This story is absolutely one which would amaze readers as BlackBox Nigeria has uncovered an odd love story of a certain Tutu and Alfred in the Badagry area of Lagos, Nigeria.

In an elopement case purportedly financed by Tutu, a mother of two children in her early thirties who lives in Abuja, to meet her ex-university lover, Alfred in Lagos.

Our Aproko Correspondent gathered that Alfred who is also married with an eleven month old daughter but threw caution in the air as Tutu, a Civil Servant had told her husband she was going for a training in Lagos for 5 days and should be back by Monday.

While frolicking in a popular bar last night (02 Bar, Marina, Badagry), the obviously tipsy Tutu was overheard telling her lover how bad her husband was in bed. She said without bothering whoever was listening that the last 3days have been paradise and she just wished it could be extended beyond 5days.

Our correspondent gathered that Tutu and Alfred were lovers during their university days before incidences threw them apart and they ended up marrying different people. As fate would have it, they got back together through social media and the love flame got re-ignited. After several communication, they decided to meet up again to "enjoy" some of their past adventures.

Thus Tutu told her husband she was going on a training in Lagos.

...odd world you had say!

Wole Soyinka Is A Misfit, A Self Serving-Critic...Obasanjo Lampoons Nobel Laureate, Showers Encomium On Late Gani Fawehinmi In New Book

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has showered praises on late Gani Fawehinmi, lawyer and activist, who was a thorn in the flesh of successive administrations in Nigeria, describing him as one of the most genuine politico-social critics in the history of the country.
Mr. Obasanjo was effusive in his praise of Mr. Fawehinmi just as he lampooned Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, and Senator Uche Chukwumerije, describing them as self-serving activists.

Writing in his new autobiography, My Watch, the former president said the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria was not just a critic of his government, but was also the counsel to his ex-wife, Remi, during the couple's messy divorce.
"Gani was to me a fearless, genuine politico-social critic, who drew no distinction between friends and associates or on ethnicity, geography or religion," Mr. Obasanjo wrote. "He believed in what he did and did what he believed."

Mr. Obasanjo also commended Mr. Gani for always speaking up when everyone else was silent, especially on matters of injustice.
He alleged that his ex-wife, Remi, sought the services of Mr. Fawehinmi in order to scandalize him as a senior military officer and a minister in government, but that he (Obasanjo) equally secured Mr. Fawehinmi's match in Kehinde Sofola.
"But that issue did not diminish my respect for Gani," he said.
Mr. Obasanjo described Mr. Fawehinmi as an advocate for the poor and the oppressed.
He said the vacuum left by the late legal luminary was yet to be filled in Nigeria.
Mr. Fawehinmi died on September 5, 2009, after a prolonged battle with lung cancer. He was 71.
Soyinka the "aparo" hunter

Prof Wole Soyinka
On the other hand, Mr. Obasanjo described the nation's only Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, as "a self-serving critic" who always loved to take the lead on all matters.
"For Wole, no one can be good, nor can anything be spot-on politically except that which emanates from him or is ordained by him," Mr. Obasanjo wrote. "His friends and loved ones will always be right and correct no matter what they do or fail to do."
Mr. Obasanjo said he found the Professor of Literature "a misfit as a political analyst, commentator or critic," adding that it was good that Mr. Soyinka did not go into politics.
"He is surely a better wine connoisseur and a more successful "aparo" (guinea fowl) hunter than a political critic, not to talk of what he would do as a politician," Mr. Obasanjo said. "I take him seriously on almost all issues except on the political particularly Nigerian politics."
He, however, noted that the Nobel laureate appeared to have 'mellowed' down since turning 80 recently.
As he prayed that Mr. Soyinka celebrates the centenary of his birth on earth, Mr. Obasanjo also stated, "If I go before him, I will bid him welcome when he arrives at the great beyond. I hope he would do the same if he succeeds in getting there before me and we find ourselves on the same side of the divide."
Chukwumerije lost both "fire" and "brand"

Sen. Uche Chukwumerije
On Mr. Chukwumerije, Mr. Obasanjo said the senator as a younger person used to be sincere, fearless and uncompromising but as he grew older and the reality of life dawned on him with the weight of family responsibility "his pen, if not his mouth, gradually blunted and the fire in him started to dim".
Mr. Obasanjo also said it then became easy to sway the once fiery, obstinate critic and he became a tool of whoever needed to use him.
"Wittingly or unwittingly, he began to do the bidding of the lurer," he said. "In the process, the intrepidity waned and the fearlessness disappeared. He became called and coiled."
He added that by joining politics, Mr. Chukwumerije sacrificed not only the "fire" in him, but also the "brand," adding that the real Mr. Chukwumerije that was known in the past was gone.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on Nigerians to ensure that they get their voters' card to enable them exercise their civic responsibilities during next year's general elections.

The voters' card, he said, is the only power the people have to vote in credible candidates.

Adeboye spoke during the annual Holy Ghost Congress of RCCG. The congress was with the theme: 'The Great Shepherd'.

Holding up his voter card and that of his wife, Folu, the respected man of God reminded the congregation that everyone is expected to collect and bring their cards to the church on the first Sunday of December for prayers. He announced that the January 2 Holy Ghost Congress will be entitled 'The Burden Bearer.'

He noted: "It is very crucial you all get it even if it means spending the whole day at the local government because without the card, you cannot vote. On the first Sunday of next year, come to church with your voter card before we will pronounce the New Year blessings on you."

He also called for donation of relief materials of food and clothings for thousands who have been displaced from their homes due to insurgency in the North East region.

Adebayo urged, "Let us all contribute to make life comfortable for those people. All proceeds will be passed to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and from there will be passed to those in need."

31 babies have been delivered so far in the camp ground comprising of 19 boys and 12 girls.

In attendance at the event include Togo's Minister of Justice, Esan Kofi; Nigeria's Minister for Sports, Tamuno Danagogo; Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and her Kogi State counterpart, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi; First Lady of Benue State, Mrs. Yemisi Suswam and her Lagos State counterpart, Dame Abimbola Fashola.‎

Several persons were feared dead and many others injured on Saturday in an explosion at a gas station along Arakale Road in Akure.

Eyewitnesses said the fire started at about 7pm during the sale of gas within the station.

"We just heard a loud explosion and fire coming out of the gas station and we all ran.

"The fire suddenly engulfed the cars parked along the road and the buildings surrounding it," an eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent.

The station is located not far from a branch of the United Bank for Africa and a church along the road.

It was not clear how many died in the incident as men of the fire service were still battling to put out the fire as of the time of filing this report.

In the midst of the commotion, some persons were being taken to the hospital by emergency workers at the scene.

Residents, who were angry over the delay of the fire fighters in arriving at the scene, attacked the firefighters with stones to express their displeasure.

It took the effort of men from the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure to curtail the mob and allow the fire fighters do their job.‎

‘Thank God Our Entertainers Lost their Primaries’ -Etcetera Hits Below The Belt Yet Again!

My dear entertainers who just lost out in your quest for public office, can you please gbe enu e soun so that we can concentrate on the election at hand? Despite your claims, we all know the reasons why you sought public office in the first place.

So many Nigerians have hurt their knees in praying to God to rid this nation of political miscreants and people with selfish motives in seeking public offices. So the fact that you all lost your primaries is a gargantuan sign that the system does not see you as worthy representatives of the Nigerian youths. You are the reasons why the youths are only being regarded as the future in a time like this when we are supposed to be the present.

Why is it surprising to you that you lost in the primaries? The system has been analytically taking notes of your below the par exploits even within the madhouse we call entertainment industry. Don't you get it, because you are in the sacred ministry of receiving brown envelopes doesn't make you qualified to administer or make laws.
In case you haven't heard, there are so many things to consider before running for public office. I can bet that most of you don't know the issues that matter to the people of your constituency. Have you asked yourself if you are fit for that constituency? What have you done prior to this time for the people you want to represent?
You can't just wake up one morning and ride on a horse down the streets like Apostle Paul on his way to Damascus and expect to be applauded into the government house? Have you built up a sufficient resume? Despite what some people would have us believe, a vast majority of successful political careers are built around impressive resumes. Think about your resume objectively. Think about running for office as a job interview. How do you stack up to your likely competition? Don't you think a prior involvement in your constituency would add some significant padding to your resume?

Another question is, are you electable? Are you the best candidate for the job? This is a question that anyone who wishes the best for his or her people should consider. Is there another potential candidate better suited to run and to serve than you are? Is it possible that your running could do more harm than good to your political ideals and priorities? Is there a better role for you politically? If you're considering running simply as a way to get involved, maybe there's another and better role for you. Wouldn't your time and money be better spent in supporting another campaign or serving on a local board or advisory committee?

We are known as the dancing generation because of the lyrical content of your songs. To say in your interviews that you are running because you want to change the system is a lie from the pit of hell. Haven't you heard that charity begins at home? What changes have you initiated in this madhouse we call entertainment industry? How many of you musicians seeking public office today have come out to protest against injustice artistes are facing in the hands of the cabals on radio? You are scared of challenging the smaller cabals at the radio stations who demand bribe before playing your songs, what would you do when faced with the ogbologbos in politics? You can't give what you don't have. A head that can't produce meaningful lyrics cannot inspire anything meaningful in governance. If you can't stand for anything with your art, then you surely don't have what it takes to lead. The content of your songs says a lot about your mental capabilities.

What are your long term goals? Are you running because you feel that your so-called fame indicates you can win? Won't your personal issues affect your constituency adversely? Or you think the people are ignorant? In politics, the stench in your life will always surface eventually even if you're not willing to release the information yourself.
The masses have listened to your interviews and they know that most of you don't have the necessary knowledge of the simplest of issues. There's nothing like a campaign to expose your ignorance about a particular subject. If someone asked you a question about the particulars of an important issue, are you confident that you would be able to adequately answer it? Are you well informed about the bills or proposals currently under discussion in the elected body that you wish to serve in? Are there some important issues where you could legitimately be considered an expert?

Are you presentable? If you're not presentable, it will have an adverse effect on your campaign. You are from a job district full of people who mostly care about material things. Don't you know that in politics, when people think your priorities are different from theirs, they will be skeptical about supporting your candidacy?
Most of you entertainers that lost in the primaries would have been political liabilities, not the assets the people crave. Some shameless Nollywooders even went as far as citing Arnold Schwarzenegger's entry into the California governorship race as their inspiration for running but it didn't cross their minds that Schwarzenegger wouldn't have been eligible to run for any election in America if he was a member of any organisation as corrupt and confused as the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Finally, for those entertainers with intentions of seeking public office in 2019 which is just around the corner, now is the time to start working on those areas you need improvement. Get some professional help if necessary. You were booted out this time around because the people don't trust your intentions. Today, your status says elegushi loading and tomorrow sees you borrow-posing in an exotic car. You are obviously on a mission to loot.
It is appalling that some entertainers are beginning to see politics as kalo-kalo and a place where people thrive in mago-mago. The same desperados have over time exhibited their willingness to put their hands in hot ororo as long as they can bring out the dodo. But that dodo has burnt their mouths this time around.‎

"Tinubu Imposed Ambode"-PDP Spokesman

The Peoples Democratic Party has alleged that the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, was imposed by a national leader of the party.

The Publicity Secretary for the PDP in Lagos, Mr. Gani Taofik, in a telephone interview with our correspondent, alleged that there would be defections from the APC before the February 2015 general elections.

He cited the defeat of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, in the state's June governorship election as the reason why some APC members defected to other parties.

Fayemi, who was the committee chairman of the recently held third national convention of the APC, on Wednesday, had described the special convention of the PDP holding on the same day as undemocratic.

He described the PDP event as a coronation, rather than a convention, saying it was a ruse to endorse Jonathan.

But Taofik described the reaction as a busybody's stance, saying the ex-governor was speaking based on "the hallucination of the 16-0 defeat he suffered at the hands of the PDP in Ekiti."

The PDP spokesperson asked, "What is their interest in knowing how the PDP came about its candidate? We have not intruded into theirs. Our President remains the first model for us to win the election now and we have also shown that we are democrats who appreciate progressivism.

"That is why people have not come out to contest against a working, successful and performing president. That is not the case in the APC. In the APC, they are always desperate. Fayemi lost the election because of some APC members who defected to some other parties.

"The same thing applies to Lagos State; Ambode was imposed and we are expecting more defections before the elections. That the APC had a convention of people participating in Lagos for the presidency is not a reflection that they are democratic."

When contacted, APC Publicity Secretary in Lagos, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, did not reply to phone calls and a text message to his phone line.‎

Two persons were feared killed in Agbokojo, Amunigun and Agbaje areas of Ibadan, Oyo State at a clash during a youth carnival.

More than 20 shops were said to have been vandalised at Agbaje Market, while the youths looted goods found in the shops.

An eyewitness said the carnival, which started around 11pm on Friday at Agbokojo, was stormed by some youths numbering about 80. This led to a fight which lasted about an hour and spread to other parts of the city.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Mr. Adekunle Ajisebutu, could not confirm the incident as at press time, saying there had not been an official report of the incident.

The eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, said the youths shot sporadically into the air, adding that the violence was caused by two rival groups.

He said, "Violence has become a common thing in Agbaje area whenever election is fast approaching and these hoodlums are known by all but they seem to be above the law?.

"On Saturday about 10.30pm, about 80 hoodlums, some of whom wore masks and were armed came from their base in Foko and stormed Agbaje streets. They ransacked, looted, and vandalised the shops.

"If the Police could establish their presence here like they did in Idi-Arere and Popoyemoja, I believe peace would be restored."

Some of the residents in the area said the violence could be a repraisal for an earlier one at Born Photo and its environs two weeks ago.

"With what happened over night, I believe this is retaliation. Two boys were killed, while some were also injured. They had been taken to an undisclosed hospital," said a resident.

The Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North-West Local Government Area, Mr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, who visited the scene of the incident, sympathised with the bereaved families and those who lost their property to the hoodlums.‎

The Lagos State leadership of the All Progressives Congress has begun searching for the running mate of its governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.

Our correspondent learnt that four people were being tipped for the deputy governor position.

It was learnt that because Ambode is a Christian, the party has insisted that the deputy must be a Muslim.

The four persons are the Imam of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Abdulateef Abdulhakeem; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Ganiyu Johnson; the current Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Idayat Adebule; and a former chairman of the Lagos Island Local Government, Wasiu Eshilokun.

A source within the party said Adebule was the most likely candidate because of her gender and high level of education.

He said, "We would have picked the Imam of the House of Assembly but some Muslim groups in the state resisted the move, so we decided to go for Adebule.

"Adebule has a good track record as well as a Ph.D in Islamic Studies. She was a lecturer at the Lagos State University before her appointment as the SSG.

"As you know, most of the voters next year will be women and we need to make sure they are given a sense of belonging."

Another source, who pleaded anonymity, however, said the current Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello, was also being considered.

When Bello was contacted for his comment, he directed our correspondent to the APC secretariat.‎
