Nigerian fans were left red faced last night as their darling Super Eagles failed to deliver the Afcon ticket at the new Akwa Ibom international stadium.
Not even the when opponents were reduced to ten men did the Stephen Keshi led side take advantage as the coaching crew confirmed the fear of critics that suggested that they lack tactical know-how considering the fact that the team was still playing a long ball for a "short" striker when they could easily pass to his feet.

The Amaju Pinnick led NFF executive committee relieved Coach Stephen keshi of his National team duty as their first official assignment only for President Goodluck Jonathan who kept calling the Super Eagle, Green eagles during the opening ceremony of the Akwa Ibom stadium recalled him.

This move showed that the intervention of government officials who lack adequate knowledge and passion for the beautiful game of football will continue to spell doom for Football and Sports in general in the country.

BlackBox Nigeria can confirm than the Super eagles of Nigeria fell a point shy of Dr Congo who picked up the best loser slot after their 3- victory Sierra Leone to advance its point tally to 9 points.

Like it happened after the country won the 1994 edition of the completion after which the country wasn't present to defend the trophy, Nigeria would once again be missing in action as the best teams on the continent converge in Equatorial Guinea early next year to battle for supremacy.

Not a few Nigerian observers have blamed President Jonathan for intervening and recalling embattled coach Stephen Keshi after he was relieved from the job weeks ago. The new NFF had made it clear that Keshi lacked the tactical ‎know out to advance the Eagles to the continental challenge which the President would have none of.
