The picture above isn't a scene from Nollywood and no, the policemen were not attacked by robbers.
According to reports, a police corporal was suspecting that his girlfriend was having an affair with his senior colleague, an inspector. The Corporal reportedly trailed them to a hangout where he caught them leading to him killing the Inspector, the girl which he claimed was his girlfriend and then killed himself?

The corporal had accused his boss, an Inspector of trying to woo his alleged girlfriend whom he has spent a lot of money on, and asked him to leave her, but when he refused, he shot the girl, shot the inspector and shot himself. According to reports, the homeless girl isn't even his girlfriend.‎
Sadly, the police corporal and inspector are said to be married with kids.
...What a waste!¡!

Between Emma Nyra And Ubi Franklin...The Triple MG DRAMA

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
It is no longer news that Triple MG boss, Ubi Franklin and his record label first lady, Emma Nyra have called it quits. Yes, and it was not a matter they resolved at a roundtable, the once chummy-chummy duo took each other to the cleaners and put up a bit of a show on social media to fill their fans in on all the shindig that went down.
At a point in their creamier than cream relationship, the duo were virtually inseparable, which set tongues wagging that they must have been more than mere friends. While the hint of a relationship was being dropped around, neither Ubi nor Emma saw anything wrong with it. Until the song changed!
According to reports, the song changed for them when Ubi Frankin proposed to Nollywood actress, Lilian Esoro, presumably, shunning his ward who has been waiting in the wings for years. The song went from sorry to sad when Emma Nyra reportedly blurted out in an interview that she was never romantically involved with Ubi.
Now, the sad song went very bad when Ubi too granted another interview to counter Emma, saying they were at a point going out and claimed to have spent heavily in promoting her.
With push coming to shove, it seemed the accident waiting to happen could but only happen. Ubi refused to renew Emma's contract and she shrugged and walked away and reportedly relocated to her Houston, Texas base, while Ubi got to London either for business or pleasure. But trust your Potpourri, we tracked them down to bring you their reactions from their bases.
Ubi terrorised me for years – Emma Nyra
Beautiful and suave Emma Nyra, as I know her, is never a person that gets into acts to impress anyone. She is down-to-earth, friendly and responsive. She doesn't get into kinks most stars do, just for the hell of it. When I asked her if It was true that it was because Ubi Franklin dumped her for Lillian Esoro, was why she left the label, she answered with as much courtesy as an angry lady would.
"Obviously, this is a lie" she said in our Whatsapp chat. " Ubi and I never dated. Rather he terrorised me for years. He abused me and other members of the label with physical and verbal force. This is why I left Triple MG the first time. He claims he spent money on me but failed to mention that he never gave me my payment for all the tours I have done alongside Iyanya. The true story lies between me and other members of Triple MG who have all chosen to be silent because of fear of one man.
I do not support abuse of women or men. That is why I left. "I don't want to be involved with anything that has to do with Ubi Franklin ever again" she continued. "Honestly, I don't want to see my name associated with Ubi in any way. Let these lies die down. I am moving on with my career. Thank God".
Everything that's hidden will come to the open – Ubi Franklin

Seriously, I never really made an acquaintance of Ubi Franklin. I got to him through a mutual friend who gave me his bb pin. Bingo, the guy accepted me and got on to chat on the issue concerning Emma even when he didn't say much. He even called from London where he is, currently, courtesy of a gentleman, I must say. But what really must have gone down between a gentleman and a lady to put them asunder?
When I asked him what really went down between him and Emma Nyra, the Triple MG boss was as subtle as he could get. " In every matter of this nature, there is always your side, my side, their side and the truth. Only God knows the truth and in good time, the truth will come to light. God never sleeps. Everything that's hidden will come to the open in God's time. No need to speak to defend yourself or defend anyone" he said.

Billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote, has admitted that he is still interested in buying English Premier League team, Arsenal.
Dangote, who is Africa's richest man, is worth $15.7billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and was rebuffed in his attempts to buy a stake in the club in 2010.
"I still hope, one day at the right price, that I'll buy the team," Dangote said in an interview on a flight between Addis Ababa and Lagos.
"I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won't want to resist. I know my strategy."
If the 58-year-old is successful with a future bid, it would make him the first African owner of a club in England. Billionaires like Roman Abramovich (Russia) and Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan have purchased Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.

Arsenal is currently valued at £988m ($1.49bn) and Stan Kroenke, owner of the National Football League's St. Louis Rams holds 67% shares in the club. Uzbek billionaire Alisher Usmanov and Farhad Moshiri, own 30%.

Dangote, who has interests in sugar, flour, cement, oil etc, however, says he is not planning to make a bid soon.
"We have $16 billion-worth of investments in the next few years," he said.
"Right now, I want to take my own business to a certain level. Once I finish on that trajectory, then maybe an offer will follow".

Arsenal has sealed a Champions League qualification for an 18th successive season after they eased past relegation threatened Hull City 3-1 in the Premier League on Monday.
Alexis Sanchez's deflected free kick wrong footed stranded keeper Steve Harper to hand Arsenal a 28th-minute opener before Aaron Ramsey doubled the advantage four minutes later when his shot was diverted into the net via a Hull defender.
Sanchez rounded Harper to add his second in first half stoppage time and, though they improved after the break, Hull's solitary response came from Stephen Quinn's 56th minute header.
Arsenal, in third, have 70 points from 34 matches and trail second placed Manchester City, who have played a game more, on goal
difference.
Hull sit one point and place above the relegation zone and face the daunting prospect of games against Tottenham Hotspur and
Manchester United among their remaining three fixtures.

Fuel Scarcity: Eight Vessels Ferrying Petroleum Products Arrive Lagos Port

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Respite may have come the way of Lagos residents as eight vessels with various types of petroleum products arrived Lagos ports yesterday lending credence to Federal Government's assertion that marketers are holding Nigerians to ransom over refined products.
One would be wondering how the vessels would
be arriving Nigeria two days after the government
paid N156 billion to marketers when it would
naturally take weeks or months to bring in such
cargoes from overseas.
But according to a bulletin by the Nigerian Ports
Authority (NPA), the petroleum products that
came in include base oil, kerosene and petrol. The
publication further revealed that three other ships
also arrived with rice in bags and containers.
It said that NPA was expecting the arrival of 27
ships to the Lagos ports between May 4 and 30.
The publication said 13 of the expected ships are
to sail in with containers, while eight others are
expected to arrive with food products. The food
products, it disclosed, include rice, bulk sugar,
bulk salt, frozen fish and bulk wheat. General
cargoes are to be brought in four ships, while one
ship each would will sail in with vehicles and kerosene.

Nigerians have for over a week been jolted by
petroleum scarcity, which reportedly arose from
the strike embarked upon by oil marketers protesting over N156 billion debts owed them by government. But only last Thursday, the Finance
Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, paid the said
debt while urging the marketers not to hold
Nigerians to ransom. Even as at the weekend,
there were still controversy over the actual debts
outstanding in their favour.

PDP Lawmaker-Elect Attacked, Stripped At INEC Office

The issuance of Certificate of Return to lawmakers-elect in Osun State was almost marred by violence on Monday, as some hoodlums attacked a lawmaker-elect from Ife East Constituency, Mr. Akinwole Akinwale.
The lawmaker-elect was about leaving the state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission when some miscreants waylaid him and prevented him from leaving the venue.
Our correspondent observed that there was a brief fight at the gate of the INEC, but the crisis was quickly resolved.
Akinwole later told our correspondent on the telephone that those who attacked him were sent by a former commissioner from Ife.

He said that he had been told that he would not be allowed to collect the Certificate of Return but he did not take the warning seriously.
He said, "I was attacked by some boys who said that the former commissioner had said I should not be allowed to take the certificate. I was told he asked them to shoot me if I insisted on collecting it.
"I was attacked while coming out of the INEC office and they tore my clothes. The policemen who were there tried to rescue me and I was ferried out of the place in the Speaker's car."
Earlier, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Adekunle Ogunmola, advised the lawmakers-elect to set aside their political differences and work together to move the state forward.
The REC urged the legislators-elect not to betray the trust reposed in them by the electorate who voted for them.

#BringBackOurGirls! Rescued Woman Says Chibok Girls Have Been Sold Off To Boko Haram Leaders For Marriage

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
Will the Chibok girls ever return home? The question yesterday became more pertinent when one of the women rescued from the Sambisa Forest told Reuters at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Yola, Adamawa State that finding them could be difficult.‎
Aisha Abbas, a 45-year-old mother of two, said the girls might have been sold off or married to top sect members as promised by Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau.

According to Reuters, none of the women interviewed saw any of the Chibok girls, but Abbas said fighters who travelled from a camp in Sambisa where they were held to source food would describe the situation.
"They said the Chibok girls were married off this year. Some sold to slavery, then others (militants) each married two or four of the girls," Mrs. Abbas said.
Mrs Abbas, who was taken from Dikwa, Borno State in April, speaking on the weapons situation with the militants, said the fighters all had guns at first but recently, only some carried them.
Even the wife of their captors' leader, Adam Bitri, openly criticised him and subsequently fled, two of the women said, with one describing Bitri as short and fat with a beard.
Boko Haram is fracturing as shortages of weapons and fuel foment tensions between its foot soldiers and leaders, women rescued from the Islamist jihadi fighters by Nigerian troops told Reuters.
The group abducted an estimated 2,000 women and girls last year as it sought to carve out an Islamic state in the northeast.
The militants began complaining to their captives about lacking guns and ammunition last month, two of the women said, and many were reduced to carrying sticks while some of their vehicles were either broken down or lacked fuel.
Of the 275 freed captives brought to a government-run camp for internally displaced people in the Malkohi hamlet on the outskirts of Adamawa State capital, Yola, only 61 were over 18, and many small children hobbled around, visibly malnourished.
Relieving their experience in the forest, the women said they were kept inside, occasionally brought food and sometimes beaten severely. The children were left to run around or do errands for Boko Haram while those of the fighters were trained to shoot guns.

Borno Governor Explains Why Boko Haram R»pes Abducted Girls, Women

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
According to Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, Boko Haram insurgents deliberately raped and impregnated the girls they abducted.‎
Over 700 women, girls and children were rescued by the military in the past one week, with some said to be pregnant for their captives.
The Governor said that it is held amongst the sect members that children fathered by them are likely to share their ideology later in life and succeed their parents in years to come and as such the circle will be maintained.

The statement was made by Shettima's spokesperson, Isa Gusau, while addressing some Government officials at a closed door meeting in Maiduguri at the weekend which was made public on Monday, May 4.
"I am happy with the recovery of hundreds of women and children, it is a thing of joy that they have been freed alive. However, I also very worried about what the future holds for us if what I have gathered about these insurgents works according to their plan. I remember discussing this in an elaborate interview I granted to the Sunday Trust last year."‎
"These people (Boko Haram) have a certain spiritual conviction that any child they father will grow to inherit their ideology whether the live with the children or not. They also believe that whoever does not hold their ideology is an unbeliever that should be killed and rendered homeless and whatever belongs to him or her becomes a legitimate booty recovered from enemies.
"This booty includes women that are then allocated to ranking leaders of the sect as sex slaves. The sect leaders make very conscious effort to impregnate the women, some of them, I was told even pray before mating, offering supplications for God to make the products of what they are about doing become children that will inherit their ideology.
"After getting their captives pregnant, they keep them to allow the pregnancy mature to an extent of say four or more months to make abortion difficult or impossible for the women due to life threats in carrying out abortions at that level.
They abandon the women afterwards to go and give birth anywhere else. In most cases, the women return home or get helped by traditional birth attendants. I wouldn't be surprise if in some cases, some of the women deliver in captivity and the children grow to to four or five years since the sect have been operating for years, perhaps the Sambissa camps might have been in existence since 2009 or afterwards.
"The sect is known to usually have medical teams and make shift clinics for treating injured men and other health challenges. I do not have any official information yet regarding these issues but I have read from some online media houses that many girls were rescued with visible pregnancy and some with newly born babies. Ofcourse, I expect our security agencies to establish the paternity of all children recovered from interactions with the victims and other forms of investigation.
"My major concern is how we as stakeholders from the Federal and State Governments will manage women that might be affected. I am seriously worried with the fact that most women tend to hate and abandon children they deliver from rape. Now, the problem is that these children could go to the streets unattended to; they then lack access to food, healthcare and education.
"The result is that they could indeed inherit their fathers somehow. We also don't know whether the sect members would after putting a woman in the family way, identify them with particular communities and put a mechanism to monitor the children and whisk them away in future.
"So, after establishing the paternity of the children and background of those pregnant where any is found to be pregnant, the Federal Government will have to work with State Governments whose citizens are affected, so that we get the involvement of medical and psychosocial specialists as well as child welfare experts so that we deal with the situation by properly documenting these kids without getting them stigmatized, monitoring and working towards raising these kids to become educated future leaders without the slightest ideologies of their fathers in order for us to cut the circle being envisaged.

Did Governor Fayose Really Sack This Perm Sec Because Ex-Gov Fayemi Attended His Father's Burial

No comments :
Add BBN on 2BAFB965
A Permanent Secretary in the Ekiti State Civil Service, Mr. Tunde Alokan, has been sacked by Governor Ayodele Fayose, it was learnt on Monday.
Alokan until his removal was the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Office of Establishment.

A source said Alokan was relieved of his job because of his closeness to a former state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
It was learnt that Fayemi attended the burial of Alokan's late father held in Efon Alaaye in February which the source said did not go down well with the powers that be in the state.

But Fayose, while confirming the dismissal of Alokan on Monday night, said it had nothing to do with Fayemi attending his late father's burial ceremony.
The governor, who reacted through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said, "The governor has the power to hire and fire. The position of a permanent secretary is political and is at the discretion of the governor; enough of this blackmail.
"Fayemi also sacked some permanent secretaries while in office, so what has happened is not new. The governor is not aware that Dr. Fayemi attended Alokan's late father's burial, so attributing his sack to that is cheap blackmail."
Fayemi appointed Alokan as permanent secretary in January 2012.

Another Government House source explained that Alokan's elder brother, Tokunbo, who is a Director on Grade Level 16 "is also on his way out of the civil service."
His predicament was also linked to Fayemi's appearance at their late father's burial.
A source said, "After the burial, the following week, his elder brother who is also a civil servant was asked to report at the Office of Establishment.
"A panel was set up to investigate Mr. Tokunbo with the younger brother (Mr. Tunde) mandated to chair the panel an offer which he turned down.
"Although the two of them were to be sacked the same day, that of the elder brother was put on hold to pave the way for his investigation and interrogation by the panel.
"Since his younger brother turned down the offer to chair a panel raised to try Mr. Tokunbo, another person will be appointed to perform the task and your guess is as good as mine on the result that would come out of the panel."

Senator-Elect, Buruji Kashamu Drags NDLEA, EFCC, Others To Court Over Plans To Extradite Him

No comments :

Add BBN on 2BAFB965
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and senator-elect for Ogun East Senatorial District, Mr. Buruji Kashamu, has dragged the Chairman, National Drug Laws Enforcement Agency and 11 others to court over an alleged plot to extradite him to the United States of America to face trial on alleged drug-related offences.‎
Kashamu, who instituted a fundamental rights enforcement action before a Federal High Court in Lagos, is seeking a declaration that the move to abduct and forcibly transport him to the United States of America amounted to a violation of his right to liberty, freedom of association and freedom of movement as protected by sections 35, 40 and 41 of the Constitution
He alleged that the plot was a further move in the political designs of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to ensure that he (Kashamu) was denied the opportunity of enjoying the mandate freely given to him to represent the people of Ogun East Senatorial District in the Senate.
Kashamu alleged that he had uncovered plans by Obasanjo to mastermind his arrest during his swearing in as a senator and to transport him to the US in a private plane to face trial before Judge Norgle.
Kashamu urged the court to declare as unlawful the alleged collusion between the 12 respondents and his political opponents, led by Obasanjo, to abduct and forcibly transport him to the US.

Apart from the NDLEA chairman, also joined as respondents in the suit marked FHC/L/CS/505/15 are the Inspector General of Police; Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission; Director General, Department of State Service; the Interpol National Central Bureau; and the Attorney General of the Federation.
Others are the Clerk of the National Assembly; the National Security Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission; Nigeria Customs Services; the Nigeria Immigration Service; and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The senator-elect is seeking an order of the court directing the police IG to "provide a security detail of at least six armed police officers to protect the applicant at all times of the day and to prevent (him from) any attack or abduction."
Kashamu, in a 92-paragraph affidavit deposed to by himself, explained that though he was incarcerated in Brixton Prisons in London between 1998 and January 10, 2013, he was however later discharged after Judge Tim Workman held that "the allegations of the US authorities against me with regards to importation of narcotics to the US was a case of mistaken identity."

Justice Okon Abang has adjourned till May 8, 2015 to take Kashamu's fundamental rights enforcement application and the respondents' preliminary objections.
