The Ikorodu Federal House of Representatives-Elect, Barrister Babajimi Benson, has congratulated the Lagos State Governor-Elect, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode BlackBox Nigeria has garthered.
In a statement posted on his official facebook page and monitored by BBN, Jimi Benson, thanked Lagos State residents for believing in the All Progressives Congress, while calling that a special status be accorded to the state to make it function effectively as the economic hub of Nigeria.
"With the official declaration of Akinwunmi Ambode as the Governor-Elect of Lagos State, Jimi Benson, uses the social media to congratulate the incoming Governor, Lagos State indigenes and residents alike, who braved the odds to vote our party, All Progressives Congress, and the candidates.
May 29, 2015, we believe would signal a new realignment in the relationship between Lagos State and the Federal government, in terms of bringing the federal might to bear on what needs to be done in Lagos State. Particularly, it is pertinent, to consider the amendment of the constitution to accommodate additional local governments, getting special status for Lagos State and getting the federal government to invest in infrastructure development in the state amongst other pressing needs," he wrote on the page.

Jimi Benson noted that following the complete movement of the Federal capital to Abuja on December 12, 1991, Lagos State has been abandoned by the Federal government and the new political realignment should generate the necessary supports to make Lagos State function effectively as the economic hub of Nigeria and allow it develop at par with other metropolitan cities.

He further congratulated Hon. S.O.B Agunbiade and Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, for their victories, to represent Ikorodu Constituency I and II respectively at the Lagos State House of Assembly at the Saturday elections.
