According to news filtering in, ten Lagos governorship candidates have stepped down and declared their support for the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Akinwunmi Ambode in the forthcoming April 11 governorship election in the state.‎ According to a press statement signed by the ten governorship candidates, the parties stated that they have shelved their individual ambitions to be the governor of Lagos State to support the candidature of Ambode. " Without mincing words, we collectively as candidates of various political parties, have decided to join hands together with Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of APC to give Lagosians a deserving government at this time. We unanimously give our unwavering solidarity to work together with Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of the APC come 11th April 2015, slated by the Independent National Electoral Commission for gubernatorial election.
