LASU INAUGURATES 25TH LASUSU EXECUTIVES

In a ceremony that was held at the new auditorium, Lagos state university, ojo campus on Friday 6th of March 2015, the management of Lagos State University finally inaugurated the newly elected students union executive of the institution.
The ceremony which had in attendance the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Obafunwa kicked of around 10am. Also in in attendance were the Deputy-Vice Chancellor (academics) Professor Sena Bakre, the Registrar, Librarian and other principal officers which included the dean of Student Affairs Prof Kabiru Akinyemi.

Also in in attendance were the Deputy-Vice Chancellor (academics) Professor Sena Bakre, the Registrar, Librarian and other principal officers which included the dean of Student Affairs Prof Kabiru Akinyemi.
Also participating in the event, where all the SPC members (student parliamentary council) and the new student union executives.
The new President, Comrade Sulaimon Wasiu Adeyemi Onikoro who happens to be the 25th president of Lagos state university student union in his speech however promised to continue building the trust student have put in the union which was restored by his predecessor and outgoing President Comarade Nurudeen Yusuf.

" Greatest LASUITE, I stand before you today as the 25th president of the most vibrant and the best student union in the Sub-Sahara Africa, the east of Limpopo and the North of Arabia. I give thanks to almighty God who has made it possible for us to gather here for this laudable ceremony. I salute the gallant comrades, the students and the entire LASU community, I know what the students had to go through, just to ensure that you cast your votes to elect a new set of leaders that will pilot the affairs of the Lagos state university students union 2014/2015 academic session ".
"I must say emphatically that the vibrancy of the restoration team led by Nurudeen Yusuf Temilola aka OPTIMIST has indeed restored to some extent the confidence desired of a vibrant union, not only in the eyes of the student alone or within the university community but also to the world", he said.
He further disclosed that his administration will focus on The rebranding of LASU, A violent free administration, implementing our manifestoes, ensuring a stable academic calendar. I promise to also maintain a cordial relationship between the management , staff and students.
"I believe in a bigger LASU, it is time for us to create together a new LASUSU we all have been waiting for, your strength can complement my weakness and your wisdom can help to minimise my mistakes .This i know".
Sulaimon Adeyemi Onikoro is from the Faculty of Law and a 400L student of the university, he is the 25th LASUSU president.
