I am afraid of divorce...Genevieve Nnaji reveals why she is still single

The dream of every woman is to find a man to spend her entire life with.  Even the Holy religious books have enjoined men and women, to seek each other out and co-habit as man and wife. But as beautiful and simple as this may sound, marriage has long gone from being a simple item on a menu, it has become a task, as finding a true life partner has become as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack. It is particularly more difficult for the women folks as they have to be proposed to.

As liberated as our society is now, it is hard to find a woman that would go out of her way to propose to a man. The norm is the other way round. So, for a woman, waiting to get a marriage proposal may me as certain as waiting for the proverbial hen to play a golden egg. It doesn't have to do with beauty, wealth or status, or else all the Nollywood divas would have been long married before they hit their 30s. Why are these ladies still single in spite of their relative affluence and beauty?

Despite probably being the most popular name in Nollywood, screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji is yet to find a man to call her own. One name that has been linked to the pretty actress is that of the self acclaimed 'Koko master', D'Banj.
The Imo State-born screen diva is a single-mother who revealed in an interview that she is still single because she is afraid of divorce. "If I get married, I really want to stay married and staying married is not an easy thing. It means you are completely in tune with your partner. It means you have found your soulmate because you will have to be able to stand a lot of disappointments that would definitely come but then again you have to learn to forgive," she said.

Chibok girls will never return intact -Obasanjo Throws Another Bombshell

Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has advised Nigerians against hoping that the remaining 219 Chibok schoolgirls still being detained by Boko Haram insurgents since April 14 this year will ever return intact.

Obasanjo, who spoke in an interview with Radio France International monitored in Abuja, feared that it would take years to rescue the girls, owing to the failure of the federal government to act swiftly within 48 hours after the abduction took place.

The former president categorically stated that anyone who believes that the Chibok girls would be rescued without scratches "must be daydreaming," stressing that, "We will never be able to get those girls together again. And the stories of those girls will go on for the next 30 years. Some of them will come out when they are adults or sent back when they are impregnated by their captors."

Obasanjo went on to take pot shot at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in the Southwest, Chief Kashamu Buruji, insisting that the chieftain was a wanted drug baron and maintained that it was shameful for the PDP and the presidency to be "hobnobbing" with him.

According to him, "He is somebody who has been indicted in the United States as a drug baron, and for a political party and the presidency to be hobnobbing with him leaves much to be desired."

Ahead of the governorship election in 2015, the APC in Ogun on Tuesday chose Mrs Yetunde Onanuga as the running mate of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun.

Onanuga, 54, hails from Aparaki in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.
Until her selection, she was a Director of Finance and Administration in the Ministry of Environment in Lagos State.

Onanuga, who holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) and a Masters degree in Business Administration, was formally presented by the Chairman of the party, Alhaji Rokeeb Adeniyi.

The running mate, in an interview with newsmen, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the party and pledged her loyalty to the governor and the people of the state.

"There is no doubt before somebody can emerge, that person must have been a bit loyal. But on emergence, that loyalty‎ has to be in full.

"Now that I've emerged, I want to be loyal to the people, loyal to my governor, loyal to the elders and to the youths and to women and all people of Ogun State,'' she said.

Onanuga dismissed the view that deputy governors were "spare tyres,'' insisting they should be seen as help mates.

"They are there to assist the governor in achieving his aim.

"I agree that deputy governors should be given portfolio and this depends on what my governor decides to do.

"If he decides otherwise, I will take my position; I will work assiduously to achieve my aim in the state,'' she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incumbent deputy governor, Mr Segun Adesegun, had since defected to the Social Democratic Party in order to run for the governorship position.

"The state Command wishes to inform the general public that the use of fireworks is banned. Parents are therefore advised to warn their wards to desist from its use to avoid being caught on the wrong side of the law as defaulters will be punished", he said.

Like Really? Fayose Presents Budget Before 7 Out Of 26 Members of State Assembly

Ekiti State  Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose has presented N80.774 billion  budget estimate to seven Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members of the House of Assembly  for the 2015 fiscal year.
However, the Chamber was parked full of non-legislators.

Christened "budget of reality" yesterday's presentation represents 77.7 per cent of the 2014 budget of N103.8 billion by  the immediate past Governor of the state,Dr Kayode Fayemi.
During yesterday's budget presentation which took place at the floor of the state House of Assembly, members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmakers  were absent.

The assembly's gallery was, however, filled up to the brim as politicians, traditional rulers and captains of industries were in attendance.

Fayose on the occasion said the state government decided to reduce the budget to a more pragmatic and realistic one that would bring possible results to the people of the state.

Ekiti APC disapproves the presentation
Meantime, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in  the state has condemned the attitude of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, for presenting the 2015 Budget to seven of the 26-member of the House of Assembly in less than 20 minutes.
According to Ekiti State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the manner of the presentation of the budget by the Governor was constitutional breach, illegal and absurd.
The APC  therefore counselled the governor to follow legal steps in the governance and financial management of the state.
''Seven members of PDP in the Assembly had earlier sat to illegally confirm commissioner-nominees and approve the dissolution and reconstitution of the local governments, among others.
''Monday's illegal sitting with a full house of thugs was a new dimension to the constitutional breaches and lawlessness by the Executive.
"We never knew that Ekiti people could be brought to this low record in decency and respect for the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by herding thugs to the House of Assembly to join seven members to present state budget.
"The standard practice is for the governor to present the state budget to members in full session while the public sit at the gallery to watch proceedings. But in this instance, thugs intermingled with the lawmakers in a plenary in such a way that you cannot differentiate a lawmaker from a thug," Olatunbosun said.
''The APC spokesman further criticized the barring of journalists, including the in-house correspondents, from covering the event, even as he berated the governor for rallying reporters to the Assembly after presenting the budget at the illegal sitting for a press briefing. He asked journalists to be professional in their duties to save democracy.
Olatunbosun's words: "What is the use of calling reporters you intentionally barred from covering the main budget presentation to a post-budget presentation briefing if not to cover up the thugs that sat with the seven members to conduct that illegal sitting? This is time for activism in journalism. Reporters must begin to ask questions on the abnormality and breaches of the Constitution in governance process."

To this end, Olatunbosun called the attention of Nigerians and lovers of democracy around the world to the reign of impunity in Ekiti State. He urged all organs and agencies of government responsible for budget processing not to get themselves involved in any financial transactions based on the "illegal budget", saying all actions on the budget and transactions involving the features of the budget are illegal until it is legally presented to a legally constituted House of Assembly composed of 19 members of APC and their seven colleagues in PDP.

In like manner, he urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC,  to beam their lights on government financial transactions in Ekiti State in the face of mindless plot to defraud Ekiti people through illegal conduct in the financial management of public funds.

Tell your runaway lawmakers to return, Fayose tells APC
In a swift reaction, Governor Ayodele Fayose has told the All APC in the State to bring back the party's runaway lawmakers to the State, saying; "No individual, group or political party can hold the State to ransom."
Reacting to the party's condemnation of Governor Fayose's presentation of the 2015 Budget to the House of Assembly, Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said: "It is shameful and wicked for the APC and its leaders to think that they can hold the entire people of Ekiti down just because they lost power."
Olayinka, who warned the APC lawmakers of the consequences of losing their seats should they continue to abdicate their legislative duties, added that; "by the rule of the House of Assembly, each member must attend the House sittings for 181 days in a year."
He said the sitting of the House in which the 2015 Budget was presented was lawful.
"The court of law is there for the loud-mouth in the APC to approach if they have any genuine complain to make.
"Today is December 15 (yesterday) and the APC lawmakers know that 2015 Budget must be presented as provided by the 1999 Constitution. Yet, some of the APC lawmakers refused to report in the House of Assembly, except three of them, who are interested in the progress and development of the State."

THE wife of the Pastor Chris Aniamaka in charge of Dominion City, Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Pastor (Mrs.) Ifeanyi Aniamaka was weekend kidnapped by unknown gunmen at her residence in Abakaliki.

Vanguard reports that the victim who was trailed with a yellow bus while she was driving in her KIA Rio car with registration number DK487BEN, was intercepted at her residence in Onwe Nkam street, Democracy Estate, Abakaliki and kidnapped.
The incident which took place at 3pm of the fateful day took both the victim's neighbours and church members by surprise as such case was the first in that area.

In a chat with Vanguard, the husband of the victim and pastor of Dominion City, Kpirikpiri, Pastor Aniamaka called on the church and security agents across the state to ensure a speedy release of his wife from her abductors.

He said: "My brother this incident came as a shock to me; we just finished our thanksgiving service for the year and my wife decided to drive the children home and they were intercepted at our residence.
"From the account of my children who were instructed to come down from the vehicle before the kidnappers took my wife away, the kidnappers followed them gradually from behind until they got to our residence in Democracy Estate.
"They threatened my wife with a gun and told my children to come down from the car before they drove away".

Vanguard gathered that the kidnappers who are still suspected to be in Ebonyi State had made contact with the family, demanding the sum of N20 million for the release of the suspect.
Recall that two (2) weeks ago that a Deacon and Deaconness (names withheld) of Assemblies of God Church in Abakaliki were kidnapped and later released by their abductors after paying a ransom.
It is believed that a syndicate comprising some young men had decided to terrorize churches in Abakaliki by kidnapping members believed to be wealthy in the State.

A source close to the Ebonyi State Police Command who confirmed the incident stated that the police had visited the scene of the incident and that it was working assiduously to ensure the release of the victim.‎

Obasanjo is a liar, he wants to rule Nigeria till he dies -Buruji Kashamu

CHAIRMAN, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South west, Prince Buruji Kashamu yesterday berated former President Olusegun Obasanjo's new book 'My watch', saying it is full full of lies, blackmail and also lacks credibility.

He said Obasanjo's book was out to portray President Goodluck Jonathan's administration in a bad light adding that the former President "blames everybody else for everything but himself."

Addressing newsmen in Lagos, the PDP chieftain said "Obasanjo's open and mischievous criticism of the Jonathan administration, if anything, is drawing more sympathy for it, as one that is making a complete break with the past where impunity and lawlessness reigned. This is so because the issue is not so much about whether he claims are true or not, but because of who is making the claims and his manner of presentation.‎
The messenger lacks credibility and his message is heavily laced with bellicose, to say the least."
While he described Obasanjo's eight year administration as not profitable to Nigerians, he said "Chief Obasanjo's conduct in and out office does not support his claim of being a law abiding citizen.
It is on record that while in office as a democratically elected president, he disobeyed court judgements, even those of the supreme Court, with reckless abandon."

Speaking further, he said "Obasanjo's sole agenda is to be in charge of Nigeria till he dies. He has vowed to frustrate President Jonathan or any Nigerian leader who does not do his bidding and that is just what he is doing."
On the botched Third Term Agenda of the former President, he said "Chief Obasanjo said hour didn't say he was not aware of third term but that he was not the mastermind.
What does that mean? Living in self denial. Speaking from both sides of the mouth, blowing hot and cold. He was not the mastermind, he was aware, he claims. Yet he did nothing. But if it had sailed through, Chief Obasanjo would have been the ultimate beneficiary."
"The incontrovertible fact is that he was the mastermind and did so much to reign in or crush anyone who was opposed to it," he said.
He also appealed to leaders from the southwest to not to be deceived by Obasanjo's antics saying
"Obasanjo does not like Nigeria at all, for him to have written such a book. Let us be vigilant and not be deceived by Obasanjo. If we compare Obasanjo and Jonathan, you will see that there is a difference between the two of them."

Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, watched  in admiration how a drone built  by a corps member posted to Osun State took off and carried out surveillance of the parade ground at the Permanent Orientation Camp of the National Youth Service Corps on Monday.

The corps member, Olaolu Ayoola, a graduate of Computer Science/Engineering of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, stole the show with his invention  during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2014 batch 'C' of corps members deployed in the state.
The drone, which soldiers and other security agents present at the event, described as a good invention, flew for about 10 minutes before it landed.
The device is fixed with surveillance camera, and can stay in the air for 20 minutes and is capable of flying up for 500 meters.

The device with remote control has 2.4G radio transmitter and carried  out live recording of the event which was monitored on a black berry phone.
Ayoola told our correspondent in an interview that his love  for aeronautics drove him into engaging in the device.
Apart for military use, Ayoola said that the drone could also be used by politicians to hoist their flags and could also be used to monitor activities on large farms.

He said, "This type of drone, if fully developed, could be used by farmers. You can deploy it to fly round a farm of about 20 hectares and you will monitor what is going on on the farm right from where the remote control is.
"It can be used to monitor traffic situation and in case of flooding,  the drone can monitor the area.
"I spent over N20,000.00 to build this but I can do something with a bigger capacity and which will stay for more hours in the air if fund is available."
The deputy governor who said she was impressed with the drone said the corps member should assembly youths anywhere he was posted to serve and teach them how to do this kind of invention.
The State Coordinator, Mr. Abada Okpiroro, also commended the corps member for the drone.
