Lagos State police have arrested two renowned cultists terrorizing residents in Ajah, Lagos State, for allegedly attempting to launch a robbery attack in the neighbourhood.
It was learned that the gang, from whom ammunition were recovered, was going to inspect the location of a resident, where they had planned to attack when they were apprehended.
Vanguard gathered that the suspect identified as Solomon and Saleh were arrested, while Sunny, a member of the gang, is currently at large.
According to one of the suspects, 21-year-old Solomon, he did not know that the so-called fraternity, which his friend told him to join, was an armed robbery gang, claiming that it was dangerous for him to leave them when he found out that they were armed robbers.
He said: "I am from Benin city, Edo state. I am also into fashion and designing. I learned from my sister Vivian based at Ajah Ogombo. She later employed me to work for her."
In his defence, the other suspect said: "I dropped out of Military School at Zaria. I am an informant to the soldier that arrested us.
"I should have told the Police my plan, or even the soldier who handed us over to police, when I discovered that we were going to rob."‎
