This is a real story of a young Ex-Unilag girl who passed away last month. Her name is Lola. She was hit by a car at Oyingbo on her way to work at Apapa. She was working with MTN. She had a boy friend named Emeka, a banker who was recently transferred to Abuja. Both of them were true lovers. She spent half of the day and most night talking with Emeka on her phone. Lola's family knew about their relationship. Emeka was very close to Lola's family in spite of the tribal differences. (just imagine their love.) Before she passed away at LUTH, she told her friends:"If I pass away, please bury me with my cell phone"She also said the same thing to her parents. After her death at LUTH, the attendants couldn't carry her body to the mortuary. A lot of them tried to do so but couldn't. So they went to call a priest in church who had the gift of communicating with the dead. He sprinkled some salt and water on the body and started speaking to himself slowly. After a few minutes, he said:"this girl is missing something". Then her friends told them about her intention to be buried with her phone. They asked them to bring a coffin, and then they opened it and placed her phone inside the casket. After that, they tried to carry the body which could now be moved and they carried it away easily. Everyone was shocked. A day later which was Lola's birthday, Emeka came to their house with gifts but was so shocked to receive the news. He couldn't believe because he still spoke with Lola the previous day, He then tried calling her phone again in their presence and behold! It rang and Lola picked it and they were chatting. They called the priest to come and intervene and when he came and prayed for 5 hours,

It was later revealed that MTN is Everywhere You Go.

Chill! Don't insult me yet, because I'm also looking for the idiot that composed this......

Lolz. But you like the gist sha! See how you concentrated on this....

How has been your day?

The English Premier league drama continues as Manager Alan pardew quits mid table Newcastle United to join relegation threatened Crystal Palace FC in a move that shocked many.

The decision of Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to offer Alan Pardew a 7 year deal following his 5th place finish in the 2011/12 premier league season was regarded by many pundits as an aberration.

We must also appreciate the fact that the team started this campaign on a poor note but a 6 match winning streak ensured that the team retained its place in the mid table to end the year.

BlackBox Nigeria understands that three factors led to the departure of Manager Alan Pardew from Saint James Park after a turbulent three years spell. The first is the lack of faith and loyalty from the clubs supporters, the manager felt after guiding the team to 5th place in the past, he deserved more than "Pardew out" from the fans.

Secondly, Alan Pardew was said to have left a transfer meeting with an abysmal morale after he was told by the club chairman Mike Ashley that he will not be given a penny for transfer when the January transfer window open.

Finally, the potential departure of Mousa Sissoko in January, which was made known to the manager in a transfer meeting was said to have angered the him.

Alan Pardew was reported to have pleaded with owner, Mike Ashley to reduce his five million pounds compensation fee to two million pounds and he has signed a four year deal worth two million pounds per year with Crystal Palace. It is also note worthy that Alan pardew is a fans favourite at the south london club.‎

Na wa o! Christ Embassy Made N25Million From Gate Fee For New Year Eve Service

Christ Embassy Church in Lagos has not been turned into show business as members were made to part with N1, 000 each as gate fee before they could enter their church to attend the New Year's Eve service, P.M.NEWS reports.

It was confirmed that only members who could afford the N1, 000 gate fee were allowed into the premises of Christ Embassy Headquarters at Oregun, Lagos, where self-styled cleric and business man, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, preached on 31 December 2010.

Indigent members who could not afford the N1, 000 tickets, were denied access and sent back by security men at the gate, it was learnt. The church, a source said, realised about N25 million from about 25, 000 members who bought the tickets. It was gathered that the church informed its members that it decided to impose a gate fee to control the huge crowd that always besiege the church on the New Year's Eve church service.

"Pastor said that to control the crowd and only allow genuine members who could do anything to be in church, it was good to pay a gate fee. Last year for instance, even senior pastors in the church could not secure a seat in the church on New Year's Eve service," our source said. The ticket, bought by our correspondent, was still on sale today, five days after the New Year's church service took place.

A copy of the ticket has the following information printed on it: "one service…different locations worldwide impact! Time: 7 pm, Venue: Loveworld Convocation Arena, N1,000, December 31st New Year's Eve Service With Pastor Chris." There is also a bold picture of Oyakhilome wearing one of his flashy suits. On the background there is a huge crowd in adulation of the man who once boasted that he will never be broke in life.

At the back of the ticket is a bold inscription : " This ticket admists one person." The development, described as scandalous by those who got a glimpse of it, is unprecedented in the history of Christianity in Nigeria. In the medieval period, similar scandals led to the break-away of Martin Luther from the Catholic church. This led to the formation of the Protestant movement.

At that time, Catholic priests were collecting money, known as indulgences, from worshippers before they could confess their sins. These indulgences had become big business in much the same way pledge drives have become big business in Nigeria. The development outraged Luther and others who kicked against it, quit the church and founded the protestant movement.

The latest scandal in Oyakhilome's church comes only weeks after he appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to answer questions on money laundering allegations. According to TheNews magazine edition of 13 December 2010, the alleged laundering of $35 million by Christ Embassy was traced by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with the help of foreign partners.

The magazine reported that Oyakhilome and money have had a bitter-sweet relationship. While money has brought him a lush lifestyle: an eye-popping auto collection, a movie-star wardrobe of stylish suits and choice properties that include a stunning church auditorium, it has also brought him an arm-long list of scandals.‎

New Year Resolutions!!! Etcetera Comes For Naija Celebs...Baba Suwe, Cossy, Omotola, Don Jazzy others called out

Former singer and fast rising punch columnists his back this weekend with his jabs at Nigerian entertainers. This time he focuses on what some celebs would probably have as their new year resolutions...it's quite hilarious though.

Every January, resolutions are made with conviction, only to be dropped like a hot akara sometime before February as unattainable, or just plain boring. All through last year, we watched our celebrities and critiqued their behaviour. Maybe we shouldn't have. Maybe we should let them make their own mistakes.

Or maybe we should assess celebrity behaviour in 2014 and determine which celebrities could use some suggestions for their New Year's Resolutions to make 2015 a great year. And that's just what we've done. So Don Jazzy, Cossy, Omosexy and others, listen up.

Afro Candy: We already know what you look like with a pubic haircut. Now can you please get into character as a Indecency-star. We've had enough of the teasers. It is becoming boring already. We want the real deal in 2015. Give us a hit movie that will make headlines and put you on magazine covers. Bare your fangs, shake that floppy Bottom and make the teenage boys happy.

Cossy: Our advice is twofold: first of all, it's clearly time to invest in some bra. This should be the year to get those bosoms cupped and wrapped up. Secondly, change your hustle. Your personality could be revealing in a talk show: put your mind to it, I am sure great offers will come in.

Baba Suwe: Egbon, we love you and we will always love to see you in as many movies as possible. But are we ever going to see you act without the black paint on your face?

Mr. Ibu: A lot of people make resolutions to lose weight, get strong and buff, quit smoking or drinking in order to become healthier. Is this the year that Mr. Ibu finally hits the gym for a six-pack form?

Pete Edochie: Since the death of Amaleze "The Cat," one question that has been asked over and over again is when our beloved Pete Edochie is going to shave his beards. Just in case the chief decides to visit a salon this year, please someone should quickly remove the kolanuts and palmwine keg from the table. Yes, you may have to hide those wrappers and hats if we are ever going to see the chief in suit anytime before rapture. We'll also love to see him play other roles than His Royal Highness, Chief Ohazurumba 1 of Ohaji Egbema Kingdom that he has been playing since the days of "Things Fall Apart." Sir, we know you can do it.‎

Don Jazzy: The experimental singing was good for last year but 2015 should be the year of the vocalist. And bros, you have hidden under the shade for too long. The hot babes are crying and the queue is getting too long. Will 2015 finally reveal "Mrs. Don Jazzy?"

Tuface: Your album last year was good but it also revealed the fact that you have lost your vocal strength. It won't be a bad idea to engage the services of a voice coach in 2015.

Dbanj: Last year wasn't a good year for you musically. The songs didn't come out well, especially the collaborations. I'll suggest you take a total break from music in 2015 and get re-inspired.

Omawunmi: You have found the right spot between Highlife, Pop and RnB. You pitched your tent perfectly well in our hearts in 2014. Whatever inspired those beautiful songs is worth holding on to.

Waje: Awww we love you. Your voice is like the sound of the morning spring. But ermmm please leave the skimpy dresses to the peperempes.

Jim Iyke: No matter what people say about him, naija movie scene has been boring without him and the drama that comes with him. Jim, we will be happy to see you back in the spotlight this year, making movies and reminding us that you're a fine actor. It would be nice to see you star in your own movie, maybe with Nadia.

Miss Sindodo: After a long spell away, you bounced back in 2014 and we are glad about your "amazing" recovery. But your black knuckles and over-bleached skin call for immediate attention this 2015. One movie we will love to see made in Nollywood this year is "How Stella Snatched My Husband" starring Doris and produced by Daniel.

Halima Abubakar: Acting shouldn't be a do or die affair. Try other professions or better still, take a professional course in acting.

Omosexy: Everyone says you are arrogant. This should be the year to make a better impression.

Stephanie Okereke: When are we going to finally start seeing your movies for real and not just seeing them "Through The Glass?"

Olisa: You have held the crown as the oldest bachelor for too long. It is time to hand over.

Tonto: What do you really do? It is becoming more difficult to tell these days. It's a tough industry, we know. But we're begging you: please stop jumping from one thing to another. Getting into character as a role model does require a bit of focus.
Happy new year everyone!

South African TV and magazine star, Bonang Matheba, without doubt is feeling Nigeria's superstar Dbanj at this moment.

The two have never flaunted their "friendship" until recently when D'Banj was in South Africa for the Big Brother performance where he took sometime to relax with the 27 year old beauty… They shared a kiss and of course photos were posted on Instagram.‎

Suspected Boko Haram militants have kidnapped about 40 boys and young men in a raid on a remote village in north-eastern Nigeria, residents say.
People who fled Malari village in Borno state and arrived in the state capital, Maiduguri, late on Friday said the men had been taken on New Year's Eve.

Last year Boko Haram abducted about 200 girls from a boarding school in Borno.
More than 2,000 people were killed in militant violence last year in north-eastern Nigeria.
Boko Haram has been waging an insurgency since 2009, and is seeking to create an Islamic state in north-eastern Nigeria.

In the latest incident, Malari residents said gunmen had come to the village in pick-up trucks and ordered all males to come out and listen to a sermon.
Young men were then rounded up and taken into a nearby forest.

Last month suspected Boko Haram militants stormed another village, Gumsuri. A survivor told the BBC that 33 villagers had been killed and about 200 people kidnapped.
Militants attacks have increased since three Nigerian states - Borno, Adamawa and Yobe - were put under emergency rule more than 18 months ago.
The kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls from the town of Chibok in April sparked international outrage.
Despite military assistance from countries such as China, France, the UK and the US, the girls have not yet been rescued.

If you like, give him 60years, he still cannot fight corruption -Lai Mohammed returns

The All Progressives Congress says President Goodluck Jonathan cannot fight corruption even if he is given 60 years to rule Nigeria.

The APC said this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, while reacting to a promise by Jonathan that he would institute anti-corruption programmes if re-elected next month.

The APC said Jonathan's inability to tackle corruption was not surprising as "a corrupt government can never fight corruption."

It said it was surprising that Jonathan was still initiating a plan to tackle corruption despite the presence of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as well as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.

The statement read, "Mr. President said he wants to put in place the institutions to tackle corruption before taking on the cankerworm that has almost destroyed the fabric of our society. Pray, whatever happened to the EFCC and the ICPC? Were they not institutions specifically created for the purpose of tackling corruption, but which the Jonathan administration chose to castrate?

''There is no better way to say this: President Jonathan lacks the political will to tackle corruption, and he will not tackle it if he spends 60 years in office."

The party said it was unfortunate that despite spending about five years in office, the Jonathan administration was just beginning to diagnose the problems of Nigeria.

It said, "A President who has spent the last six years trying to diagnose the main problems facing the country will apparently need another four years to plan how to tackle the challenges. By then, all of us would have been buried under the rubble of corruption and our country would have been decimated by insecurity.

"It is therefore time for Nigerians to vote in a President who will hit the ground running, a President who will tackle the problems of corruption and insecurity headlong, without giving excuses for failure."

On insecurity, the party said Jonathan should have learnt from the APC presidential candidate, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) who was responsible for quelling the Maitatsine insurgency in the early 1980s.

The APC said it was unfortunate that rather than devise means to tackle insecurity, Jonathan blamed everybody but his administration.‎

The national reconciliation committee of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has commenced intensive efforts to bring back some of its former chieftains who defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress APC including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Kano state Governor, Dr Rabi Kwakwanso to its folk.
Fielding questions from newsmen in Ile-Ife ,the national Secretary of the Party, Prof. Wale Oladipo hinted that the party has reached out to many of its aggrieved members, especially those who have defected to other political parties.

He noted that the party's reconciliation committee recently set up by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party will meet with all the former members of the party in the APC and other political parties before the next general elections to ensure that the PDP wins the elections in all parts of the country.

This, he said would enhance the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan in the February Presidential poll and also brightens the chances of the PDP in other elections.
He expressed optimism that those who have left the PDP for personal and political reasons would soon join the party, going by the reconciliation efforts of the leadership of the party.
"We are reaching out to our former members particularly those who left the party for the opposition to pursue their presidential ambitions but were humiliated. People like Atiku and Kwankwanso are definitely on their way back to PDP", he added.

Buhari Faces Certificate Scandal, May Be Disqualified By INEC

Few days after the former Head of State and Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, retd, explained in an affidavit submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that all his academic credentials were with the Military Board, the Army have stated that they do not keep the certificates of any serving or retired officer or soldier.

General Buhari is contesting the presidential election for the fourth time under different political parties including the defunct All Nigeria People's Party, ANPP and the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, but the issue of his qualifications had never been controversial until the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently described him as a ''semi- illiterate.''
However, against the backdrop of Buhari's affidavit in court, a military source said ''that the Army can not keep anybody's original certificate because it is the personal property of the owner,'' adding that such original certificates were only needed at the point of entry into the service.

According to the source, the Military only kept photocopies of credentials of officers and soldiers in their personal files that were in the military secretary's office.
"The original certificate of any officer or soldier is only needed at the point of entry into the service either as a cadet officer entering the Nigerian Defence Academy, or the recruitment officers when interviewing recruits to be sent to the depot for training. That is so, because they are needed to verify what were in the photocopies supplied by them or from the necessary examining bodies."
The source further stated that anybody claiming that his original certificates were with the Military Secretary (Army), had ''ulterior motive(s) or something he or she cannot explain.''

He further added, "Let me tell you now, in the Navy, the Navy Secretary, NAVSEC, keep the documents of all Naval officers and ratings and not their original certificates which are their personal property.‎

In a related development, another report has claimed that General Buhari didn't attend the US Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States of America where he reportedly got his Masters Degree in Strategic Studies as claimed in his resume. This report claims that the American institution has denied ever having the retired Nigerian General as a student at any point in their facility. This story however is still developing...
