Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. (Mrs.) Uche Ekwunife, has uprooted Dr. Chris Ngige from the Anambra Central senatorial seat, winning last Saturday's National Assembly election with 101,548 votes.
The official result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that Ngige, a former governor of the state, came a distant third with 20,850 votes while National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Chairman, Chief (Sir) Victor Umeh, came second with 77,129 votes.
