stay at least some metres away from the polling agents and completely away from the ballot box after casting their votes.
"The INEC Chairman further clarified that all registered voters have businesses with the process and can therefore not be classified as people that don't have businesses at polling units.
"Therefore, the IGP has no constitutional right or powers under the constitution or Police Act to rewrite the electoral law. The role of the police is to maintain law and order or such other assistance as may be sought from the police by INEC," the party said.

Segun Adewale, the Peoples Democratic Party, candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District in the coming general elections, has dismissed allegation that he was a cultist in school or an armed robber.

Adewale said this during an interview to negate the statement of cultism and armed robbery made by his major opponent, in the forth coming election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Lagos West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.

According to him, he attended the Universtiy of Ibadan for his first degree and Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo for his second degree and his records in both institutions are verifiable.‎
"These are reputable institutions in Nigeria, anybody can go there and verify my records. I have unblemished record in both institutions," he said.

Adewale, popularly called Aeroland, said that his opponent has to prove the allegations he publicly raised against him or he will seek legal redress. "I have put my lawyers on alert and if he does not prove these allegations, then we will seek legal redress," he said.

According to him, while in the university, he has a group of students he relate and always interact with. "They believe in my ideology and they love and respect me a lot. This is what he called being a cultist. The records are there at the University of Ibadan, anybody can go and verify my records," he said.

According to him, APC and Adeola are creating a demon out of him because they are afraid of his growing popularity and the fact that he is set to defeat Adeola at the general elections.

Why Buhari/Osinbajo Cannot Win

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Senator Smart Adeyemi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) did not do a good job in fielding Gen Muhammadu Buhari and Prof Yemi Osinbajo as its presidential and vice presidential candidates, respectively, saying they have committed two major mistakes against God and Nigerians.

Adeyemi said in an interview in Abuja yesterday that the party offended Nigerians by presenting Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Retd), on the electorate while his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a man of God, according to him, offended God by abandoning his pastoral calling.

He said APC made "a grievous mistake by picking Buhari as its presidential candidate and they capped that up by bringing Prof. Osinbajo. They went and lured a man of God from the church to join a dictator. He should be prepared to do restitution after March 28.

"By foisting Buhari on Nigerians; a man who ordinarily should be asking for forgiveness and doing restitution in his old age, the APC has wronged Nigerians. This is a man who is not even in tune with economic realities…"

He continued, "APC lured a man to betray his divine calling. Osinbajo should not be allowed to go back to Redeemed. He has betrayed the sheep he's pastoring. I'm ashamed that he has betrayed his calling…

"He should undergo restitution and purification. Why? Because he has mingled in sinful activities. He has joined people in maligning a man chosen by God to lead Nigeria and left the path to align with a man that sinned against God and Nigerians.

"He's now celebrating a dictator against the Nigerian people. It was Buhari who jailed people 150 years and 200 years in prison when he was head of state. Where have you ever heard of such sentences? If he thinks some people have forgotten, we have not.

The APC is a party that has been formed purely for vendetta purposes; the APC is only out to retaliate and settle scores with people and its unfortunate that a man of God is in cahoots with these group of people. The APC was formed purely for business purposes.

"Buhari today should be kept in isolation, praying for forgiveness of sins against God and the Nigerian people; for the oppression of the Nigerian people and the draconian laws he foisted on the people."

Senator Adeyemi insisted that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win the March 28 and April 11 polls with a landslide.

Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Afenifere leader, says he can never forgive the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), because of the sins he committed against Yoruba leaders while he was head of state between December 1983 and August 1985.

The 87-year-old, who was a close associate of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, disclosed this at a post-National Conference in Lagos titled, 'Into tomorrow and beyond' on Thursday. said Buhari locked up all the Yoruba governors after overthrowing the Shehu Shagari government.

Adebanjo in his words said,
"Back then, Awolowo warned Shagari that his government would soon hit the rock if he did not put things in order. Shortly after, in December 1983, Buhari overthrew the government but the man that was speaking against Shagari (Awolowo), was harrassed by Buhari.
"Buhari picked up all the Yoruba governors: Adekunle Ajasin (Ondo State); Olabisi Onabanjo (Ogun) and others, who were true progressives and locked them up.
"Somebody said I am a Christian and I should forgive Buhari but I said I cannot forgive such. Ajasin's children say they have forgiven Buhari but I am not in their party, I can't forgive him."

He also urged Yoruba to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan next week as he had promised to implement the report of the confab which the north stood against.

He also dismissed claims that he and other Afenifere leaders had been bribed by Jonathan.

He said, ‎
"I am saying vote Jonathan not because he is Ijaw or from the South-South. No northerner will convoke a national conference because everything we are talking of that has been unfavourable to the South; they (North) are the beneficiaries."
