'Shut Up' -Governor Fashola Tells K1,Legendary Fuji Musician

3 comments :

It was indeed a very embarrassing moment for Veteran Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known as K1 De Ultimate, as he got more than he bargained for at a public event in Lagos when he was abruptly shunned by the state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), for trying to interrupt him while he was addressing some electorates in Gbagada.

The governor had gone to the Gbagada/Kosofe axis of the state with the governorship candidate of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode, to canvass for their votes when the unexpected happened.

While speaking on the campaign points of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the gubernatorial poll in the state, Jimi Agbaje, the Fuji lord tried to interject with a song in support of Fashola's explanation, but the governor shut him off.

"Please! Please!! I allowed you sing your song. Let me say my speech. I have come to talk here. When I am through, you will sing and I will dance!!!" Fashola told K1 De Ultimate in Yoruba language, who later kept mute until the end of the programme.

Some of the people around could not believe their ears, but said in hush tones that the musician deserved the embarrassment the governor gave him.

At most political rallies in Nigeria, musicians are begged to stop singing to allow political gladiators give their speeches, but they mostly decline. Even at the PDP presidential rally held in Lagos some days ago, moderators had hectic time stopping the music acts from singing to allow speeches from speakers.

So Halima Abubakar Almost Committed Suicide Because Of Money...

If not for divine intervention, actress Halima Abubakar would have been dead by now. She disclosed this in an exclusive chat with Punch.
She said,
"There were a lot of things that were wrong with me and led to my depression. I was angry, broke, people lied against me and they were also using my name to lie. I was deceived by the people I loved. I was seriously broke at the time and I had lots of responsibilities.
"There were many charity projects I was involved in and I was doing everything with my money. Everything just got to me at the same time and I felt fed-up. I wanted to kill myself because there was nobody to help me. It happened two years ago and it also occurred last year. I thank God I did not kill myself because I realised that nothing is worth it. I was upset with myself when I got back to my senses because the people you want to kill yourself for do not really care about you. It was a terrible phase in my life," she said.

When asked why her boyfriend could not help her out, Halima said he compounded her case instead of helping out.She said..
"He was not helping matters. I wanted somebody that would listen and not say that I was lying or exaggerating the extent of what I was going through. Whenever I tell him I am sad, he wants to give me money but it is not all about money all the time.
"Yes, I said I was broke but it was not only about money. I was broken emotionally. If there is no hope, I feel I am broken. I needed a listening ear. The definition of broke is relative but Nigerians think it is only about money. Money was also involved. The first major problem I had was money; then I was also emotionally broken," she said.

Why I Battled Mi -Kelly Hansome Opens Up...blames Kennis Music

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

Popular singer, Kelly Hansome, is reputed as one of the most controversial artistes in the Nigerian music scene. He has had rifts with several artistes ranging from his former boss, Kenny Ogungbe to Don Jazzy, D'banj and even MI.

But the singer may be tired of all the 'beef' with his latest single, Baba Olowo where he praise-sang all the people he has had issues with.

Some might see such moves as a marketing strategy since he is no longer as popular as he used to be but in an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the artiste said, "Praising people on my new song was not a strategy and my reason for doing it is because it is their time. They are the rave of the moment."

Hansome believes that the issue he had with MI in particular, made the rap artiste to become popular today.‎
"A lot of people take things too personal at times, especially MI and Baba Keke. They took my music too personal. If I did not beef MI, he would not be where he is today. I am not the one that made him, he has Chocolate City and Audu Maikori to thank for that and they are my friends but at the end of the day, it was a marketing strategy for them. I put him at a point where people could listen and appreciate his music. I am looking forward to us working together.
"MI is at the top of his game; he has several endorsement deals. Because of the issues I had, the endorsement I was supposed to have with Globacom was cancelled and I don't blame the company.
"Most of these people are successful today because they were able to cover up their controversies but the record label I thought was my record label did not cover up my controversy. Instead, they were the ones pushing it outside. In their mind, I had already been sentenced to death; they did not want me to be on top of my game again so that people would think they made me. I don't know why they did that to me, I wish they could give me a reason. I wish we could be put on national television and speak our minds and clear the air. I have no hard feelings towards anybody. If they could not kill me then, they cannot kill me now," he said.

He told Saturday Beats that he has since apologised to the people who felt offended by his song especially Ogungbe and MI.
"I see Baba Keke as my father; I don't know how he sees me. The truth is that he is old enough to give birth to me and when it comes to business, he taught me virtually everything I know. If your father should shout on you when he is angry, it is your duty to go and meet him later to apologise. I went to meet him and said that I knew he was angry and wanted the best for me so we should forget everything. I apologised as a son and he ought to forgive. I called MI and told him that we could not continue with the beef and that was it," he said

News reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that lovely couple Adeniyi and Toyin Johnson have parted ways after less than two years of marriage.

According to Stella Dimoko Korkus and Aproko expert KennyRhoda...this break up is actually many weeks old.

Insiders allege that the couple have been living apart for over three months but have been trying to hide it from the press..Inside sources say that that Toyin and Adeniyi broke up due to infidelity, which had eaten deep into their marriage.

My source alleges that Toyin used evidence from snooping on her hubby's phone and caught darling husband red handed in hotel rooms several times with different girls...Infact my source quotes the number of times as almost ''300 times red handed''.

The couple have both moved out of their apartment in Lekki and have both moved on but pretending to be still together.....

Only their close friends are aware of their split and the insiders allege that a
reconciliation might not be possible because of the ease with which both walked out and have indicated that that they do not wish to be together.

Adeniyi currently has his facebook status as seperated....that is if he hasnt changed it.

Another source whispers that concerning both ''when there is no respect in a marriage, when couples talk to each other without respect and words are no longer relied upon and love has left behind a sour taste, then its time to check why you married in the first place''.

Toyin and Adeniyi had a low key traditional wedding in Ibadan in February 2013 and on July 8  2013 they signed the dotted lines at the Ikoyi registry.
Their wedding was a celebrated affair on the internet and in the print media.
Toyin and Niyi had no child together before they parted ways.

Fayose Approves Pension For Ex-Governors Kayode Fayemi, Segun Oni

No comments :

Former Governors Kayode Fayemi and his predecessor, Segun Oni would benefit from the new pension law brought into  force by Governor Ayodele Fayose.

This is coming as Fayose on Friday signed the 2015 Appropriation Bill of N80.97bn and three other bills into laws, promising to fast-track development in all facets this year.

The Governor had presented a budget of N80.774 billion to the State House of Assembly in December with the lawmakers passing N80.9 billion into law for the 2015 fiscal year.

On the grant of pension law, he noted that the law was enacted to provide for the grant of pensions to former governors and their deputies saying former governor Oni and others who had served the state in such capacities were the target beneficiaries.

"The law has restored full privileges and benefits to all former governors and their deputies".

The other bills include, Ekiti State Peace Corps (Repeal) Law, Grant of Pensions (Amendment) Law 2014 and Ekiti State Change of Official Logo (Amendment) 2014.

Appending his signature to the bills,  Fayose said the 2015 budget focused majorly  on the civil servants, education, health and the overall development of the state.

He said the law establishing Peace Corps initiated by the immediate past administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi was repealed because of the negative motives behind its establishment.

According to him, "Peace Corps was only carrying peace on the surface, the actual reasons for its institution was evil".

Fayose who lamented that the huge debt inherited from immediate past government was slowing down his administration said "we do not want to dwell on the challenges but we want to forge ahead and deliver on our electioneering promises the people".

While urging the people of the state to disregard the rumour making the rounds that his government has received N22 billion from the federal government, challenged whoever was making such claim to disclosed the banks, the government account and the time the money was paid.

Governor Fayose who called for the understanding of the people, promised to always pay salaries as and when due with deductions going to the appropriate quarters.

Earlier, the factional speaker of the state assembly, Hon Dele Olugbemi said the house was proud of the modest achievements of the Governor.

According to him, "This administration is only three months in office, yet it has been able to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Ekiti State".

Legislators Reject Call For Election Postponement

No comments :

Members of the National Assembly on Friday kicked against the call by the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), that the February 14 general elections should be shifted to give the Independent National Electoral Commission time to distribute over 30 million outstanding permanent voter cards.

The lawmakers said the postponement of the elections would lead the country to constitutional crisis.

The House of Representatives spokesperson, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, said the House would not back any proposal to shift the polls.

He said, "The call for postponement of the elections is a decoy for third term agenda and as a House of the Nigerian people, we will resist it.‎
"There is nowhere in the world where 100 per cent of registered voters must vote in an election.
"It will be a breach of the constitution to postpone the polls by whatever guise. This is a ploy and we know where it is coming from."

Deputy House Majority Leader, Mr. Leo Ogor, also said postponing the elections would not serve the interest of the country.

Ogor said if insufficient PVCs was the major reason Dasuki cited for the call for the postponement of the elections, INEC should admit those with temporary voter cards to vote in line with a resolution recently passed by the House.

He said, "INEC should speak up and tell us the way forward instead of keeping Nigerians in suspense.
"Let voters use TVCs and PVCs in line with the position already taken by the House. No eligible voter should be disenfranchised."

The House Minority Leader, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, also described the call for postponement of the polls as a trap for third term agenda.

Gbajabiamila had moved the motion asking INEC to allow the use of TVCs since it was apparent that many voters might not get the PVCs before February 14.

He said shifting the polls was a ploy for third term agenda which he warned would be resisted by Nigerians.
"The NSA has no role to play in the distribution of PVCs," Gbajabiamila said.

"Prosecute Buhari" -PDP Tasks Justice Ministry

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

The Peoples Democratic Party has said it is not satisfied with the credentials of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, and has threatened to contest the authenticity of his academic results.

A top party official, who spoke with Saturday PUNCH on Thursday, said the ruling party would investigate Buhari's statement of results issued on Wednesday by the Katsina State Ministry of Education.

The statement of result and the confidential result sheet by the University of Cambridge were both dated January 21, stamped and signed by the Principal and Examination Officer, Government College, Katsina (formerly Provincial Secondary School).

In the result sheet, Buhari's name was the second among the 17 candidates that sat for the Cambridge/ West African School Certificate Examination in 1961.

But the party source who does not want to be named, said, "The plan of the PDP is to contest Buhari's academic qualification on two fronts.

"We will first contest the APC presidential candidate's credentials by writing to all the institutions he attended for the verification of his certificates. We already have individuals in our party that are doing that.

"On the other hand, the ruling party will prevail on the Ministry of Justice to sue the former head of state for perjury."

The party official said Buhari had, in the affidavit submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, claimed that his certificates were with the military, but the Nigerian Army denied that it had the ex-head of state's certificates in its custody.

"This means he (Buhari) lied on oath when he said his credentials were with the army. We are not going to take this from him at all. It is the job of the Ministry of Justice to look into this case of perjury and we are going to remind them."

Buhari had defened the affidavit he submitted by saying, "I had assumed all along that all my records were in the custody of the Secretary of the Nigerian Army. Much to my surprise, we are now told that although a record of the result is available, there are no copies of the certificates in my personal file."

He said that was why he requested his old school to release his result.

The Director of Media and Publicity, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, also said a perjury case should be launched against the APC candidate.

Fani-Kayode urged Buhari to submit himself to the police to answer charges of perjury.

He said, "If they fail to come forward voluntarily, we hereby call on the police and other security agencies to seek them out, find them, arrest them, interrogate them and prosecute them in accordance with the laws of the land."

Repeated calls to the mobile telephone number of the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Olisa Metuh, indicated that it was switched off.

A text message sent to him had yet to be responded to as of the time of filing this report at 6:03pm on Friday.

Attempts by our correspondent to also reach the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, for his comment on Thursday, was unsuccessful as his phone was switched off.

The minister had also not responded to a text message inquiry on the issue.

The police however told one of our correspondents they would investigate the allegation of perjury against Buhari if there is a complaint to the force against him.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said, "There is no complaint before the police on the perjury allegation but if there is, we will investigate it.".

In his reaction, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Lai Mohammed, said the party was not surprised that the PDP wants to contest Buhari's school records because it is afraid that President Jonathan might lose the election.

He said, "Let them go to court. The truth is that they are not ready for the election. They are making all these excuses because they are terrified they would lose the election."

I have delivered on my 2011 campaign promises -President Jonathan Discloses

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

President Goodluck Jonathan Friday said he had fulfilled the promises he made to Nigerians during his 2011 campaign.

He said this while inaugurating a five-seater air-conditioned passenger inter-city rail transport system that will link Makurdi, Benue State with Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

Jonathan, who was represented by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, said the country had witnessed transformation, especially in the transport sector during his administration.

He said, "President Jonathan has ensured the fulfilment of the promises he made to Nigerians by transforming the country, especially the transport sector as a critical infrastructure.

"Today's event is a commitment of our unflinching services. This transformation is in three phases: System transition, system modernisation and system stabilisation".

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State applauded the President for reviving the "moribund" railway system which he said had been abandoned for the past thirty years.

He said, "Transformation does not need noise. We need young people to run government, but not old people who are too weak; the old people should guide us to continue the Transformation Agenda."

The Chairman, Nigerian Railway Cooperation and former National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Bamanga Tukur, said the commitment of the Federal Government in the railway sector had boosted the economy.

The Minister of Transport, Idris Umar, also charged the people to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the present administration in the railway sector.

However, some Makurdi residents have described the inauguration as "window dressing."

One of them, simply identified as Terkuma, asked, "How can a dead railway system that has been moribund in the last thirty years come to life in just three days?"

He described the event as a campaign strategy to woo the Benue electorate.

Fela's Family Kick Against Use of Late Legend's Image For Campaign By Politicians

No comments :

The Anikulapo-Kuti family has frowned on a recent advertisement in some national dailies using the picture of Fela Anikulapo Kuti to score a political point.

This was made known by Yeni, the eldest daughter of the late Afrobeat legend who represented the immediate Fela family.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday, Yeni said: "The Anikulapo family is not aware and does not sanction any advert using Fela's name. It was done without our knowledge.

We do not like anybody using the history of the Anikulapo family, especially Fela and Buhari to their own advantage. Whilst we may not support any party, we do not like any party using our father as a political tool or an instrument for their politics because Fela was apolitical. Fela was for good governance only. Fela was for respect for human rights which most of those masquerading as democrats today were against some years ago.

"So, please, they should desist from using Fela's picture, image or lyrics for any political party, whatever party it may be, whether APC, PDP, SDP, Labour, Accord or any other party, we do not condone it".

President Jonathan Visits Borno AGAIN As Governor Shetima Appeals To Residents..."do not attack the President"

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965

President Goodluck Jonathan will on Saturday take his presidential campaign train to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, in continuation of his re-election campaign rally.
This will be the second time the president will be making a trip to Maiduguri in two weeks, the first being a visit to soldiers who are battling terrorists in the state in commemoration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The inability of the Jonathan administration to arrest the Boko Haram insurgency has become a campaign issue of the presidential candidates of two major political parties – Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress and Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Jonathan will be expected to make the issue of the Boko Haram menace one of the issues he will be touching on while in Maiduguri, as the people of the town will want to know what the President plans to do to stop the reign of the Boko Haram insurgents.

Coming on the heels of the stoning of Jonathan's campaign convoy in Katsina and Bauchi states, the governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, on Friday made a strong appeal to his supporters and all citizens of the state not to show disrespect to the President and his entourage during the campaign visit.

Shettima made the call in a statement by his media aide, Mallam Isa Gusau.

The governor said the call became necessary because of recent incidents in Bauchi and Katsina states during which irate youths reportedly went wild, pelting the President's convoy with various objects.
He described the act as disrespectful, show of intolerance and extremely bad politics.

The governor said, "From what I have read or heard in the media, so far, there has not been any issue of such in any APC-controlled states visited by the President and Borno should not be an exception. We have political differences and our differences are legitimate and based on the principles of our political parties and what we stand for.
"But we must remember that His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as citizens of this country, we have an obligation to respect his office and his person.
"Our millions of citizens, who support the APC in Borno State and our presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, and anyone that supports me or any of our National and State Assembly candidates in the state, should shun any act of violence, intolerance and unlawful political behaviour before, during and after the President's visit and should remain law abiding citizens of Borno State as our laws, norms and values demand."
