The new single features popular Fuji star, Wasiu Alabi a.k.a Pasuma Wonder who, according to the 72 year-old actress, also features prominently on the album.

In her words, the lady evangelist/prophetess said,‎
'I have a full gospel album recorded and ready for release already. The album was recorded with Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, and it talks about how God is a politician. I've decided not to disclose the name of the album for now; we'll be releasing some hot singles off the album first before the launch proper'.

Iya Rainbow began her acting career in 1986 and is believed to have acted in over 500 Yoruba films.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control on Tuesday dragged one Akintunde Smith before a Federal High Court in Lagos for allegedly distilling a beverage drink, Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, without lawful authority.

But Smith, who appeared before Justice Okon Abang without any legal representation, maintained that he was not guilty of the offence.

However, in the charge numbered FHC/L/20c/15 brought before the court, the NAFDAC prosecutor, Umar Shamaki, alleged that Smith committed the offence on or about January 15, 2015 on Omotara Street, Aguda, Lagos.

The accused was slammed with three counts in relation to the offence, which according to Shamaki, is contrary to Section 1 of the Food, Drugs and Related Products (Registration) Act, Cap F33, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and punishable under Section 6 (1) of the same Act.

The prosecutor said, "The offence is also contrary to Section 1 (a) of the Unwholesome Processed Foods (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, Cap C34, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and punishable under Section 3 (1) (a) of the same Act."

In addition, the prosecutor said that having allegedly labelled the product as Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, in a manner that was false, Smith had also violated Section 5 (a) of the Food and Drugs Act, Cap F32, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and was liable to be punished under Section 17 (1) of the same Act.

Having taken the plea of the accused, the trial judge, Abang, said he should get himself a lawyer to defend him.

The judge, while adjourning till May 6 and 7 for NAFDAC to commence trial added that the accused could apply for bail pending that time.

The judge also ordered that Smith should be remanded in custody.

Market women, friends and sympathisers on Wednesday converged on Queen Street in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State to mourn the Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Yaba Unit, Babajide Dosunmu, a.k.a Mados, who was killed by some yet-to-be identified gunmen.

Forty six-year-old Mados, who was also said to be the Vice Chairman, Lagos Mainland branch of the NURTW, was reportedly shot dead at the back of his house by the assailants while parking his car.

It was learnt that the incident happened around 8pm on Tuesday, shortly after the deceased returned from his office on Cemetery Street. The gunmen, it was gathered, had trailed him from the office.

He was said to have been fell by a bullet that hit him in the leg when he attempted to run for his life. Not done, the gang allegedly shot him in the buttock, while another bullet pierced his heart region, leaving him in a pool of blood.

Our correspondent, who visited the area, observed that the incident had created panic as commercial activities in the Oyingbo area were partly grounded as of 1pm on Wednesday.

A resident, Alhaja Nike Tiamiyu, said Mados was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. She added that policemen from the Denton Police Station had visited the area.

She said, "When I heard the shots, I thought they were fireworks until a few minutes later when my daughter rushed in and said Mados was shot. On getting outside, crowd had gathered, trying to save him. His cloth was full of blood. One of the bullets tore his leg. Another one hit him from the back and left a hole in his chest. He later died at a hospital.‎
"It is very painful. Mandos was generous. He assisted the people with money. His corpse will be buried in Ikorodu today (Wednesday) according to Islamic rites."

Some transport workers, who declined to give their names, said the father of six was killed by a rival group in a bid to take control of motor parks in the Tarmac area, Oyingbo, which were under Mandos. They, however, did not name the group.

One of them said, "We know who did this. He escaped a similar attack last week and now they have killed him. They can come to eat his body. This is just the beginning."

Mandos' two wives were seen crying and also declined speaking with this reporter.

A sister of the deceased, Iyabo, described his death as a blow to the family, adding that their father was devastated by the incident.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, siad, "The police have commenced investigation. Efforts will be made to get the culprits."

The Nigeria police, in collaboration with local vigilante in Adamawa State, intercepted a truck carrying fresh human head concealed in a bag, the police and witnesses have said.

While confirming, the state police spokesman, Othman Abubakar, said the truck was intercepted by the police at a check point close to the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, formerly, Federal University of Technology Yola.

A witness also said that the truck was coming from Mubi axis into the state capital when the police manning the check point intercepted it.
"The police with the help of vigilante intercepted a truck carrying human parts. I saw a human head with fresh blood still rushing out of the lifeless head," the witness who simple identified himself as Manu said.

He said the owner of the truck claimed to have loaded it with bags of grains but underneath the bags contains human parts with fresh blood.
The source said he was at the scene when the police at the check point stopped the driver of the truck, searched the truck and found a human head with fresh blood inside one of the bags.

The Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Othman confirmed that a truck was intercepted by their men at the check point carrying human head and brought to the state command headquarters.‎
"The man is in police net, as soon as we finish investigation we will let you know," he noted.

A real estate developer, Abraham Okoro, yesterday told a Lagos Magistrate's court sitting in Ikeja how his estranged wife, Adedoyin Ogunmefun (nee Ajaba) allegedly brought another man's pregnancy to his house pleading with him to accept it.
Okoro, who was giving evidence before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe, said trouble started after the defendant lost her father in July 2000.
He said after the burial, his mother in-law, who was planning to go back to America a few weeks after, called a family meeting and said things were going to be difficult for the family after the demise of her husband.
Okoro added that after he enquired from his mother in- law what the matter was, he bought her a car to enable her move round.
The complainant, who said he formally married the defendant on June 17, 2006 and paid her dowry after two children, said he bought air ticket for his estrange wife, his two children and the mother in-law in July 2006 shortly after their marriage, for a vacation in US, stating that at the end of July, the wife came back to Nigeria and ran away with her two children on August 6, 2006.
He said she switched off her phone, but that they started living together again on Valentine 's Day of 2007.
He said his wife then became pregnant and that he rejected his wife and mother-in-law's pleading that he accept the pregnancy, because he had not touched her since the problems began.
Magistrate Komolafe adjourned the matter till April 8 for continuation of trial.

Two weeks after his lawyers issued a 'cease and desist' letter to online newspaper Sahara Reporters, former Minister of State for Defence and newly confirmed Ministerial nominee, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has sued the media outfit and its publisher, Mr. Omoyele Sowore in New York, United States of America for defamation.

Tacopina & Seigel, Senator Obanikoro's US attorneys had issued a 'cease and desist' letter to Sahara Reporters urging the media outfit to desist from further defaming Obanikoro and retract its earlier defamatory publications on the purported Ekiti audio recording, none to which Sahara Reporters complied.

In a suit filed on behalf of Senator Obanikoro at the Supreme Court of the State of New York dated 9th March 2015 by Tacopina & Seigel, the former Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana is seeking legal redress to the tune of a minimum of $5 million.

According to the suit with Index No: 152332/2015, the nature of this court action is for defamation arising from false and disparaging statements credited to the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore during a February 14, 2015 "Sit Out" and on the Sahara Reporters website;‎
"First, that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro "has killed many people in Lagos state" and is a murderer."
"And secondly, that the Sahara Reporters' website has an audio recording of a purported meeting between Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro, Governor Ayo Fayose, Ge. Aliyu Momoh and others that allegedly evidences that: (a) soldiers were paid with a "huge stash of cash" to rig an election in Ekiti; (b) Gen. Momoh was bribed "for his assistance in carrying out election fraud in Ekiti"; (c) "Governor Fayose revealed that he had already bribed an official"; (d) there was "forging in INEC ballots"; and (e) the military prevent[ed] APC voters from reaching the polls."

The relief sought is monetary damages (both compensatory and punitive) to be determined at trial, but for no less than $5,000,000, as well as prejudgment interest, and the costs and disbursements of this action.

Hearing is yet to commence in the Nigerian case filed by Senator Obanikoro against Sahara Reporters at the Ikeja High Court, Lagos where he is also seeking damages to the tune of N1 billion.

Barely five months after withdrawing a retinue of police officers and men attached to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, the Inspector General, Suleiman Abba, has returned them to the politician.

No reason was given for the re-instatement of the security men by the IG, who had insisted that he did not recognise Tambuwal as the Speaker of the House of Representatives from the moment he defected to the All Progressives Congress on October 30, 2015.

The policemen were sighted in Tambuwal's residence and office Wednesday but none was willing to speak on when they were asked to return to the APC Governorship candidate for Sokoto State.

But the Special Adviser on Media to Tambuwal, Imam Iman, confirmed on Wednesday that all the security men earlier withdrawn on the orders of the IG, had been returned to his boss.‎
"It is true that all the police officers and men attached to the Speaker are back at their duty post," Imam said.

It will be recalled that shortly after the defection of Tambuwal to the APC last year, the then Acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, had ordered the immediate withdrawal of the police personnel attached to him.

The IG defended his action and damned all the cries over it, saying that the decision was backed by relevant laws in Nigeria and could not be faulted.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, in a statement in support of the action by the IG hinged the withdrawal of Tambuwal's security aides on Section 68(1)(g) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

Statement read: "In view of the recent defection by the Right Hon. Aminu Waziri Tanbuwal, CFR, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from the People Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress and having regard to the clear provision of section 68(1)(g) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, the Nigeria Police Force, has redeployed its personnel attached to his office."

Residents of Adebayo area, Ado Ekiti, have been thrown into a mournful mood as armed robbers shot dead one Temitope Ogunleye, a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, during a midnight operation.
The ND 2 Accountancy student died when a 12-man armed robbery gang attacked his father's house at Adebayo area of the state capital.
Vanguard reported that the young man and his parents and sister, Yetunde, a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, were at home when the robbers struck.
