As the nation approaches another period of political transition, many Nigerians consider it a time for more politics and less projects, but the case in Abia State appears different as Gov T.A Orji has recently been busy commissioning projects in different parts of the state especially in Aba, where the Largest dry land port in West Africa was recently established called the 'Aba Mega Mall' located at Okpu Umuobu, Osisioma Local Government Area.

The Group Managing Director Paul Obanua stated that Green Field Assets Ltd. is committed to redefining the commercial landscape of Aba. According to him, the shops are even currently more affordable in other established markets.
For the Abia governor he believes that the Aba Mega Mall will open up more investment to the state and create more employment opportunities for the teeming youths of Aba. According to the GMD an estimated 30,000 jobs will be created when the mall is completed and fully operational. It will contain a hotel facility, warehousing, haulage and logistics service, agro-alied storage, a customs command unit, SON department.
While performing the groundbreaking of the second phase of the mall, the Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji advised the incoming government in the state to build on the foundation already laid by his government in advancing the course of the state.
According to him, his administration has put in sustainable infrastructure in the state that will stand the test of time, adding that Aba remains a melting pot of great resources. He thanked the people of Osisioma Ngwa for donating their land to the government for the building of the shopping mall and urged other communities to release their land for development purposes when the government asks for such land.
Governor Orji thanked Aba people for their support and urged them to renew their attitude to make the city great.
In his concluding remark, the GMD thanked the Abia state government for the support it received; pointing out that nobody from the government asked the company of any favours with respect to the project.
He said that the first phase is made up of 1000 stalls while the next phase will comprise an abattoir, cinema , a dry port as well as a motel, maintaining that the company is interested in harnessing the industrial capacity of Aba.
