What can be regarded as a shocker was recorded in Delta State, as newly sworn-in governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, was denied access to his office at the government house, Asaba, the state capital.
According to an unconfirmed report published by Daily Independent, the shocking incident occurred while the governor was shown round offices and halls within the complex by the permanent secretary, Benson Oburoh, who eventually wouldn't be able to present the keys to his office.

The unpleasant surprise left many with insinuations that ex-governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, might still be holding on to the keys as a result of an alleged cold relationship with the new governor.
While some vindicated Uduaghan, saying the incident was the fault of some aides to the new governor, who are believed to be supervising some repairs in the office, some people claimed that the mix-up was a deliberate action by the ex-governor.
Okowa's denial from his office will, however, not stop the governor from proceeding for a prayer session at the government house chapel, which had in attendance his wife, Edith, deputy governor, Kingsley Otuaro, politicians and staff of the complex.
Meanwhile, Okowa, who had earlier denied having any rift in his political relationship with ex-governor, Uduaghan, beat his closest rival, chief Great Ogboru of the Labour Party to emerge winner of governorship election in April.
