A senior member of the Lanihun family confirmed his death on Sunday evening in Ibadan.
Also confirming the death, Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, the Chairman of the Muslim Community of Oyo State, said that the late Lanihun would be greatly missed, particularly because of his kindness, generosity and philanthropic assistance to mankind and Muslims in particular.
Sanni recalled Lanihun's contributions to the education sector, saying that he built schools and gave scholarships to many indigent students.

His remains were interred at his Oke-Ado residence in Ibadan, with the Chief Imam of Ibadan, Sheikh Suara Haruna, leading the "Janazah'' prayers for the repose of his soul.
Prominent Islamic scholars, among other personalities, witnessed the "Janazah'' prayers.
